Edited reply after receiving a thoughtful and detailed response from the app authors. The app does attempt to address disinformation and provide some limited context of the media’s biases, but inherently I think it’s much better to read a wide variety of sources and do your own research. There is no such thing as “impartial” and by suggesting there is it ingrains a particular worldview.
Original review:
Incredibly basic analysis of left/ring wing. Firstly - there is no such thing as "impartial", instead what we see as the "middle ground" is constantly shifting. Secondly, some of the analysis of the newspapers' political orientation is very basic and lacks proper research.
The classification of how media outlets are classified as left/right is inherently subjective, and presenting this as "fact" only contributes to the disinformation this app purports to combat. For instance - The Times of London has consistently supported the Conservative Party, but is ranked as the "center". Nobody who works in politics or journalism would agree with that analysis.
You are much better off reading a wide variety of news sources, and coming to your own conclusions.

An outstanding news aggregator on the market. It expertly customizes the news experience to your preferences. The subscription is invaluable, especially for the comprehensive daily briefing.

Before Ground News, I had really stopped following the news. The hyperbole of the news cycle and rampant biases of the media turned it into a mental health issue for me. Ground news allowed me to reconnect with the world by providing transparency and a way to control my experience with parsing news headlines, so I can only say that I'm grateful for the service they provide.
To be specific, they do this in several ways. They give you a bias rating for each news source. They also tell you how factual that particular source is and lastly, you can see who owns the source.
This made all the difference. I can now quickly judge how reliable a headline is. So, I highly recommend it!

The absolute best source to get news from, because it's not any one source! I've never subscribed as the free tier offers enough for me, however the subscriptions are very reasonable and seem worth it if the features are of interest.
I've been using Ground News on macOS and iOS for a couple of years now and have never been disappointed. It's the best way to access current events from around the world or locally without getting caught up with biases or having to search the web for multiple sources.
The app nicely organizes stories with a brief synopsis, then provides a chart with various news sources who have written about said story, organized by where they fall on the left-right spectrum. This way, you can easily read articles about the same story from both sides and get a better picture of what is happening -- this also makes it easier to see where the biases are and then compare.
Support staff are extremely friendly and helpful, and they are quick to implement suggestions or bug fixes when emailed.
The app has been a huge help while I was in undergrad and made it easier to research current events.
Overall, 10/10 (or 5/5 on here) in all aspects and I would highly recommend Ground News over other news aggregators, including Apple News.

If you're even uncertain if the news you hear is biased or inaccurate, Ground News is the solution.
News articles are collected one page with a brief summary blurb at the top, overall political leaning and accuracy of sources given, and links to each source with political bias and accuracy on each. I get the full view of big stories and notifications for news I'd never hear about, whether it be the other side of the political spectrum, or developments on India's space agency of all things!
Best of all, it's all for free!
I was hooked quickly, and signed up for the subscription service to help support. However, when my financial situation changed and I had to cut spending, they contacted me personally to ask why I unsubscribed!
I CANNOT recommend this service enough! Extremely useful and informative, with staff that care! Even if you think you don't care about news, I promise this service has something for you!

Ground News is the only place for open minded people to compare reporting from multiple perspectives. It shows you your blind spots, keeping you “grounded” in reality and allowing your mind to sift through the BS to come to your own conclusions.
Also, their world map feature is super awesome and comes in handy when reading about war. You can precisely see anything all over the world.

The best place for news. It's honest, its design is simple and effective, and the bias section is great. Love the web plugins as well. Let you easily see the bias. Keep up the great work!

For once a news feed that lets you see all the headlines to one story (as well as a rating of how factual they are).

It is the best app for sorting and understanding the news in their context.

Recently found ground news, the app is intuitive and easy to use.
Getting news and being aware of the bias is important. The blindspot if incredible, being able to see stories that are not being covered by a large number of news sites. I feel that this service is important. As our news coverage becomes increasingly controlled by fewer corporations seeing the thumb on the scale is fascinating.
I can see myself being a subscriber for a long time.

Ground News is the best platform out there for news. It provides quality, unbiased content for everyone to read. When you use this app, it will show you what stories are biased in different outlets reporting. It will categorize those in a spectrum from Left to Right in political biases. I love their feature that allows individuals to see stories that are not often reported on by other agencies with biases. I cannot put into words how much this app has allowed me to see the world clearly and without so many biases.
