The most unorganised company and unfriendly staff. Unfortunately, this is not a company we would recommend to anyone and we sadly regret choosing.

I will not delve into details as every bad review with real peoples experience and opinions they reply back to and make it everyone else’s problem and take no accountability or apologise.

They previously replied to my review saying they searched their database and had no record of an ‘Emily’ which is clearly a lie as they were the solicitors I used to buy my first home in August 2025. It’s laughable what they will do when they get a bad review. Instead of listening they deflect. This company will not grow buy doing this.

Unfortunately Hannah the owner was on holiday for the 3/4 months we were dealing with her company and maybe this is why we had such a poor experience with her incompetent and rude staff.

Poor communication resulted in a lost sale. HMD Legal terminated our contract two weeks before the agreed completion date, referencing a negative online review.

We also experienced unprofessional conduct from the solicitor Hannah, who was rude and dismissive in her communications. Withdrawing representation at this late stage effectively jeopardised the sale.

I sold a house as executor, and approached HMD after our initial solicitors had lost paperwork and caused significant delays. HMD picked up the case and even though they had to just about start from scratch, we were completed in 5 weeks. Communications were clear and quick and they were very responsive. I would certainly use them again.

The firm we were selling our property through didn’t deal with auctions but HMD Legal were able to review the auction pack by a tight deadline which allowed us to proceed with confidence. I chose Hannah's firm after being recommended by a friend. They were very competitive on pricing and, having gone through a very expensive divorce, cost was important to me. My house sale was the last piece of the divorce jigsaw, which had been extremely stressful and Hannah's team very competently handled the sale up until the date of completion, however this is where they fell short. No funds from the sale appeared and there was no communication from Hannah's team about what was happening. I had to keep chasing for an update and was given very sketchy, limited information about what was happening, other than that it was a problem with the Bank. Funds finally appeared after 4 days of me chasing and demanding to know what was happening. No-one contacted me to tell me funds had been transferred, or to apologise for the delay until a couple of days later. It is such a shame my experience with them ended this way, as up until completion, I had been very happy with my experience.

HMD Legal - and more specifically Grace Braim and her team are amazing! This is a wonderfully modern & refreshing way of legal firms doing business. When selling and buying houses recently they kept us informed at every stage via web portal, telephone and email. Any questions we had were always answered quickly and we had a clear idea of what was happening & when. Moving is a stressful business but Grace made it as easy as possible for us. HMD take away the usual ‘smoke & mirrors’ of conveyancing - they are open & honest & understand that they are dealing with people’s lives. Wholeheartedly recommend HMD & would definitely use them again! Thank you!
