Solid, thorough experience

Paul was fantastic and did a thorough job in reviewing the property; we're happy with the report and it has already been quite useful in communications with the developers about our property.

The service is acceptable, but could be better

The snagging report is fairly comprehensive and there are snags that I don't think I would discover myself within a short time in the house. So overall I am satisfied with the report. But the surveyor did miss a few key problems such as uneven floor in multiple locations, including one spot with a brokern flooring, and a problem with the hood extractor connection.

Excellent service from the entire team

Excellent service from the entire team. Ian our surveyor was very knowledgeable and supportive, he spent the entire day snagging our 4-bedroom new build and has found 204 snags, many are the small things we would not have noticed.

Gold Package review

Having completed on a new build and hearing of some horror stories it was very important for me to get some reassurance over the build. After much research I chose HouseScan and I went for the Gold Package. I am more than pleased to say that I could not be happier with the service that I received. It was really reassuring to have them carry out the inspection as it's clear that they are great experts in their field and I would highly recommend them!
The inspector, Paul, picked up on many things I would not have noticed on my own and gave me advice on what to do. It's also definitely worth going for the thermal imaging as it picked up that my radiators were not working to their full capacity.
The report is also really clear, detailed, professionally produced and easy to understand. It also has the thermal images.

Excellent service

I've been so happy with the service from HouseScan. It was really reassuring to have them carry out the inspection as it's clear that they are great experts in their field. They are also just a really friendly and lovely bunch of people which is so welcome during moving, which can be quite a busy time. Everyone was so helpful, kind and friendly and really went above and beyond to support me throughout the process. The report is also really clear, detailed, professionally produced and easy to use - very happy with the service overall.

Really happy with my inspection and experience

I'm really glad that I booked an inspection by Housescan as Paul picked up many things I would not have noticed on my own. Leanne was extremely helpful to facilitate an earlier date for the inspection as my developers were being difficult and Paul was very friendly and highly knowledgeable and helpful giving me lots of tips on things I could do. I would highly recommend it! It's also worth going for the thermal imaging as it picked up that my radiators were not working and some points of leaks which will help with energy saving in the future too.

New build snag

Having completed on a new build and seen/heard of some horror stories it was important for me to get some reassurance over the build. After much research I chose HouseScan and I am pleased to report that I could not be happier with the service I received.
Leanne was excellent in the administration and Helen was brilliant. She arrived early, walked around the property to listen to my concerns and then talked me through the day. Helen provided the report the same day in a really clear PDF sent to the developers. Without question I would recommend this company.

Peace of mind for our new build.

very thankful for my housescan report, the inspector was very polite during the inspection and picked up a load of snags that we have now sent to Barratts to fix.

Excellent service, Extremely useful report.

Completely blown away by the service I received from Housescan! I have had numerous issues with my developer throughout the purchase of my new build, and have often felt like I've been fighting a losing battle on my own - but the support I received from the team at Housescan has been an absolute god-send.

Both during my inspection and in rectifying the issues since, I have felt like the inspector's number one priority. My report was available the same afternoon and included so many issues that I would have missed. The support team helped me push my issues with the builder when they were initially hesitant, and I'm certain they wouldn't have rectified as many of the issues had it not been for the report and continued support. Would highly recommend housescan.

Lost some confidence as a result of glaring missed snags

We had a HouseScan survey carried out on our 3 bedroom Avant home in late February 2022. Although c120 snags were highlighted by the report they were all minor or cosmetic so this gave us reassurance the build was relatively sound. The survey was carried out the day after handover, before we moved in.

However we were dissapointed when we went into the house the day after the HouseScan surveyor had been in to find some quite glaring snags we could see which had not been picked up by the surveyor. For example there was a large crack in a toilet and there were several long nails sticking out the garden fence.

To summarise, we effectively lost confidence in the survey as a result of the glaring snags which has been missed. I just hope there is nothing else more hidden which has been missed too.

Moreover I found out from site management that the inspector Housescan sent, used to work for Avant and knew several employees. That made me question the independence of such a surveyor.

Very Professional

I found Rob to be very thorough and very personable. He gave us advice on matters in regards to the snagging issues and was very helpful with general matters pertaining to our new build. I would be very happy to recommend Rob and HouseScan to anyone

Received an average service

Received an average service, the guy spent just a couple of hours at the property and even with myself helping identify visible issues a lot was missed during the inspection, with me discovering many issues after moving in, making it much harder or impossible to get them fixed by developer since they were not in the initial report.
Wouldn’t recommend.

House Scan

Darren has been very thorough in identifying a range of structural, safety &cosmetic defects within our home. We have our de-snag inspection pending. My dealings with HouseScan were fantastic from the very start. All very easy to engage and it was very clear that the inspector (Helen) was extremely experienced and very pleasant to deal with. I was pleasantly surprised at the level of detail that Helen went into and the amount of snags that she uncovered - including some major concerns - were far beyond what I expected. Thank you

Amazing

Amazing, Pippa and Paula were incredibly helpful arranging the snag inspection and rearranging it around the developers timeline. The the report our inspector has put together was incredibly detailed and getting it before completion is totally worth it!

Extremely pleased with the HouseScan…

Extremely pleased with the HouseScan team especially, Leanne Stowell, Pippa Gemmell and Helen Mackenzie.

From the time the initial appointment was booked, to the actual snagging taking place, the team have been responsive, patience and helpful.

The inspector arrived on time and identified an urgent issue with the plumbing straight away, the developers site manager was notified and the leak was fixed immediately.

A final report was produced the next day and was extremely detailed.

The report was easy to follow, each room was listed with a photo of the defect and a clear location was provided.

HouseScan even provided a few helpful email pointers as to how to respond the developers.

I look forward to working with HouseScan during the re inspection and highly recommend them.
