I ordered a Fibromyalgia ID card…

I ordered a Fibromyalgia ID card for my Sunflower Lanyard. When I got my lanyard I didn't know it was possible to have a specific disability ID card. It means that people will know my specific problem.
Thank you for giving me the option, and for the speed of delivery.

Ordered my son a lanyard as he’s been…

Ordered my son a lanyard as he’s been recently diagnosed as autistic. It came quite quickly and was good value for money. Even better than all of the money goes towards supporting kids like my son to lead an independent life and not feel excluded from society. Hoping it’ll mean less people will judge him when he goes out now and will be more understanding. Happy with purchase. Thanks😊

Amazing service, lovely sensory room

A fantastic sensory room which is easy and extremely reasonable to book via phone, you get a 45 minute completely private session and siblings are allowed to join the disabled person. There is a wide range of high quality sensory equipment in the sensory room including two enormous bubble tubes, bean bags, rocking apparatus, sensory tools and activities great for a sensory seeking young person but it can be adapted to be suitable for many different support needs. There’s different lighting effects that can be turned on or off and a voice operated Amazon Alexa for your own choice of music, volume control etc. The staff are always really lovely, polite, helpful, accommodating and friendly. There’s a hoist available and the sensory room would be suitable for wheelchair users. The room is sanitised after every use, no food, drink or footwear is permitted to help maintain the lovely space and resources available. The sensory room is my Autistic & ADHD dream, with so many opportunities for sensory input I can’t get elsewhere and just lots of fun, great for comfort, regulation and well-being in disabled individuals. It’s my favourite place to go and I never want to leave!!

A wide range of sensory, disability items and aids available to buy in the shop. Lots of items can be displayed, tried out or visualised in store which is fantastic so you can see before you buy, this is a great service especially if you have a disabled individual with very complex and specific needs. I absolutely love the Dr Barman angled toothbrushes for coordination, they have been life changing and go up to adult age which is brilliant. You can buy sunflower lanyard, hidden disability items, disability awareness, radar keys, ear defenders, regulation tools, social stories, routine, a wide range of sensory toys that cater to a variety of preferences, sensory lights, floor tiles, there is definitely something for everybody and a fantastic resource to have available to everyone, not restricted by location. Special Stars even have a website where you can buy items online if you can’t make it into store which is fantastic!!

Highly recommend Special Stars Foundation to anyone especially if you or your child is Autistic, ADHD, sensory seeker, love sensory input or calming activities, mental health, disabled etc. but it’s also fun for the family or young children to experiment and develop their sensory awareness.
