Changing rooms not very clean at all
Changing rooms not very clean at all, went on Monday and Thursday and was clear they hadn't been cleaned during this time. Also no soap in toilets and multiple toilets blocked.

Good gym
Good gym, lots of equipment and classes. Full of students.
Pilates has changed to be at different, more inconvenient times which is kind of sad.
Not sure how often the gym equipment gets cleaned as there’s no wipes out. The staff have also said that they don’t do much cleaning.
Some of the equipment is broken and has been for a year or so, might need replacing.
Toilets aren’t always very clean…

Love the gym and the sauna but women regularly walk into the male changing rooms to clean etc. If a man were to do this, there would be uproar.

Thank you for taking the time to leave your review. We are sorry to hear that in this instance you were unhappy with the circumstances.
Other than ensuring our members safety and enjoyment whilst in our gyms we also have a duty to keeping our changing rooms clean, this means they need to be checked regularly.
Where possible a male cleaner will check the male changing rooms and vice versa, but there will be occasions where our male cleaner is not on shift, so a female cleaner will cover for them. This does also happen the other way around from time to time.
They will announce themselves before entering or get another member of staff to enter ahead of them to make members aware.
If however this didn't happen or you are still unhappy about this matter please do speak with the General Manager in your club and they can explain the procedure further and reassure you.

Sauna’s good, but more weights needed
Sauna’s definitely a seller. But theres not enough weighted machines, and what’s there seems a little outdated. Free weight plates are also few and far between. More 0.5s, 1.25s, 2.5s and 5kgs are needed for more incremental growth, and colour coded Olympic weights would improve the experience

The sauna sold me on it
I really like that there's a sauna. It definitely encourages me to go to the gym more! And I'm glad that I don't have to book classes or sessions, and that there is bike storage in the building. My only complaint really is the same as a lot of peoples, a lot of things are often broken down, including equipment, lifts, toilets. The ladies toilets especially get in a right state.
It's a shame as it could be a very luxurious gym experience, the vibe is certainly there! Maybe it just has become so popular that maintenance can't keep up. It is a little disappointing though.

Great gym and classes
Good working equipment and i am particularly impressed with the yoga and pilates classes. Helpful staff. Great value for money as classes all included and also has a sauna.
I would have given 5 stars if the lift was working as its quite a trek to the top floor.

Really good gym with a great atmosphere! The staff are all lovely, especially the managers they go above and beyond! The gym is always spotless however, the current equipment is good to use but pretty dated, so it could do with new machines. Also, the lift is out of use, which is a bit inconvenient, but other than that, it's a perfect gym.

JD Gyms Cardiff offers a solid workout…
JD Gyms Cardiff offers a solid workout experience, thanks in large part to its friendly and supportive staff. They are always on hand to assist with any questions and create a welcoming atmosphere for both newcomers and regulars.
While the gym has a good range of equipment, it does feel a bit outdated and could benefit from some refreshing updates. Additionally, the lack of a working lift can be inconvenient, especially for those with mobility issues.
Overall, JD Gyms Cardiff has potential, and with some improvements, it could easily elevate the experience for all.

Tom, the manager, and Rares, my personal trainer, make this gym truly outstanding. Tom’s leadership and customer service are exceptional—he’s welcoming, attentive, and goes above and beyond to make everyone feel valued.
As for Rares, he’s hands down the best trainer I’ve ever had. His dedication to his clients is unmatched; he’s caring yet motivating, always pushing me to reach new heights. I’ve worked with several trainers before, but none compare to Rares. This team truly sets the bar high!
