Disappointing start to our Holiday
We booked the unit in June based on the unit having a lift and our older age. We arrived in September, the lift had been out of service since March and we were not advised until 2 days prior to our arrival - after the eligible cancellation date and too late to arrange alternative accommodation.
The apartment is on the 6th floor, 12 flights of stairs with large suitcases. Shower drain blocked, a/c filters choked. Very disappointing start to our Europe holiday.

Unfortunately, the lift had been out of service for an extended period. We had been advised that the repair would be completed before September, and we therefore expected the lift to be operational by the time of your arrival. Sadly, this did not happen as promised. As soon as we received confirmation that the lift would not yet be available, we informed you on 3 September, ahead of your arrival on 9 September. We fully appreciate, however, that this was only a few days before your check-in and that, at that stage, making alternative arrangements was very difficult.
We understand that having to use the stairs to reach a sixth-floor apartment, particularly with luggage, was a significant inconvenience, and we are sorry that this affected the start of your stay. We also regret the issues you experienced with the shower drain and the air-conditioning filters.
As a gesture of goodwill for the inconvenience caused by the lift situation, we refunded you €100.
We are sorry that the apartment did not provide the start to your European holiday that you had hoped for, and we appreciate your feedback.

The house was dirty and smelled.
Arriving at the house we got itching everywhere.
We left immediately and booked a hotel.
It doesn't look like the pictures at all. And we advise everyone not to book this apartment.

When you contacted our local manager at the reception, he explained that the residence was fully booked at that time but would be happy to assist them the following day with an alternative apartment. You left the keys at the reception and did not come back..

Where do I start? Maybe this is a European thing but trying to get someone to take responsibility for a booking disaster is a nightmare. There are literally 3 companies involved with this booking. I’m sure that finger pointing is a common deflection. I booked a stay at Casa Al Prato in Varenna for 4 nights. No one controls the weather but this apartment is NOT inhabitable if the outside temps are 75 degrees or warmer. The bedrooms are in an ATTIC. Literally 10 degrees hotter than the outside temps. You can NOT stand up in these bedrooms. You CAN control knowing that these bedroom can’t be slept in in warm weather. My elderly parents didn’t sleep at all the first night and we put them on a train for Milan the next day. This cost me an additional 3 night of hotel stay. I could NOT sleep in that attic and had to sleep on the dingy, dirty, and torn up couch downstairs. It was horrible. Little response from this company other than the deflection to others. We left after two nights to Milan to join my parents. An additional two night expense. No consideration from happy.rental or Lake Como Holiday or Holiday Property Solutions. I’m sure they all take credit when something goes right. Before you read a response form this company deflecting responsibility, know that I emails these details after our first night. No response for two days and they then told me I needed to contact someone else. By then I was already packed and headed to Milan.

We would, however, like to clarify a few points for future guests. Casa Al Prato is advertised without air conditioning, and therefore not mentioned in the property description. The photographs also clearly show the sloping roof and attic-style bedrooms, so these characteristics of the accommodation are not hidden or omitted from the listing.
This summer, unfortunately, experienced exceptionally high temperatures, which made the lack of air conditioning particularly challenging. We understand that this was uncomfortable, especially for your elderly parents.
We are also sorry that you felt you did not receive a prompt enough response while you were dealing with the situation. We understand how frustrating it is when an issue arises during a short stay and a solution cannot be found immediately.
We regret that the property did not meet your needs, but we believe it is important that potential guests have the opportunity to make their choice based on the information and photographs provided in the listing.

Great view directly at the beach front, great located and fair priced.
Yes, there is no AC listed, but there is an AC installed, according to the agency it is not yet ready, so let’s hope it will be for your visit, because it really gets hot in the apartment (have been there end of august).
The roller shutters in the master bedroom was totally broken, the roller shutter in the living room did not work as well…not helping with temperature either…
And prepare for a lot of mosquitoes with bringing whatever you can to defeat them and protect you.
To sum it up, fair priced, would have been 5 stars with AC and working roller shutters.

The location and the house were fine
The location and the house were fine—a 10-minute walk to the hotel beach. The house was clean and spacious enough, and the kitchen was excellently equipped. We did miss having a space for a sunbed in front of the house—something we had noted from the description—but the balcony and terrace served the purpose well. There is no air conditioning, but ceiling fans are installed in all the rooms and worked effectively.

We had a fantastic stay with Happy Rentals and couldn’t fault the experience from start to finish.
The communication was excellent throughout, and Anna was absolutely brilliant. Nothing was ever too much trouble, and she was available on WhatsApp whenever we needed her — even at all hours of the day. It made the whole stay feel completely stress-free.
The accommodation itself was lovely, in a great location in Cala de Mijas, within a secure and well-maintained community complex. The decor was smart and stylish, and the kitchen was particularly well equipped, with a generous range of facilities provided.

Great location but noisy
Great location - easy and flat walking distance from train station. Bus terminal even closer. It was very warm (32+ degrees) when we stayed in Aug 2026 and without air-conditioning we had to sleep with all the windows and doors open for the breeze. As a result, VERY noisy with the trains behind and buses and traffic on the busy street in front.
Comfortable bed (foam mattress with topper) and basic furniture throughout. Good size fridge and cutlery/crockery for four.
Very clean and tidy.
Easy walking distance to selection of cafes and restaurants. Plus two supermarkets (Coop and Migros).
We were requested to remove all garbage from the apartment on departure , but unclear instructions given prior to checkin where to take it. You have to take it to a public disposal bin a couple of streets away.
Good communication from host company.
