Avoid!

Avoid - they don’t actually provide you with any cover!!

Having navigated the requirement to send your IMEI after you have taken out the policy, I tried to make a claim in May and am still waiting to hear anything from the claims handler they use (see my review on PEX Insurance). When I rang Home Rescue they said they were aware of the problem with the handler and had stopped using them, but there was nothing they could do. They’re handled doesn’t take their calls any more than it doesn’t mine. They actually recommended reporting to the ombudsman rather than trying to solve themselves. Having looked into this it turns out their handler is unwritten in Malta rather than the UK. The whole company is a joke. I’m out my premium and hundreds of pounds for a replacement device.

DO NOT GO ANYWHERE NEAR HOMERESCUECO

DO NOT GO ANYWHERE NEAR THIS COMPANY
I thought I had a great deal with this as it was cheaper for gadget insurance than most others.
Now because of their inefficiency, I've ended up losing a lot of money. I took out a policy with them and they never sent me any documents. Because it was after their 7 day period when I should've sent my serial number, the policy was invalid. I couldn't get a refund and also couldn't continue with a valid policy which I was paying for. I had no choice but to pay £9.99 to cancel. I didn't want anything else to do with them after that. I see people have had similar experiences. Please don't trust them. They are bad people.

AVOID AVOID! Wish I'd read reviews sooner

AVOID AVOID!! Like with many other reviews I've now read on here (unfortunately too late) i took out phone insurance and had been paying this for 5 months before i cracked my screen and tried to claim - only to be told that i hadn't provided my IMEI number and therefore claim was rejected. They told me they had emailed me twice telling me to provide it back in Feb when i took out the policy, but I did not receive any emails! Just before trying to claim i asked for my policy docs to be emailed to me again and they came through to my inbox fine, so i know the other emails hadn't gone to junk!! I was passed around by so many people, i was getting so fed up having to deal with THREE different company names, i was resorted to tears! In the end i had to pay a fee to cancel my policy. WHY WAS I CONTINUING TO PAY EACH MONTH IF I WAS NEVER GOING TO BE ABLE TO MAKE A CLAIM ANYWAY?!!

AVOID AT ALL COST Given 1 star as have to give something.
Awful company, rude and arrogant staff!
Collected my premiums even though cover was never validated and then refused to pay out. In addition they wanted me to pay the full premium plus a cancellation fee to halt a policy that was never in force. Wish I’d read the reviews before I used them.

WASTE OF SPACE!

Recently make a claim through these muppets... Worst Insurance Company ever! Even though the item I have has been written off they expect me to pay for the remainder of the policy🤬 From start to finish the claim was a complete nightmare. They got 2 surprises coming one will be a complaint to the Ombudsman and the second a visit from me.

Hope this corrupt company gets shut down and doesn't scam anyone else off.

Very bad boiler cover

They say that they sell boiler cover, however the cover would not cover our broken down boiler.

When our boiler broke down the insurer would not cover it because it was not "unsafe" and no one was in danger.

Next time must read the policy carefully. Will not be using these cowboys again.
HomeRescue.co are a trading name of Dynamo (also bad reviews).

And the insurer was PEX, whoever that are.

What a waste of £115 for boiler cover

What a waste of £115 for boiler cover. Total shambles and worthless. I ended up just calling out an engineer as I lost the plot after 3 calls and 'declined' claim. Boiler cover that requires my house to be falling down.....laughable. ah well, expensive lesson but a lesson all the same.

DONT.DO.IT

Please, if anyone is smarter than me and checks reveiws before hand. do not do it to yourself! i tried to claim when a customer at work stole my phone from behind the bar and they told me even though i had been paying 6 months of insurance i wasnt actually insured as i hadnt given my serial number. they NEVER contacted me asking for this, they have both my email and number! I now cannot cancel the inurance and a having to pay £80 just to cancel it. I am currently seeking legal advice BUT If anyone has any advice on how to bring down this unscrupulous company and possibly get back the money they've proceeded to take without unknowingly not being insured that would be great!

Worst broker ever!

Worst broker ever! Don't be misled that they are an insurance company, they are a 0* broker!!

AVOID!!!

Very unprofessional, when you call them it sounds like a 1 man band as it only ever seems to be the same person answering the phone.

When you take out a policy be aware they will ask for so many pictures, details and information.

If you do need to make a claim expect to provide proof of everything including having to pay YOURSELF to prove that the item is not damaged or stolen.

The insurance company they use is PEX INSURE and are an incompetent company! Again no claims department just 1 phone number and tell you they can only deal with claims via email. Pi**ed off is an understatement!

Worst experience i have ever had to…

Worst experience i have ever had to deal with concerning Boiler/service cover ever.
These Welsh Cowboys will take your hard earned cash and provide little else.I tried to make two claims for faults that I assumed would be covered, also they use not very reputable sub contractors that service or carry out necessary repairs required.
If you check out the individual contractors own website's, they have poor reviews of their own.
I would avoid this company at all costs, and pay a little bit more for your policy, with a well established company, like for instance British gas, or Home serve.
At least they will honour their side of that contract.
You have been warned.
Don't ignore this review. !!!!!!!!!

Cowboys - steer clear!

What an absolute joke this company is - except for the fact that it is just NOT FUNNY!!!!!

I took out a policy with them online and decided 20 minutes later that it wasn’t right for me. I rang them immediately and was told I’d have to pay an £8.99 fee for cancellation. Hello - not heard of such a thing as a cooling off period of 14 days?

I sent an e mail complaining about this and about the incompetence of the customer service agent, only to receive a reply saying they didn’t tolerate abuse of their employees and therefore would not respond to my query!

I rang again and asked them where in the Terms and Conditions it stated that this charge would be payable. Easy answer - it doesn’t!!

The agent had no idea of how to deal with customers and just kept threatening to end the call!

In the end I have paid the charlatans the £8.99 just so that I NEVER have to deal with them again.

The only thing I am thankful for is that this ridiculous company did not get their hands on my central heating boiler.

If you’re tempted to deal with them - DON’T DO IT - believe me!!!!!!!!!

this company is a sham

this company is a sham - i don't 100% know if they're trading as home rescue, dynamo insurance or pex despite several complaints.

my phone got damaged & company wouldnt cover it though I had full proof of ownership & payment – you asked me once for an IMEI number & that was before my phone had even arrived – why was this not followed up & I could have provided it?

I purchased my new phone & the relevant finance applicable on it – I paid phone insurance to your company in good faith – but for what?

Why did your company continue to debit money from my account every month if I apparently had no cover for anything? What exactly was this payment paid for?

STAY CLEAR - THESE ARE CROOKS

Such a fraud company.
Any time you call for problem. They put you on hold and then come back and say this is not covered and extra money will be charged, even when i have a deluxe package which includes every thing.
They tricked me on everything. And now I am stuck with them for one year. Such a waste of money.
Please please avoid them.

I took out a 12 month contract to…

I took out a 12 month contract to service my central heating system which included an annual service. When the service was due I contacted Home Rescue to arrange a service date, but was told that due to staff shortages they were unable to provide the annual service and offered to refund that portion of the cost. This was totally unacceptable to me - I wanted my central heating system serviced as per my contract with them, but they wouldn't accommodate me. Given my experience, I would not use this company again.

Disgraceful company.

Disgraceful company.
Couldn't (or wouldn't) arrange a service for my boiler despite requesting it last November. They asked me to give 3 dates this January which I duly supplied, knowing full well that my contract with them expires on the 19th and still failed in this simple and paid for request. They have offered me £55.00 refund when I called to ask what was happening.
Absolutely appalling, do not touch with a bargepole.

Keep Clear of This Company at all Costs!

Do Not Use Dynamo.co or Homerescue

I really wish I had checked the reviews of this company first, but it came up with one of the comparison sites. I really have learnt a hard lesson though.
I took out heating cover in February 2018, I then contacted them a few months after to query when the annual check would take place. I was told I had to wait six months before this was possible. Exactly six months to the date, at the end of August, I called again. I was told they would get back to me when an engineer was in my area. This pattern continued up to today; 28th December 2018. I have phoned countless times, where I have been fobbed off with the same excuse. Each time I was told they would contact me with a date for the check, however this has never happened. The most recent promise being Friday 21st December 2018. The last time I spoke to the customer service team (I use this term loosely) they suggested I arrange an independent engineer check and they would refund me £55. With the appalling history to date, I was not going to act on this suggestion. They clearly have no intention of doing anything for the money, and more importantly have wasted a considerable amount of my time and money. The payment method is also POS (Point of Sale) and is therefore trickier to cancel. I am so incensed at how they are scamming unsuspecting people, that this is the first time I have ever written a review! Please take heed, and use my experience to avoid the same happening to you!
