Increasingly unreliable inconsistent and indifferent service

I have been using Homejoy for regular fortnightly cleans for about 8 months. Initially the service was good. I have been happy with the quality of the cleaning and most of the cleaners I have had have been good. However in the past 3 months the service has rapidly gone downhill. Cleaning appointments are cancelled less that 24 hours after the slot, with no compensation. Cleaners have not turned up. A quick replacement appointment is not available. They clearly do not have enough reliable cleaners in their work force to fulfil their customer base. I would be surprised if their London operation remains going for much longer.

Cleaner showed up late and left early. Follow up cleaning service was cancelled by homejoy

Hi
I have tried homejoy once and had horrible experience. My cleaner [NAME] first arrived half an hour late. she then 'cleaned' for two hours fifteen minutes even though I paid for 2.5 hrs. In other words she just announced that she was done and left early.

Leaving early would be fine if things were done properly which was far from the case. There were so clear things she missed all over the apartment that I could have done better job. I honestly think she must have slept here for that time as its not possible to clean for that long and not get anything done.

When homejoy kindly offered to make up for the poor quality they gave with free service I thought I gfive them a chance. However the make up cleaning that I booked weeks in advance cancelled at last minute and didn't show up.

Now I'm left with no cleaning service as their books are full. On top of this usif the service with my iPhone won't allow me to change my password and even after they have changed I still cannot login.

Sounds like a made up moan as everything had gone wrong but I can assure you I'm not laughing. Wouldn't recommend their services to anyone.

very pleased with the efficiency of the cleaner

Left him a hopeful wish list of things to complete in the allocated time and was pleasantly surprised when he had done all of these to a very high standard and even extra things I had not requested. This is the second cleaning from this company and both have been excellent.

Very efficient

Setting up the first appointment with Honejoy was easy, registering on the website and arranging a time was straightforward. There were a couple of text reminders which I really appreciated. The cleaner turned up on time with everything she needed and she did a brilliant job. There was no pressure to rebook, she just suggested I let Home Joy know if I was happy or not and then decide if I wanted her to come back.

I've tried a few cleaning services and this has been the best so far.

Guarantee not worth paper its printed on

Had an end of lease cleaning done and considered the guarantee of happiness a sure winner in the event the landlord was not happy.

Landlord reported some issues but on contacting homejoy I'm informed (coincidentally) that any dirty items are not covered by them and anything else has a different reason. (Even with photos)

10 hours to clean a small two bedroom apartment and will be the last time I use this service.

Delightful experience

I had a very personable and friendly cleaner named Sandra. She was very meticulous about cleaning every little knook and crack. I prepared all of the cleaning materials and she even brought her own. I would highly recommend the service.

Always a great experience.

We've been using homejoy for the past year or so and have always been happy with our service. The people that they send to our house are trustworthy and do a great job. I've chosen my favorite cleaner and hire her to come every 4-6 weeks. She is great! I typically let her in, then leave to go to work or run errands and I can trust that she will do a good job while I am out. And will leave the house locked and secure on her way out. Homejoy also has great customer service. They've given me credits when small inconveniences arise, they even sent me flowers to thank me for being a loyal customer... doesn't get much better than that!

Homejoy!!!.........Homesad and Damaged!

Avoid this company at all costs and use Hassle.com, much better rated cleaning company.

Booked a clean with Homejoy last June '14. I have beautiful oak wooden floors throughout my property. One of the cleaners used bleach thus ruining my entire floor!!

After months and months of going back and fourth with homejoy who basically take no liability for the cleaners I'm having my floor sanded and re-polished this week.

Up until now I've not complained on the open forum about Homejoy, but
today I phoned and asked if I could have a free clean (with the exception of the floors) on Saturday morning as the flat will be covered in dust!

Well you can guest what they said, absolute bunch of amateurs! Since June the name of the manager has changed 3 times!! You do the maths.

Could do better

Initially I was very happy with the service, but over time my confidence in Homejoy was eroded.

On two occasions, the cleaner did not turn up at all. No communication and indeed I had to contact Homejoy on both occasions to tell them.

Once, I got home from work at 8pm, the cleaner had left about midday and they had left my front door wide open. Luckily it was an interior flat door but still.

Every time I called to report a problem, the people on the end of the phone seemed pretty non-plussed and not particularly genuinely apologetic for the problems.

After this I cancelled my membership - for the price, which I think is very expensive, the overall service was pretty sub standard. I also decided I wasn't comfortable leaving my keys out every week for a different stranger each time. I was also suspicious that they weren't spending the full 2.5 hours in the flat - which seemed to be the minimum time allowed - as it is a tiny flat and there were often things missed and not completed properly.

I really wanted to like it as a concept, but sadly did not work for me.

Amazing cleaner; lackluster online service

I loved the cleaner that I had for the first time with HomeJoy. She was very professional, nice and thorough. I wanted to give her a tip online via my credit card, and per the guidance on your online tool, it said I could do so after the cleaning, but that feature did not work and I had to contact customer service to do so. Took time out of my day to do; not fun. But the cleaner was great and I wanted her to personally receive the tip. Please make that tool better online for your customers. thanks.
