Great range of machines and weights, love that there is a private ladies gym and that it's open 24 hours. Music isn't too loud which is good. Decent changing facilities with places to charge devices. Hygiene and cleanliness of women's facilities could really be improved though. Also ladies gym doesn't have enough cardio machines to match it's busy hours, which means most of us have to use the mixed gym when we don't want to. During busy hours, machines are rarely available.
Variety of classes which is great. Easy entrance into the building with the app. Lack of staff around sometimes is annoying, not sure who to go to if there is an issue. Also would be good if it was easier for new joiners I.e. someone to speak to on their first day, including a tour of the gym.
Overall good gym and works for me.

I liked the fact that the gym is 24 hours open, which gives me flexibility to use the gym anytime. However in the ladies section the equipment is not very much, there's only few treadmills and couple of cross trainers. During the day it gets very busy and sometimes people are on there for more than half an hour. Iv tried at different times in the day it's the same.
The jd team members are very helpful and they are polite and I can see that there are more trainers than before.

I was unaware that JD offered a women-only space. Had I known, I would have joined a year earlier. The privacy is exceptional, and I am very pleased with it.

Nobody re rack his weight.
Overcrowded too long waiting for machines or dumbell.
Machines are not arranged by serial wise like I am doing chest exercises all exercises of chest I am done in 2nd floor but the pec fly is on 3rd floor
I like gym and exercise areas but Changing area service should be improved regularly. Baths and toilets should be cleaned regularly after short time intervals. Thank you.
I spent money for 1 month membership and they automatically logged me out the app so now i cant use my membership anymore

The showers smell nasty and the drainage system seems off, it needs better maintenance

The place is busy and people are friendly. Sometimes too much people and you have to wait to use the facility like the treadmill for example.

(Newtown JD Gym) The gym is nice and lovely and I like that it has a female only area, however the female changing area is dirty most of the time, I have only been there two times since I have joined, but both times I didn’t get a good impression of the female changing area, I cannot go to a gym where I don’t feel comfortable having a shower or getting changed because of hygiene reasons

Terrible gym, dirty, nobody cleans wet floor. There is a scarcity of plates and some equipment

Better machines in the women sections, half of the machines were broken or out of order so more would be better!

First of all the changing rooms are probably the dirtiest and stinkiest I’ve ever been to, every time I need to use the restroom I try my best to avoid it since there is always pee in the floor and the tissue dispenser doesn’t even work half the time. There’s some locker that look like they’ve been damaged for a while and under the benches look like hell, if I was to ever drop something under a bench and reach for it (which I did) I’d be scared that something would bite me under there.
There isn’t any ventilation in there so expect the most humid, smelly room. And there’s the equipment they have, most machines are fine but some are rusty and aren’t sturdy enough to make you feel safe while working out.
A chest machine in particular was broken for about two months along with a couple others but don’t get me started with the rust on the sit up bench, it looks like it going to collapse any day now but it’s still helpful while quite unsafe looking to use. Since it’s a small gym the range of equipment is a bit limited so I’d recommend pure gym instead which is still near jd gym. In conclusion it’s a dirty gym with poor equipment and sometimes makes me wonder if it’s worth it to be paying £22-23 pounds a month for it, they really need to up their budget for this place.
