I'm a great fan of Innov8 and these are my 4th pair of shoes, so let's start with the positives. My previous fell shoes were the 275's and therefore vhad to switch when these were discontinued. Mudtalon's - the sole and 8 mm lugs have fantastic grip - on loose stony ground, steep & heathery ground and wet short grassy slopes - as to be expected from Innov8. The footbed is more supportive and comfortable than the 275's. Now the negatives - in moving to a new shoe I used the Measurement Guide and measuring my feet found I was a half size larger with a wide foot recommendation. I chose the shoes on this basis but was disappointed with the fit. Walking around the house was fine and I was pleased with the fit & comfort of the shoe. However, on the fell the shoes have too much lateral/rolling movement when descending. Whereas the 275's felt like an extension of the foot the Mudtalons aren't. I think I should have chosen a Precision Fit and my regular shoe size.

Love, love, love these shoes! I ran a 50 miles race in them and my feet felt great. Lots of room in the toe box, no toe crowding. Fits my heel. Very light. I will buy them again!

They have only lasted about 300km before they've started to split. Excellent grip but the hard insole isn't comfortable for.long races for me.

Comfort : and fit is sound I'm a wide footed sasquatch so to find a shoe that caters for wide feet is some what difficult. Quality : i buy inov8 shoes mainly have tried and tested other brands but always come back to inov as the shoes last longer. Value : Inov8 not let me down yet. Ihave in past spent more on a shoe other brands,but only due to inov not having my size. Now I shop straight from inov8 website rather than an online retailer and they have my size instock always(touch wood)🤞.

I was worried they would feel like running on cleats but in reality, even on firmer ground they are comfortable. The wide fit has lots of room in the toe box. The traction is great and really noticable on the downhills. Inov8 shoes seem to last way longer than other brands so I keep coming back for more.

These are the first trail shoes I have had that actually fit. I have wide and and the wide size is actually wide. They are really comfy, great support while being soft and responsive and the grip is stunning giving fantastic confidence in steep slippery descents. Amazing shoes!!

first impression is very good, perfect grip, nice fit even for my wider foot, however slightly tight across the top where the shoelaces start so I need to keep them quite loose - but so far this doesn't seem to be a problem. As a first-time buyer I'd be really worried about the fit across the top for the full price, but I bought them online at a discount and I'm glad I did. Thanks, INOV-8 :)

My feet are narrow, 93mm, the mudtalon with insert is too tight at the moment but I hope it will stretch in. Without insert it's perfect. Unless you have very narrow feet I would size up in width and add an orthotic plus spacer if needed. No other complaints excellent quality, love running in these - especially in sloppy mud!

Owning several models of Inov8, I was excited to catch these at such a great discount. Probably about 30 miles on them, I noticed the rand starting to peel away from the mesh on one of the uppers at my metatarsal line. Not a huge deal but needed to get on it with Barge cement to prevent it from getting worse. These are the most comfy of all the Inov8 models I own and even with the issue ( could just be how my foot and joint angle aligns with product), I love them. Glad I bought them at half price…..not gonna lie!
