Compared to all the other jd gyms in the region it is the poorest in quality. Equipment is old, lacks machines you'd expect at even a gym group. Showers are touch and go the stench is something else.

It’s nice and clean however it’s hard to get on the treadmill as the users takes too long on it there should be a limit so someone else gets the chance to go on it

The gym equipment needs to be serviced and updated. Gym area would benefit from a good clean.

Good gym very clean and good equipment but the ladies only area is not ok, it is always very busy and most days that I have been I have been unable to get a tred mill, if this continues I will have to join else where

Overall a decent gym but I believe the gym is a bit overcrowded at times and the wait times for equipment is a bit discouraging as there are not many multiple weight training equipment or many multiple targeted cardio equipment such as the stair master. Women’s section is always crowded when I go and not seeing clearly on a wall what classes are on does not help when trying to join.

I’ve been a member of this gym for a few months now, and I am seriously disappointed. The machines are always broken—good luck trying to find a treadmill that actually works. It’s frustrating to pay a membership fee for equipment that is constantly out of order. Clearly, maintenance is not a priority here.
Don’t even get me started on the bathrooms. The toilets are consistently dirty, and the smell is unbearable at times. It’s obvious they’re not cleaned regularly, which is unacceptable for a place where hygiene should matter.
This gym has so much potential, but the lack of upkeep and basic cleanliness ruins it.
The gym is great has everything you need the main problem is the men's changing rooms and sauna smell of urine and it's very strong everytime I go there it makes me feel sick. I am thinking to cancel my membership at the end of this month I just joined a few days ago but the other members tell me it's like this everyday

The gym itself has many great features, however, there is much room for improvements. Half the machines in the woman’s only section do not work, the weights are too low and mismatched. It is also incredibly hot in the woman’s section and there’s aren’t a lot of machines to use. The changing rooms and bathroom have a weird odour and the app is incredibly basic compared to their competitors apps (PureGym). The app doesn’t even enable you to see how many people are in the gym and theirs is no interactiveness with consumers.

More than half of the treadmill machines are not working in the ladies only section.
People literally queue up for the machine which is really annoying. They can clearly be fixed hence why I don’t understand why they don’t fix it!!!!

I have returned back to jd after 5 years and it’s still the same! had the worst experience training and its only been a week of joining back. The ladies cardio section - 3x treadmill is out of order. I tried using the treadmill upstairs where half way throughout my workout the treadmill stopped working which distracted my workout. And let me not start on the hygiene- it has a damp urine odour everywhere.

the gym is really nice and has nice facilities. i feel like though closing the changing rooms after midnight kind of defeats the purpose of a 24hour gym? also the staff aren’t the best of help we had to be the one to ask questions and for them to be welcoming and show us around, tell us about the gym and how the whole system works with the app and everything. they kind of just expected you to know which i think is unfair. otherwise it’s a nice gym the girls section is nice, the changing rooms do smell a bit but wasn’t expecting anything different tbh

Faulty equipment. Out of action notices on over 5 machines in one area. Having to wait around for a turn to use equipment and others gym users waiting behind you in a queue to use the same equipment. Disappointed with facilities. Floor in changing area was wet with no notices in place. Overall not very happy with recent experience considering the gym fee has increased since the last time I was a member

My experience was positive overall, but the gym could be a bit cleaner. Since gyms are known to be places where germs can spread easily, I would suggest more frequent cleaning of the bathrooms, along with providing additional cleaning supplies for members to wipe down equipment. More hand sanitising stations would also be helpful.

I love that this gym is open 24 hours a day. It is great to see separate areas designated for men and women across the three floors. I am currently having personal training sessions with Selvin Robinson which has given me an even better experience and variety at the gym because I am getting opportunities to improve my cardiovascular fitness through boxing as well as improve my muscular strength with weight training. The only reason i am not able to give the gym 5 stars is because i often see dirty tissues left all over the place even though bins are provided and the car park is full of rubbish. A little more maintenance is likely to solve this issue.

The equipment is broken. Staff is not visible to support/help. Car park is full of trash. Women area is tiny and hardly ever all the machines working. Since past 2 years, Locker rooms ceiling has been leaking. No repair carried out instead they put a plastic bucket to collect leaking water.

I just joined the gym. But was disappointed when I saw the toilets men. You need to really do something about that.

Such a disappointing visit to the Birmingham branch. The cleanliness was horrific. Most likely lack of cleaners. Gym is not up to standard, starting using the treadmill and one part of the attachment fell apart. Cubicles smell horrible and clearly don’t get cleaned! I understand its a public gym with constant people attending but have attended other gyms and it is not as bad as this branch! Very disappointing and had to unfortunately cancel my membership the same day!
