Excellent service. Thorough and friendly.

I was in two minds of whether or not to have a snagging survey done especially once I had moved into my new house. The house was presented very well by David Wilson Homes. However, I did decide to go ahead with the survey and I am glad I did, it was very thorough and has given me the confidence that the house is in good shape. The surveyor did pick up a number of issues which I am now resolving with the builder. I highly recommend Housescan Snagging Surveys.

My experience with HouseScan was positive. They were good at arranging the visit and attending, and the report is quite thorough.

I had a concern about the format of the report itself, as the images were very small and more often than not wouldn't quite show what the issue really is. You still have higher quality images accessible via the portal, but that's not quite easy to share with 3rd parties, such as managing agents or the developer.

After a bit of back and forth, I was contacted by Harry, the director, and we discussed the issue, and he confirmed this is something on their roadmap.

Most importantly this showed me that he & the business he runs, care about the customers, and their satisfaction. So while I would hope for a bit better initial response when something like this is raised (that's why 4*), I was happy with the service and would use HousScan again.

Senior inspector Darren R arrived at the property in plenty of time to start the inspection at 9 sharp.

He then proceeded to spend the next 8 hours going through the property with a fine tooth comb leaving no stone unturned.

He split the day down into 3 sections (thermal, outside and inside) stopping to showcase the issues at each stage and arm me with the information, terminology and NHBC standards needed to have a successful negotiation with my developer.

Without this inspection I'd have not personally noticed, nor flagged about 80% of the defects and £500 now to save yourself £10,000's later is a no brainer.

I originally bought the silver package but I'm very much considering paying for the desnag to have Darren come back and expertly review the fixed the developer puts in place.

We have bought a new build and weren't moving into it straight away so wouldn't be able to snag it properly. We received a very detailed report and where we didn't use it all, we were able to 'pick our battles' with the builder and get the important snags looked into right away. The pictures also really helped to show what the snag looks like. When spending that amount on a house it wasn't an issue spending a little more to have someone look through the house with a very detailed eye and pick up things we would never have. We have peace of mind now and can refer back to the report once we move in and find other issues.

Very thorough and detailed report. As we have bought a new build we felt it was worth the investment in a professional survey during the initial period when we can raise any issues with the builder. The report provided all the detail and images we need.

I have recently moved in to a newbuild property and Housescan was recommended to me by my neighbours which I am happy I used them.

A new build must!

As a first time buyer and a new build buyer I was incredibly nervous about the snagging stage! Rob from HouseScan was absolutely brilliant.

Although the build was relatively snag free - the peace of mind that comes from having a professional do a thorough inspection is priceless.

Rob took the time to explain all of the snags to me and was brilliant at reassuring me. The report was incredibly prompt and detailed with photographs and thermal images which clearly outline what needs to be fixed.

Excellent service and very easy to deal with. It was very refreshing to get prompt and helpful replies to my enquiries and the survey was carried out smoothly and efficiently.

When the home snagging took place, some important assessments were missed out. The business owner came and admitted that part of the inspection had been missed and rectified this mistake.

However, we've now been in the property for just 6 months and it turns out the pipe wasn't properly sealed (one of their assessments which had said was fine).

After hearing of horror shows from friends and family members after they moved into new build homes, I was positive I was going to book a professional snagging company if ever I were to move into a new build home, and blimey am I thankful I did..

My inspector was Darren who arrived early to take the time to tell me about his background, HouseScan and how the inspection will be structured and carried out. Throughout the inspection it became evident that I was in very capable hands as Darren was flagging significant defects that I would have never even considered, defects to do with fire regulations and standards etc. Not only was I impressed by Darren’s knowledge and expertise but he made sure to take the time to clearly explain the faults and potential issues that could arise if they’re not resolved, he was also very respectful of the property. The report I received was superb, it was meticulous in detail and provided all the photographic and thermal evidence I required to get these issues resolved.

Buying and moving into a new home is extremely stressful but I felt Darren helped alleviate a lot of the stress and worries I had regarding the build. Very pleased with our decision to employ the services of HouseScan. Our inspector Darren was extremely professional, knowledgeable and meticulous in his inspection of our new build. We decided to pay extra for the Thermal Imaging which identified several areas where we were losing heat. In addition Darren found numerous defects talking us through each and every one whilst spending over 6 hours at the property.
Within a couple of days I had a comprehensive report detailing every defect and supported by photographic evidence along with advice on how to proceed.
We found Darren to be very fair in his assessment of the property pointing out the good things as well as the bad. I have no hesitation in awarding HouseScan 5 stars for a brilliant service.

Used HouseScan recently for a snagging survey. Can not recommend them more, super professional, super diligent and completed the survey timely and well.
