33% failure rate on their floodlights
A little over 2 years ago I had a local company fit a CCTV and floodlight system to my house. In total there were 6 floodlights (JCC JC45123BK) installed, three on the rear of my house, one on each side and one on the front. A good month ago I discovered that two of the lights on the rear had ceased working. I contacted the local company as these lights are advertised as good for at least 25,000 hours of use. If they have been on a total of 100 hours in 2 years that would be over stating the case. The local company contacted JCC to see if they were prepared to do anything given in just over 2 years I have experienced a 33% failure rate on their product. Long story short, they're not prepared to do anything because they are out of warranty. My advice to anyone looking to install floodlights is to steer clear of JCC products. They are made in China and are clearly not fit for purpose. Given a 33% failure rate of their product in 2 years one might have expected JCC to show some goodwill given they were only just out of warranty. Not a chance. Do yourselves a favour, avoid JCC products (sold through many other electrical distributors so be careful when purchasing) and buy a better product - I will - to replace them.
Why does the JC3175 Swoop range not accept MR16 LED bulbs?
Some 7 years ago I purchased 10 JC3175 Swoop range 50 watt adjustable spotlights for MR16 Halogen lamps. I decided to replace the halogen bulbs with MR16 LED lamps to save running costs and reduce heat generation.
The luminaire front will not fit into place over LED MR16 lamps. Why is this? All LED MR16 lamps I have tried seem to be longer (deeper) than halogen ones.
I note the JC3175 Swoop range is no longer available. The concept is good and is the perfect solution for illuminating pictures on the wall because the Swoop concept allows the pictures to be moved at will.
Poor service, poor quality products and a wasteful company outlook.
4 year old New flat came fitted with FGLED6 lights, so far one has completely broken and 3 others have at least 2 LEDs not working inside them.
Poor quality lighting that isn't fit to last, worse part is that on contacting JCC they only sell parts for people with a 2 year warranty, so I can't even replace one. Due to no other 6LED lights currently on the market, whatever I put up would look different, meaning I will need to replace all 8 lights, which seems really wasteful, they should sell spare parts for all.
Poor service, poor quality products and a wasteful company outlook. Avoid at all costs!!!
We carried out a £500k refurbishment of…
We carried out a £500k refurbishment of our pub in 2016 and due to failture of downlights they were all replaced by JCC. Now we are out of the warranty period we have come to purchase new bulbs, which only JCC manfucature to be told they are now discsontinued and they will not allow me to buy any from them (even though they have them in stock as they were prepared to send me 1 as a goodwill gesture) This means as they blow I will have to purchase complete new units and pay an electrician to install them.
WILL NEVER BUY A JCC PRODUCT AGAIN
Do Not Buy JCC Lighting Products
Have been in my refurbished house for 4 1/2yrs, spitting distance from JCC Lighting.Total of 38 JC94473WH FGLED6 downlights. No Warranty paperwork left by developer but with an advertised 10yr warranty and premium price my expectations were for a long trouble free life. From late 2015 they started failing and contacting JCC resulted in one token replacement with the understanding it was a goodwill gesture only. I then replaced the next failure with a purchase from the local electrical stockist Edmundson . From that point I have been removing fittings from less populated areas of the house to replace failures in rooms with more to retain a common appearance/light output .The less populated areas have been replaced with alternative manufacturers products. Yesterday the 5th light started flashing so I will have to cannibalise another bathroom.
and purchase alternative products.
Poor product and very poor customer service
Correctly fitted over 50 lights for a commercial project, at least 20% have failed in 18 months. Guarantees do not mean much to JCC, they have been apathetic in sorting the problem and have little desire to help me or my client. I believe they honestly think the issues will magically disappear if they ignore them for long enough. We have been back to site at least six times and JCC will not acknowledge there may be a problem with the batch. We are left with the prospect of replacing individual lights for the remainder of the guarantee period which is unfair on both the client and ourselves.
DO NOT BUY JCC LIGHTS!!!!!
JCC Downlighters
We ordered 16 downlighters which were fitted by an electrician. A fault caused 4 of them to blow together 2 years and 1 month after purchase. We didn't register for the extended warranty which was a mistake as this would have taken it from 2 years to 10 years. However we contacted JCC they were sympathetic to our circumstances and offered replacements. Found their communication by phone and emai to be excellent
QUALITY PRODUCTS WITH GREAT WARRANTY
I have had JCC products in my home for the last 5 years - at least 60 lamps of all descriptions including FGLED,SKYBLADE & HYBRID.
There have been some isolated problems with some of the lamps but when I’ve contacted JCC through the on line warranty platform they have been nothing but professional & prompt in dealing with the issue & posting a replacement.
I must add that at the time of purchase & installation I made sure all documents were kept, enabling me to register the 10 year warranty for all the products - this is maybe where others have fallen short!!.
Keep up the good work.
Shame you can't give Nil stars
Shame you can't give Nil stars. Stay away from this company. They do not honour the 10 year guarantee. They ignore emails when they run out of excuses even when you contact the manager. DISGRACEFUL COMPANY THAT SHOULD BE STOPPED FROM TRADING. Lights will fail and they wont replace. With 50 lights fitted Im facing a hefty bill to replace them all. Electricians have stopped using this company due to failure and their shocking customer service and attitude.
Continuously failing but you have to pay the electrician bill to fit the replacements!
JCC aren’t worthy of even one star but unfortunately you can’t give zero stars!
I have over 20 JCC downlights in my house, these were fitted in 2015 and I think the majority have been replaced, some more than once.....the LED6 are atrocious and if you read the reviews, notorious for failing.
Beware of the ‘10 year warranty’; they sent me replacement parts rather than the whole unit, told me I had to pay for the electricians cost to fit and then after all that, they still didn’t work.
I’m now taking legal advice because it’s shocking service.
Please save yourself money and hassle and find an alternative supplier.
Meaningless warranty
As with other reviews I have had several FGLED lights fail and I have tried to claim under the 10 year warranty but they are simply ignoring me.
The lights are now discontinued and they only offer a 3 year warranty on those, so I doubt that will be honoured either.
Go and buy from elsewhere....
EDIT - so far had 23 fail and no reply from JCC the warranty team.
JCC lighting was fitted to a new…
JCC lighting was fitted to a new conversion. In total I think around 10 down lighters. After about 3 years one of the lights failed. I contacted JCC and they asked for proof of purchase, which was fair enough, they also offered an extended 10 year warranty! Since then I think 3 have failed, but have been replaced without question. I have marked this as 3 stars for quality of the light, but I would give 5 stars for the company and the speed at which they replace faulty items.
Bought 22 jcc downlights for a kit hen…
Bought 22 jcc downlights for a kit hen project, reassured by their 10 year guarantee and huge stated life expectancy. Over a period of 2 to 3 years, five have failed completely. My local Denmans guy told me that there is a known issue and to contact jcc. What a waste of time. I asked if there was a known issue with the fittings. "I can confirm that there have been no recall notices issued for this item". Nice slippery side step. After several further exchanges, the warranty advisor advised that there had been an "elevated failure rate" but that longevity wasn't part of consumer rights legislation. In summary, if their products fail, they have a team of advisors on hand to evade helping you in any way.
Should be no stars....
I'd give no stars if that was available. Lots of failing lights. No back up service. Stay away from any JCC light fittings. So many other manufacturers are better.
Better with normal replaceable bulbs
Same as other reviews! Ten year guarantee but only if you register for extended guarantee. You would think that the offer of such a guarantee would install confidence in the product! Been in 3 years and replaced 4 out of 12 already.
Company not interested in even offering a discount if you buy direct.
Would not recommend this product or if you do buy them make sure you register the guarantee as you will need to replace them
I would give JCC zero stars if I could
I would give JCC zero stars if I could.
WARNING DO NOT BUY JCC PRODUCTS. THEY DO NOT HONOUR THE WARRANTY unless you or your fitter registers them at time of fitting.
They are quite happy to charge a premium price for their product which factors in the warranty but T&Cs weasel words make the warranty not worth the paper it is printed on.
The led lights fail after 2/3 years by then JCC will have discontinued the product.
Unreliable and no service
I had three JCC FGLED6 downlights fitted in November 2015 in my hallway by an electrician. Two have failed and JCC will not replace the latest one because an extended warranty wasn't registered in 2015. I was planning to use JCC products for various room updates but due to their unreliability and absence of after sales service I shall go elsewhere. 66% failure rate after 3 years and no acceptance of liability is a good way to switch off customers.
Be aware they will not honour the 10…
Be aware they will not honour the 10 year guarantee on their downlighters unless you or your fitter registers them at time of fitting.I have personaly suffered 4 failures in 3 and a half years.
Constant failure
Had 16 tilt and dim spotlights fitted just over 2 years ago.
All have failed at least once.initially replaced by electrician but he has had enough so I need to replace as JCC will not honour 10 year guarantee as I have no proof of purchase even though I can show pics and invoice for unnamed spotlights.
Needles to say I will choose a different brand
Poor Products and Useless 2 Year Guarantee
2 poor exterior floodlights that I bought. The PIRs are both flooded with water which stops the light functioning in the correct manner - oh and no idea how the water got in as they are on sheltered walls. Email support didn't really help, just was apathetic. 2 year guarantee should involve the manufacturer replacing or fixing the item, not someone else.
