Good for the most part, could use a few tweaks
I’ve been coming for a few months now and for the most part pleased with the gym.
The classes are good and there are lots of other women training there so it doesn’t feel like a lads gym for the most part.
However, I really wish they’d do a general compulsory induction for all new joiners (I asked for one when I joined, but the guy just tried to sell me a PT session and chat me up).
Not only would it have helped me maximise the equipment I am using, but also would have meant I did so safely without having to use trial and error to get it right.
Additionally, I think it would help promote some basic gym etiquette and manners between all gym users (many a time I have had someone knock into me on the stairs or yell across me on the treadmill to their mates elsewhere).
As also mentioned in other reviews, the selected gym music is really aggressive and played really loudly, and the WiFi is absolutely pants so both listening to own music and leaving the gym, can be a bit of a task!
Overall good value for money, but with a few tweaks it could be absolutely brilliant.

The music.
The music is intensely loud in this gym and I can’t even hear my own music in my earphones properly over it! It can be really frustrating when you want to concentrate on a lift and you’ve got some super annoying song that isn’t your vibe at all drowning out your own music while you are trying to get into a particular head space to shift the weight.
Also, for people who might be autistic or have health complications with their ears like hypersensitivity to loud noise (hyperacusis) this can be really damaging and overwhelming.
I’m not saying don’t have music in the gym, that would be ridiculous, but I think it’s fair to say that the music could be at a more reasonable level that is still loud enough to maintain the atmosphere of the gym. I spoke to staff about the music before but don’t think they were really interested.
Other than this it’s a really nice gym and staff seem cordial enough.

Liam the general manager was very helpful as he guided us through the gym, with his positivity and knowledge I was made to feel right at home. Thanks to him and kid enthusiasm I no longer need to find a new gym.

The manager (big lad with a northern accent) was incredibly helpful, I am new to the gym and wasn’t too sure he made me feel welcomed, credit to the company. Deserves a pay rise!

The overall experience is good but the music is SO loud which seems silly because people are either listening to their own stuff on headphones or trying to talk to each other but having to shout to be heard.

I was led to believe by your marketing…
I was led to believe by your marketing that JDgyms would be better than puregym or any other major commercial gym brand in the UK. Sadly that was ridiculous and false, your benches are awful they’re too low to the ground the height of the bar is either to far up or too low, the leather on the benches is the worst I’ve ever use it has no grip whatsoever meaning when I was benching fairly heavy I injured my shoulder even though I was wearing a top that had rubber on the back and shoulders to stop slipping. The gym that I go to in Bristol half the time the air conditioning isn’t even working so we are in a metal tin cooking from the summer heat. Even when you do have the AC on it’s so bad it’s like some one whispered the word cool air instead of actually cooking the building. The machines are terrible and lack the inherent ability to adjust any and all of the seating positions for some reason so I’m stuck using the shoulder press machine at an angle that hurts my shoulder and I can’t do anything about it as the machine sucks. Also at the gym I’m going to there’s seemingly only one leg extension machine for some reason who thought that was a good idea. Hundreds of people go that gym every week and you have one leg extension machine that isn’t very good as the weight seemingly changes mid way throw the moment at the bottom of the movement the resistance is ridiculous high but towards the middle it seems to be nonexistent.

everything is nice and clean. I Don't like that there's no one to show you the gym as a starter. In 1 week I never seen anyone that I can ask if I don't know how to use a device.I must ask some other people working out for help. No introduction in the gym no support. No one at the entrance . If there's staff you can't recognise them . I've seen no one in 1 week I've been coming at 9 am till 10 am. Will be nice to have someone to show you how to use some device or ask for help.

Great welcoming service
Great welcoming service. Superb vibe, decor, lighting and music. Lots of treadmills out of action though. I’ve not been when it’s busy but lack of machines when busy would be very frustrating. Same in lots of gyms. Suggestion: Could have staff members walking around correcting posture if they see bad technique. They can always tell who the novices are like me. Great gym though. Thoroughly Recommended.
