We bought all the parts of a bannister from J & J to fit an awkwardly long straight case which required an extra newel.

Before our order was finalised, a representative called us to ask whether we needed the lengths of newels we had ordered, and that we could instead go for shorter and more purpose fit newels, which of course we did – and we were saved nearly £200 by J & J in the process. They also asked us what the going of the staircase was to ensure we didn't overspend.

This is what customer service should be like everywhere!

The bannister parts we ordered are of finest quality. They're exceptionally turned flawless sapele wood (African mahogany) and will last decades or longer in our house.

All in all the best experience we could have hoped to have – polite, efficient & honest service, beautiful product delivered promptly, and all at an affordable price.

Karen was a great help providing quotes and I was really impressed by the ability to provide custom components, we have an odd sized primary Newel post, and the quick turnaround of the quotes was appreciated.

The products are not cheap, but they are well worth the cost as the quality is superb. Delivery was in their own vehicle and the packaging was good.

The carpenters who installed the staircase were very impressed by the quality of the products and now recommended J and J stairparts to their customers.

I have just bought a complete staircase from J&J the quality is more than first class. The service and communication was excellent.

I was in need of oak window sills. I was sceptical of this company as their quotes were coming in 60% less than others. Sod it, I gave them a go !! Not disappointed. Excellent communication throughout. Friendly voice at end of the phone. They cut the wood to the exact size I needed and the quality far surpassed what I expected. Even packaged the wood carefully with fragile stickers on it. Highly recommended.

Over the years, I have used J&J Stairparts for a number of projects at various properties and I have never had any problems, until today, when after placing an order, I received a call from Andrew, checking my order. It turns out, I had got my measurments wrong. He called me two more times after noticing another of MY MISTAKES, everything is now sorted. In todays climate this company went above and beyond, if more companies treated there customers like J&J this country would be great again.

1st class company from start to finish. I spoke with Karen at the first contact, explained what I wanted for my new stairs, oak newels, handrails and baserails with glass and she truly knew her stuff, told me how to get the least waste by correct measurements with some alterations that I needed to look the best. Karen is absolutely amazing, so polite and just there to help not sell. Due to some problems my end, John and James got involved and I have to say, even though these are owners I still received the same service and they are all 100% customer focused and just want us to be happy with the home changes we make with hard earned cash. Bottom line, this company and the people in it are the best to deal with so anyone needing anything they sell, you need to use J&J not just for quality products but for the overall start to finish service you will receive. I ordered a bespoke shape oak handrail just 2 weeks before Christmas, to match an existing handrail - so that my 92 year old mother would have 2 handrails to allow her to get up the stairs.

The instructions to measure the parts and angles were simple and clear. Then they sent a drawing over for me to confirm it was correct. Good contact with the delivery and the parts delivered on time. I looked around on the internet, as you do, for the stair parts I wanted to install a complete new glass stairway. J&J were the only company I could find that supplied exactly what I was looking for. Not sure of how to order the correct sizes, lengths etc after a couple of phone calls to the company I had all the information I needed. I placed my order and they delivered when they said they would, no delays. After having the stairs installed a few months later, when the glass was fitted one of the glass panels had a scuff in it. I contacted J&J thinking they might be a little awkward due to it being a few months since the delivery but they didn’t quibble or try to make it difficult. They ordered a new panel and sent it out to me. They even delivered to a different part of the UK than the original delivery due to me working away. I have to recommend this company to anyone looking for their stair parts.
