The whole experience from purchase and advice from David in the store to delivery was almost perfect. Ian and Paul delivered my chair with professionalism, cheerfulness and efficiency. They arrived when they said they would, fitted the chair together and gave a demonstration as to its working. Doing their final check it was discovered that two bits of Velcro had not been fixed to the back. A telephone call to the office was made and I received a further call from HSL to arrange a technician to complete the work

Visited my local HSL showroom in ST5 on 22/02/2026 to purchase a riser-recliner chair. I was greeted by the lovely Julie and a hot drink and biscuits were provided for me! I was in the store for approx 1hr. I was shown all of my options. At no point was I rushed. I felt listened to - and that made a big difference. There was no 'hard sell'. I came away from the store happy with the chair I had picked. Thank you very much for the kindness and patience shown.

We have just placed an order at the Newcastle under Lyme store for a sofa and chair. The customer service was excellent - John was extremely professional and helpful with many suggestions to enable us to purchase the appropriate furniture for our needs.
He gave us plenty of time to try out the furniture but was on hand to answer all our queries- overall a very good experience - excited now for the delivery - thank you John.

Sales assistant in store was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. The chair was delivered today and the delivery team were efficient and friendly. So far, I give this company five stars.

We needed HSL to visit our house with samples of armchairs we were interested in . Fallon , and her colleague from the Newcastle-Under-Lyme store came with everything needed to choose the right product . Our order is now complete and we look forward to many hours of relaxing in our new armchairs , well done all at HSL.

I have just had a visit from the company for a consultation and have decided to purchase a chair. I think it is a great deal and value for money. The people that attended were Julie and Mike and they were incredibly helpful, they were friendly and made the process quick and easy. I would recommend this experience as I got to see the chair in my own living room, and try it for size and comfort. I am now looking forward to my chair arriving!

Took my husband to show him my choice and dealt with Fallon also friendly and efficiently but everyone in store each time has been, plus a coffee offered! nice touch, finely ordered plus a few accessories. Thanks to everyone lovely store well laid out, non of the staff are in your face & pushing at all, they just help with the parking advice if needed, on site parking a huge bonus..

My first visit to HSL Newcastle Staffs at the end of January. I started to look around and a gentleman named John asked if he could help, I told him what I was looking for. He was very informative about various options and prices, there was no hard sell, just very relaxed he even made me a cup of coffee A very positive experience.

David was patient and informative without the hard sell and very helpful in presenting the options. This was a big purchase for my 81 year old mum but David was a pleasure.

We visited the Newcastle-under-Lyme branch of HSL to choose a riser recliner chair. David was very knowledgeable, thorough and patient. There was plenty of choice of chairs and we were advised to take our time to try each one properly before choosing. David explained everything during the purchase and we were very happy with the service. Glad that there was no high pressure sales.

My husband and I had a home visit from Julie and Mike to demonstrate a rise and recliner chair to my husband. They were very helpful and professional and we were very impressed with their service and the product and have ordered a chair.

We have been looking for a riser recliner chair for a few days, and have visited several shops. None of the chairs we tested in shops we visited previously were suitable. Most were uncomfortable and/or too small. However, When we arrived at HSL it was clear that this shop was well run, tidy and clean, in contrast to other shops we had visited. We were welcomed by a sales person, and asked what our needs were. Once explained, the salesman showed us what would be suitable. The chair we tested was superb - really comfortable, in complete contrast to the chairs we had seen in other shops. It was just what we wanted, so we bought it. A bit expensive, but ideal for our purpose.

From start to Finnish service was brilliant.
David our sales man was interested in getting Offer just how Mum wanted, refreshments given and toilet at hand.
Did not rush or leave our attention , 100% quality service Have had things in past and quality then. Today the added discount also brilliant .

I visited the Newcastle store after trying other brand furniture stores and the difference was obvious from being greeted by David at the door to my purchase, it was really helpful to try different chairs to find one that fitted my aching back whilst sitting on the sofa I chose it was obvious I'd made the right choice as I was feeling no pain or having to move about to get comfortable. I view my purchase of a sofa with matching chair and riser recliner as an investment in health and to obtain a substantial 45% discount on the recliner was a welcome bonus. I cannot praise David enough for his help and for sharing his wealth of knowledge, if only all sales staff met your companies obvious high standard.

Having damaged my knee and needing a comfortable chair I rang HSL on a Saturday morning. They arranged for Julie to bring 3 chairs for me to try on the Monday morning. Julie was very helpful and patient. The chair is very comfortable and just what I needed. Duncan from Burnley delivered it on the Thursday within 15 minutes of the time quoted the night before which is amazing as this is not an easy address to find. Wonderful service throughout. I can’t thank them enough.

This is about the Aysgarth chair having received my new chair and used it for a few days I find it very comfortable and pleased about the help of the Newcastle staff.
So the controller with the isolation switch is a great idea, the heat pad at the rear is perfect and the fact that it switches off on timer I think is perfect also the solid foot rest is ideal generally I recommend this chair.
I just wish it was more upto date ie phone charging or a usb A or usd C point the head rest could be softer and movable and the last point is if the legs could be higher for medical reasons but that’s just my thoughts many thanks HSL your still top of the list

The shop staff were very helpful and patience, we were very pleased with the information we received. The delivery team phoned 25 mins. before arriving, Paul and Jon unpacked everything and removed all the packaging. The furniture was assembled and placed where we wanted them. The assembly process was explained and everything checked over and working. A very professional service well done.
