This is now the EIGHTH CONSECUTIVE TIME I have experienced the same unacceptable delivery behaviour from GLS Ireland. Eight times I have had to deal with the same problem, and despite repeated complaints, numerous assurances and a conversation with a manager, absolutely nothing has changed.
Once again, my parcels were dumped at the front gate instead of being delivered to my front door. I am disabled, which makes this particularly unacceptable. This latest time, the parcels were left outside in torrential rain, leaving one box badly soaked, damaged and practically turning to mush. There was also no proper notification from the driver.
Approximately a month ago, a GLS manager specifically assured me that the matter would be investigated and the drivers retrained. So what happened to that promise? Where is the investigation? Was the retraining ever carried out? Because the very next delivery has resulted in exactly the same behaviour.
Eight consecutive failures are not an isolated mistake. They are a pattern of repeated service failure that GLS has repeatedly been given the opportunity to correct.
What makes this even more infuriating is that GLS Ireland is always quick to reply to my zero-star Trustpilot reviews. The apologies and reassuring public responses keep coming, but the actual service never improves.
GLS seems perfectly capable of finding the time to respond publicly to criticism, yet somehow incapable of resolving the very problem being reported. What is the point of repeatedly telling me that my complaint is being taken seriously when the next delivery proves otherwise?
I am sick and tired of generic apologies, copy-and-paste responses and promises that my complaint has been forwarded to the relevant department. I have heard it all before. I do not want another apology. I want somebody to take responsibility and actually fix the problem.
I have now escalated this matter to ComReg and the CCPC. I have photographs documenting the latest delivery and the damage caused by leaving parcels exposed to torrential rain.
I have complained eight times about essentially the same issue. I have explained that I am disabled. I have spoken to management. I have been promised an investigation and retraining. Yet here I am again, dealing with the exact same unacceptable situation.
How many complaints does it take before GLS Ireland actually does something? Nine? Ten? Twenty?
Customer service is not about posting a sympathetic reply on Trustpilot. It is about putting things right. Based on my experience, GLS Ireland appears far better at replying to negative reviews than it is at learning from them.
I will continue to keep records of these incidents and the correspondence relating to them.
And when GLS inevitably replies to this review with another apology and assurances that my feedback is important, I would like an answer to one simple question: WHY HAS NOTHING CHANGED AFTER EIGHT CONSECUTIVE COMPLAINTS?
I have completely lost confidence in GLS Ireland. The service has been appalling, the promises have proved ineffective, and the repeated failure to address a known problem is beyond frustrating.
If you have a choice of courier, think carefully before using GLS Ireland.
GLS Ireland: stop replying to my reviews and start fixing your deliveries.
ZERO STARS. ABSOLUTELY DISGRACEFUL.
I have photo evidence if i could attach i would

Fantastic service as usual, the phone call before delivery is a real godsend! The driver is always very professional yet helpful.

I did not know where my package had gone to despite it saying it had been delivered to me. I would never have found out where it was only for Paulo looking into it for me and finding out where the driver had left it for me. As the driver told the man he delivered it to that he would text me to tell me where it was but did not. Only for me emailing customer service and Paulo helping me to locate it I would never have gotten it. So I am very grateful to Paulo she was very efficient and helpful with everything.

How do I get actually get in contact with GLS? Noone answers emails.
My parcel has been out for delivery since the 13th. It still hasn't been delivered. No contact has been made with me.
Today, a second parcel of mine was also out for delivery, along with the first parcel which was out for delivery for about the tenth time. Yet again, neither parcel was delivered and no contact from GLS.
l've already emailed with my info multiple times. Got no reply - except one email telling me you were too busy to reply.
GLS have been delivering to me, at this address and from this company, for years so I don't understand what the problem could be now.
The worst courier (and customer) service I've ever come across. I’ve spent almost 2 weeks chasing my first parcel and now I have to chase my second parcel too. Avoid GLS!
Edit: after emailing GLS multiple times over the last week and getting no reply, both of my parcels were dropped at my door first thing this morning - the parcel that was due on the 13th and the parcel that was due yesterday. So GLS were driving around with one of my parcels for the last TEN days!! Madness.

Delivered on time - no problem. However package was not delivered to my door. It was left on my driveway - exposed to the elements. My door was 20 feet away from where the package was left. Only knew it was there when I got confirmation message. Perhaps a phone call to advise when the package was delivered.

I regret to say that yesterday's delivery experience was underwhelming. We did get the usual impending delivery notifications and I appreciate that the courier was not able to contact us by phone because the sender had omitted listing our phone number on the address label. Returning home in the evening, we found the large parcel left at the front door, in the rain, during a Yellow Rainfall Alert, when it could have been safely left in our open shed opposite the house. As you can imagine, the cardboard was substantially soaked through. Thankfully, the electrical item I ordered (a large lamp) was entirely encased in Styrofoam and dry, otherwise I would have had to return the lamp to the seller for fear of electrocution.

GLS always delivers and never disappoints. Unlike the competition who either delivers to a different location or rearranges deliveries or are just damn rude GLS drivers always deliver on time and always leave the delivery exactly where they say. GLS you should be so proud of your drivers in Kerry and Limerick because they give a positive viewpoint to any couriers

GLS gave me regular shipment updates. The delivery wasn't the fastest on the market, but it got here safely and undamaged.

Package was left at gate in the rain drowned

GLS made the mistake of asking me to rate them, so, they asked, I rate.
GLS ignored a specific instruction to leave my parcel in the waterproof bin by the front door, opting, instead, to leave the parcel in my driveway by the gate where, when I came home after sunset in driving rain I didn't initially see it and almost ran over it.
There was a hole knocked in the shipping box during transit. This hole was facing upwards. So the rain had been pouring onto the parcel for hours.
Fortunately for GLS the shipper wrapped the €600+ item in plastic so my collectable wasn't totally destroyed. However the plastic also had a hole in it, so the €600+ item did suffer water damage. GLS's delivery person flat out caused damage to a collectable which, purchase, VAT, and shipping, ran to €647.36 (to give the exact cost this time).
So GLS made a mistake in sending me a "rate your experience" email. Their lazy-ass delivery person didn't do enough damage for me to be able to seek restitution from GLS, but I have the photos their delivery person left of the item at 2pm, and photos/video of the item when I discovered it at 930pm, as well as photos and videos of the item being unboxed making it damn well clear GLS is responsible for the damage. I also have the original order invoice where I told GLS "Leave item in waterproof bin by door."
I'll complain at GLS tomorrow. Right now? Once again they sent me a "rate your experience" email.
Fine, my experience with GLS was utter crap, and I'm angry GLS damaged a nearly €650 item.

My parcel was left out behind my bin when delivered this morning before 11am it got soaked as I didnt find it until 10.30pm
There was no photo evidence or note to say where it was left, which is a shame!
There is definite room for improvement here..
