Unbelievably bad service from John…

Unbelievably bad service from John Lewis. A plumber fitted a new boiler and at one point left a bleed screw on a radiator in our bedroom open with the water gushing out. It took a time to discover that this was happening and the result was bad staining of our kitchen ceiling and walls, and some discolouration of the bedroom carpet. John Lewis said they would mediate and put in writing to me that the plumber would cover the cost of the redecorating, and to just go ahead and have the work done. I thought this was somewhat odd, without supplying any quotes, so I submitted a quote proactively and followed up to seek approval. I was met with radio silence, and despite many efforts to seek a further approval, nothing was forthcoming. I therefore told the decorator to go ahead as John Lewis had already confirmed in writing that I should just get the work done. I then received a call from JL saying that the plumber had a decorator who would come round and quote on the job. I told them it was too late and I had given the go ahead to someone else and was not inclined to change. They said they understood, and that it was ok to do so and promised to confirm in an email. No email was forthcoming and I therefore followed up with an email of complaint detailing all the issues I had had in dealing with them, asking for the confirmation promised in the call to be sent through. My email left them in no doubt as to how upset I was with the atrocious service I had received, and I still have no response to that email, sent over two weeks ago. I find it amazing that a company like JL has such bad service, and I would urge anyone thinking of using them to look elsewhere.

Stress-free Solution

I have used David twice and both times he has done an excellent job. It is so good to find someone friendly and experienced who comes and solves the problem.

Really surprised with JLewis they sent…

Really surprised with JLewis they sent an email informing me “I have a lack of understanding” with how my job was priced up after querying a bill. I am very upset at being addressed this way. JLewis sent the workman round on wrong days and it was all a mess with communication. The carpenter did a fantastic job and I was very pleased with the work. But I’ll never use home solutions again and would not recommend

Disappointing

Disappointing. The call centre failed to understand some of the requirements of the decorating job, requiring several phone calls. I was promised a call back which never materialised. The painter left several areas poorly done and had to return to finish the job. I feel underwhelmed by the service, the attention to detail was very poor for the price.

No quote received

Tradesman arrived on time (good start). However, he said I would receive a quote within 3 days. It’s been over two weeks now and have heard nothing, not even a message to say he’s decided not to take the job.

You don’t get a choice of tradesperson, the job seems to be randomly given to one tradesperson to quote. If they don’t want the job there appears to be no way of offering the job to another John Lewis approved tradesperson.

I can’t even contact the tradesperson directly to find out if he intends to quote.

This service offered by JL is an…

This service offered by JL is an absolute shambles!
It has been launched prematurely and no-one is up to speed with any aspect.
I needed a redecoration of a 4 bed domestic property and they arranged for a national, primarily large contracting company to quote.
Unsurprisingly, the price quoted was four times the price of local reputable tradesmen!
A great idea John Lewis but your reputation will suffer if you don't get your act together.

Excellent service from John Lewis Home Solutions.

Excellent service from John Lewis Home Solutions. I use the App to make my booking and it was very easy to use. Omid from Tecoma was very polite and friendly. The job was done to high standard and the site left clean and tidy.
I would definitely recommend use this service again.

Excellent service from John Lewis Solutions

Excellent service - I am thrilled! Easy to get a quote ( which was very reasonable) and very easy to book. Craig, the electrician, was extremely professional, quick, very tidy and lovely to deal with. I can not recommend highly enough - I’m very pleased.

Boiler service

We used home solutions for a boiler and hot water cylinder service. Alex from Grand Union plumbing and heating was assigned. Amazing service from him from beginning to end. Communicated on the day with an exact time which was really helpful. Was knowledgable, thorough and friendly. Would 100% recommend and will definitely be using him again.

Pretty easy process, needs to improve ways to communicate with workers

Pretty easy process, but think would
Help to have a messaging service to talk to trade person directly in case calls don’t get through. We had a plumber out to service our boiler - he did this well but needed to return to do repairs but this process took a while to arrange and think a messaging service on the app would have helped because was hard to arrange his return.

Dripping shower

We required a plumber and the one supplied by Home Solutions did an excellent job. He was polite and friendly and was willing to do added work when asked.
Altogether a very satisfactory result and reasonably priced.
