Avoid

Used homebargains flowers for Mother’s Day flowers as I have done every year for the past 3/4 years. Always been happy with them, this year a completely different experience. Flowers arrived looked nothing like the picture on the website only 5 stems arrived 2 of which were roses which were starting to die. Contacted customer service through email who proceeded to tell me the florist manager didn’t see any quality issue and the correct amount of flowers were sent. After sending another email back they agreed to send a new bunch of flowers as a “gesture of goodwill” however the original bunch I had chosen was no longer available, no problem. Picked a new bunch which were sent out next day delivery. The new bunch was even worse than the original, majority of the bunch was green leaves/foliage with 3 brown roses with the petals dropping off. I give up not bothering to email again, it’s a waste of time. I could have done better with a £5 supermarket bunch. Utter waste of £20. Save your money, avoid at all costs.

Paid £26.94 for dead flowers

Paid £26.94 and flowers arrived drooped, lots of heads fell off when taken out of box and the rest didn't pick up after 24 hours in water.
Emails to HomeBargains bounced back, online message centre form would not submit and help link showed error. 3rd party Prestige flowers who provides the flowers on their behalf.. all numbers out of service.
Update ….. I did mange to eventually make contact and a refund was given after sending photos and refusing offer to reorder, vouchers/credit note.

I ordered condolence flowers for my niece who's husband died on Sunday 5th of February. My niece lives 200 miles away so I didn't get to see the flowers until my sister sent me a photo. The flowers were nothing like the one's on their website, quantity and quality were really poor. I complained by email and kept getting the same format email back. Because I didn't complain straight away they could only offer me a £10 voucher or £10 credit towards future purchases which I did not accept because I do not intend to order from this company again. Only wish I had checked out the reviews before I ordered.

Terrible value - be warned

I ordered a "large" bouquet of roses and alstromerias for my wife, costing a penny under £30. 15 stems arrived. I queried the quantity. The company confirmed that 15 stems is correct. I shudder to think how many stems there are in a standard bouquet....probably about 5. The photo on the website is therefore very misleading. Be warned. It's terrible value.

I feel bad about only leaving a review…

I feel bad about only leaving a review when things have gone badly wrong, as I have had many good experiences.
In this case, however, a poor review is very much deserved.
I ordered flowers on 8/12/22 to be delivered 23/12/22 ( actually needed for 24/12/22, but played safe).
I fully accept that Home Bargains Flowers could not control the post strike. In fact they did their best to avoid the disruption due on 23 and 24th by sending the flowers on the 22nd.
They were badly let down by the Post Office. They showed the flowers were out for delivery and due to be delivered 22/12/22. They were then shown as being received at the sorting office, with no attempt having been made to deliver. Unfortunately the message in the tracking system was rather misleading and it showed as ‘ due to be delivered today’ on 23/12/22.
When it became clear that no delivery had happened I messaged Home Bargains, and got an automated response.
I had to get flowers delivered from a local florist - on Christmas Eve. Very hard and extremely expensive!
The posted flowers arrived 28/12/22, and were, predictably dead, having been without water for best part of a week.
There were several bank holidays, etc, but after 5 full working days I had had no reply, so messaged again.
Another 7 normal business days have passed, and still no response.
I need my money back to help defray a small part of the extra expense incurred 24/12/22.
Small update 17/1/23. I finally managed to get on online chat. If I was giving stars for lack of interest and poor attitude they would be right up there. No refund as I didn’t send them photos within 3 days ( even though I have been waiting for a reply from them for 3 weeks)
I was willing to be reasonable, but I can’t deal with a business so lacking in integrity. It’s probably worth the £20 to know what the company is actually like.

Absolutely disgusting

Absolutely disgusting. They will lie to you. They will deliberately delay responding to you. The photos on their website and what they actually send to you is completely different. Companies like these shouldn't be allowed to operate. Obviously run by some crooks. This is day time robbery and needs to stop!

Poor Delivery & Customer Service

I have ordered flowers from Home Bargains a number of times in the past & had no problems. However following my most recent experience with them I will not be ordering from them again.
I ordered flowers as a surprise to thank my sister for having us over the Xmas period. The order was placed on the Fri with delivery scheduled for Sat. Home Bargains uses Royal Mail as their courier. Delivery was attempted on Sat however my sister was out, now rather than place the flowers in a safe place or with a neighbour Royal mail returned them to the depot. They were closed all day Sun, Mon my sister tried to collect but the office closed at 10am! & they did not attempt to redeliver, then on Tue the flowers were finally delivered & left with a neighbour, by which time they were not looking their best.
I contacted Home Bargains customer service team to complain & had responses from 4 different staff throughout all telling me I'm not eligible for compensation (when I'd already stressed I wasn't looking for compensation) & saying it's up to the courier company whether or not they leave the flowers in a safe place or with neighbours (when surely it should be policy to do this in the case of perishable items & stated in the service level agreement with the company employing them) & it's the recipients responsibility to be available to accept delivery (of a surprise parcel they don't know is coming!).
I'm very angry & disappointed with their response as they don't seem the slightest bit interested in addressing this problem & putting some actions in place to stop it happening again to another customer.

Fewer flowers than paid for - Home Bargains don't see a problem

I ordered a bouquet for the Christmas dinner table consisting of 3 different kinds of roses in white, pink and a delicate purple along with Chrysantemum and Pistacia (branches with green leaves).

I paid for 14 stems. 13 stems were delivered:

3 Pistacia (green branches)
5 pink roses
2 white roses
3 small chrysantemum

No purple roses as described.

The individual stems were put in a plastic wrapper, not tied together as an actual bouquet, so effectively it was a bundle of flowers as you buy in any supermarket, only Home Bargains charge 3 times as much as the supermarket.

I have complained to customer services but dealing with them is like pulling teeth. They merely state that the quality according to the photo I sent is ok and completely ignore the missing stem, and ignoring that the flowers were not as described nor looked anything like the photo, that almost 1/4 of the 'bouquet' was branches with green leaves rather than flowers, and that one sort of roses was completely missing.

What you pay for is a specific number of 'stems', so in theory they could send 1 of each rose, 1 chrysantemum and 10 branches with green leaves and call it a 'bouquet'.

It is not just a rip-off but seriously misleading with the 'stems' rather than a specific number of flowers vs. branches with green leaves/other greens.

Avoid. You're much better off with a couple of bundles of flowers from your local supermarket.

Worst experience

Worst experience, everything from the actual flowers, to the customer service. They were late and they tried to blame Royal Mail when Royal Mail didn’t even receive the flowers till 5pm the day they were due to be delivered. The follow up customer service complaints team are rude and seem to actually be trying to wind up customers. For what you get they are no cheaper than anywhere else. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY.

Very pleasantly surprise!

After reading all the reviews, I actually tried to cancel my order but it was too late so I’ll keep my fingers crossed. I was very pleasantly surprised! Flowers arrived well presented with a lovely card. My sister was very happy. I would definitely recommend and will be using again. Great free delivery and even though the bunch was smaller than expected, they were very well received.

If there was an option to give 0 stars, I would!!

If there was an option to give 0 stars, I would. Where do I start, after ordering bunch of flowers for a birthday present, I opted and payed extra for the deluxe version, which is supposed to give you 50% more flowers (“premium quality!”), despite paying even extra for a larger size. after opening the box upon delivery, what can only be described as a lifeless, sparse and damaged “bunch” (there was around 12 flowers, including the broken buds that were rolling around at the bottom of the box. I had emailed the customer service, to which the lady gave a very rude, patronising response, after sending her photos as a comparison to the ones displayed on the website, i was told that the ones I received were of “great quality” which was a complete joke. After a single day they had already started to wilt. And are now fully dead after 4 days. Probably the worst company experience I’ve ever had.
