Excellent service
Excellent service, from initial booking, changing the dates because the completion date changed, to the inspector who came to do the survey. Online report was available to view within 4 hours of inspection being completed. Fantastic, professional service.

Buying a new build for the first time…
Buying a new build for the first time and not being a builder I wanted to be sure my money was being well spent over the next 20-30 yrs. Home scan has certainly helped me start to achieve this, there snag list has raised a lot of niggling snags I definitely would not have seen or known could be a potential issue or just not acceptable.
My surveyor, Julie Darby, was a well experience and professional, she applied a very conscientious and caring approach to spotting all the points listed in my report, plus was very friendly and listened to any concerns I had, on top of this explained clearly why any particular points I raised may or may not be a concern or included in the report. Cant fault her for her service.
The report was also promptly completed and forwarded to me on full payment. Got to give HomeScan 5* so far, just need to wait for the de-snag report to complete review.

Excellent Service
We booked a survey at very short notice. The communication was excellent despite it being a weekend.
Mark the surveyor did a very through job and produced the report on the same day as the survey.

Very impressed with all interactions…
Very impressed with all interactions with HouseScan, from initial enquiry through to completion of snagging inspection and associated report. They even provided suggested wording for the email to the housing developer when sending them the snagging report. Currently awaiting their response but hopeful the detailed report will enable all issues that were identified by the inspector to be resolved.

Really brilliant service
Really brilliant service, super comprehensive and in-depth review our of our new house through Housescan. Our inspector Darren picked up issues with things like insulation and heat loss that we would have no idea about. Plus they gave some great insight into how to address these snagging issues with our builder in order to get them resolved in the best way possible. Definitely recommended!

Great snagging service
Great snagging service provided by professional, knowledgable and helpful team.
Everything from booking the snagging service, changing dates because of moved completion date, performing the snagging service and getting the report was done in a way that was both reassuring and proactive.
Not only were we reassured about the quality for the home we had just purchased, but we were given detailed reasons for why it was built well, things to look out for and advice on what to do next, including the ability to ask for specific legal justifications in case of issues with builder remediations, which we luckily did not need.
I would highly recommend HouseScan for anyone buying any property, small or big.

Impeccable service
Impeccable service. Julie was extremely pleasant, professional and it was a pleasure to have her in my house. Report was received only a few hours after the appointment and I can't fault this company.

Fantastic service.
I looked at the whole website of every snagging company I could find on the internet and I chose Housescan for four reasons:
1. They did the most checks.
2. They provide a de-snag service (coming back once all snags have been fixed to check they've been done properly).
3. They had the best customer service out of the few on my shortlist who I called and emailed.
4. They seemed from their website and communications to be very professional, as opposed to a one-man band.
The inspector who came was very nice, very thorough, and had eagle eyes (even spotting a chip on the top of the fridge door out of the corner of her eye while we were just chatting). She had travelled a long way but didn't mind answering some last questions from me just before leaving.
The inspection had to be rearranged at the last minute due to illness and Housescan did their best to rearrange it for as soon as possible (hence sending an inspector from outside the area). I asked if we could have the report within 48 hours instead of the usual 72 so we would have it before our courtesy visit, and they kindly said that would be no problem, even sending it later that same evening in the end.
They have sent helpful emails since the inspection explaining how to talk to the developer and when to organise the de-snag.
The only small criticism I have is that it would be nice to receive a list of snags in spreadsheet format for ordering and filtering as well as the report with pictures.
Our courtesy visit started with the builder saying that snaggers just list hundreds of small things that don't count, and that he'd probably have to disregard most of them. (Everyone we've spoken to from the developer has done the same thing: they really try to discourage snaggers, which I believe shows that they know they are effective!) But by the end of the visit he freely admitted that he couldn't argue with almost everything on the list.
We had a few snags that would have cost us money down the line, so the inspection was undoubtedly worth it. But I would still have said it was worth it even if it had found nothing major, as it gives peace of mind. When spending hundreds of thousands of pounds on a house, I can't imagine not spending a few hundred more to make sure it's a good one.

We are so glad that we employed a professional snagger and company
We brought a new house and decided to have the property snagged by a professional and thank goodness we did.
After doing a lot of research we decided to employ Housescan, when we called we spoke to Leanne who talked us through the process in a language that was easy to understand.
We booked a date and time for the snagger to call, however our builder then changed the date for completion there was no hassle with changing the date with Housescan in fact they were so helpful.
Eventually after 4 more differing dates from the builders Darren Ramsbottom (the snagger) arrived at the property and went through the process and what will happen and how long it should take (about 4 hours) however he spent nearly 6 hours the house was in such a state finding over 300 defects.
The report was sent to us with photos and recommendations on how to proceed, any problems that we encountered with the builders we phoned him and he was so helpful he told us what to do.
We would recommend Housescan to anyone purchasing a new property and have done.
Brilliant service and staff thank you Leanne,Pippa and Darren.

Choosing HouseScan to carry out a snagging survey on our new home will help to bolster the concerns we have already raised with our builder and has highlighted many more. The booking process, flexibility and level of communication has been great. Chris the inspector was professional, thorough and honest throughout. The thermal imaging results were also very telling in our case and well worth it. Thank you HouseScan 5*

Extremely pleased with the service
Extremely pleased with the service. Bookings team were responsive and flexible, inspector arrived on time and took me through some of the 70 snags that were detected. Very surprising to see that I had that many on a highly reputable builder - money well spent.

Smooth professional process
The whole process is very smooth and user friendly, all of the paperwork happening through an online account. My inspector, Julie Darby, was absolutely lovely but also thorough and exacting and didn't leave out any details. Would definitely recommend.

Great service with a very detailed report. As I have the international service, I’m looking forward to an equally professional follow-up with the developer on the issues identified in the snagging report.

The snag survey has worked out better…
The snag survey has worked out better than I would have thought. Mark came round and was very thorough and knowledgeable about what the required standard is. Mark was complementary about the build quality but noted down snags that we wouldn't have found in a million years.
I was a bit apprehensive about giving the final report to Taylor Wimpey and what the reaction would be but they were actually happy to have all the snags in a list that we could go through together.

Excellent service - gold package
I'm so glad we opted to get a pro in to do the job. They've been brilliant thus far.
First of all they flexed to our situation - our planned move in date changed and we had to cancel the pre-scheduled appointment. When we finally moved they visited within a few days and picked up on 177 snags. Most of them were minor but they picked up on things that we wouldn't have, that given time would potentially become bigger problems. They even picked up on a couple of major snags that we were oblivious to.
The customer service has been excellent thus far. It did take a while to receive the final bound report, but as we had an electronic version sent through really quickly, this wasn't a major issue.
They're due to come back to re-snag. Hopefully that will go just as smoothly.

I am so glad I had this done
I am so glad I had this done. Quite a few people tried to dissuade me saying it would be a waste of money. My scan came up with 75 points for the developer to deal with - about 50 of those I really cared about and about 30 of them I would have taken ages to discover on my own if I even knew what to look for! It is well worth the money.
