Appalling customer service

Appalling customer service! We reported a fault with our Quadrio fridge freezer that was a known product defect that Hotpoint had been aware of for a decade. They left us without a working appliance for over a month before a repair was arranged. We were denied a claim for food loss and damage to our property resulting from this defect.

Hotpoint claimed that because of the age of our appliance, we didn't qualify for compensation. However, the age of our fridge wasn't the issue, it was their product defect that caused the problem. I will never buy another Hotpoint appliance.

Total incompetence

Total incompetence, five appointments made, one no-show, two with incorrect parts, eventually repaired more than four weeks later. All engineers were polite and apologetic.

Avoid.

Out to repair twice, assured was resolved, still not working. Impossible to contact by phone once they have you in the insurance package and they know they have been out. Recognise your number and you cannot get through to speak to someone, immediately directed to online booking service. Phone on number they don’t recognise and you go straight through to a consultant. Really don’t bother - not worth the time wasted.

The hotpoint engineer was great

The hotpoint engineer was great , he knew exactly what was wrong with my washing machine and had it working in no time . It was my insurance company Domestic and General who messed things up by giving the engineer our previous address so we waited a week for the engineer to arrive only to find out we'd missed our slot as he'd gone to our previous home in a different county . So we then had to wait another week , lots of piled up dirty laundry . So all in all I'd say Hotpoint were great but when they sens you a text to say they are booked in , it would be a good idea to include the postcode of where they are intending on coming to , this way you could avert this problem sooner .

Update on my experience with this…

Update on my experience with this useless company, Hotpoint. The spare part they offered me at an extortionate price of £32 and unless delivery, I purchased the exact part from Amazon for £ 13.99 with next day delivery. Never again will buy anything made by Hotpoint. Plus 15 minuets on the phone listening to a load of garbage.

Ruined Our Christmas

Would never recommend this company to anyone. Heartbroken- 3rd time my brand new fridge has broken. Wife works for the NHS, they didn’t care or try to help- lost food 1st time and now the same issue and Christmas food going off now. They don’t pay for your food that’s gone off- 1st engineers was so rude, LAUGHED that we didn’t have a working fridge/freezer - we made a complaint and they said we wouldn’t hear the outcome- nothing come out of it, he ignored us and diagnosed it wrong- another engineer come out 3 weeks later and it was ‘fixed’ broken again now within 3 weeks. Nobody wants to help us and this is the worst thing to happen. Everyone keeps passing the buck. Never follow up on anything we always chasing them.

Unprofessional and useless customer service

I had to get a replacement hinge for my oven door and since their website did not have any picture or helpful description to decide what exactly I needed to get, I called Hotpoint for advice and have been advised to buy parts that were not necessary and too many of them. After arranging the return and posting the parcel, it turned out that Hermes lost it and I have been trying to get them to refund me ever since. The communication is very unprofessional and slow, it's like someone gets back to me from their phone, no signature, contact details, not even a name most of the time. Recently they said that the money left their account, but I was not even sent any details on the value or proof that it has been arranged, not to mention that the money is still not in my account. And I don't know why I even bothered, since the oven is for scrap now anyway only after 18 months.

I ordered a part that was £27 inc delivery, they told me 2 day delivery I said that was fine. They forgot to tell me I would be paying almost £16 for delivery. I would of happily waited a few days for standard delivery if I was given that option.

Avoid

Avoid, they take your money and have no stock.

Ordered items on 7th October and paid extra for next day delivery. Items were not delivered, so I emailed to enquire why and where the spares were.
I was passed from one department to another with no one taking responsibility to solve the problem.
Two weeks later I tried to call and was put on hold for 32 minutes and eventually they dropped the call,
Appalling service, they have my money and I have no products, If they took payment via Paypal (which they don't) I would raise a case.
Use an independent for spares AND DON'T BUY HOTPOINT goods is my recommendation.

Rude engineer who dismissed what I was…

Rude engineer who dismissed what I was telling him about what was happening with the machine.
His exact words for why my machine stopped in the middle of a programme was “your inlet pipe too low”
His exact words for why at the end of a cycle my clothes are not spun “the machine will go round and round for hours till it wants to spin”
His fix was to pull my inlet pipe to the top of the machine and wedge it behind the machines electric cable.
The result, machine still doing the same thing. Stopping in mid cycle. Then when I’ve had to go and start it again it doest spin the washing. Waiting for a second engineer, let’s hope he is better than the first.

Shockingly Bad Service

Shockingly Bad Service.
My washing machine stopped working on a Saturday. Contacted hotpoint to arrange a repair. They sent out a third party (EGC) the following Wednesday. They said the motor was broken. Friday heard it was out of stock - no ETA for a new one. I had no confirmation email or job number from hotpoint and had to spend hours phoning different numbers to work out that EGC were doing the repair but hotpoint were responsible for ordering the motor. Finally got hold of someone the following Wednesday (10 days now with no washing machine) to discover there was no ETA for the motor. In the end I cancelled the repair having lost £65 for a call out fee for the initial assessment. I have now bought a new machine - which was quicker & easier than trying to work with hotpoint. What a bad message re the environment and trying to mend things rather than buy new all the time. Even though I cancelled the job I had a message today saying the motor was in and due to be installed 2 1/2 weeks after my initial phone call! Don’t bother with hotpoint - go straight to EGC for a repair.

Unvaccinated engineers

The visit and repair was efficient as scheduled, the engineer did want to be a salesman! I was very alarmed though when the engineer stated through conversation that he was unvaccinated( he’s choice) I really not comfortable with that fact and I’m rather angry with the company and feel I should have been informed of that beforehand and given the opportunity to choose if I wanted a unvaccinated engineer in my home.
