The weights are always all over the gym, there isn’t enough of the equipment people use the most and the smells from the drains is often noticeable

Couldn't get on any machine kids…
Couldn't get on any machine kids messing about on mobiles rather than training. And that was 7pm also no benches for bench press been moved. No bars for cables also not very good at all

Could easily be better
I like the ease of parking as it’s free & there’s plenty of it. Never have to wait to use cardio equipment. Having moved from another local gym I find a lot of the weights equipment has various adjustable sections & as I’m only 5ft 2” I am spending a lot of time adjusting equipment before I can use it. I’ve noticed quite a few of the cardio machines look to have splats on them which I’m guessing is either sweat or drinks? Not the best & there’s no cleaning equipment/stations! My previous gym had spray & tissue so you could wipe/clean down equipment after use. I’ve only seen a cleaner twice at this gym & I’ve been going 3 times a week on different days & at different times. I find the general look of the gym very dark & the black paint adds to that. The air conditioning does not seem to be adequate for such a large gym & unless you are directly under it you’d not know it was working. Haven’t really seen any staff around the gym area to ask about getting a programme set up or for help with any equipment. I believe they hang out in a room near the entrance/exit?. As I got my first month for £10 I’ve just accepted the few niggles I’ve got but once I’m paying the full amount I will be making sure a member of staff knows.

Wasnt happy with how my first time in…
Wasnt happy with how my first time in the gym! Having never been to a gym i found it so un nerving. There were no staff on the floor to assist me nor did anyone show me around. I will not be going again!

The punch bags there is a guy that goes on them and moans when he is punching the bag like a professional boxer at 50 60 thinks he's in the rocky film lol he disturbs others but apart from that it's good

Great gym
Great gym, plenty of equipment to go on. I love the functional area and that it has lots of hip thrust options available like the booty builder and the hip thrust frame with the bar. It was very clean and tidy.

Best gym in castleford
Excellent gym great atmosphere being here 1 year staff so helpful. Amazing place to train alot of equipment to help with everything you need. Would highly recommend to anybody wanting to get into shape or just have a good time .

Don't join, if you want to lift weights!
I've always had a great experience with JD gyms in the past, however, recently joined Castleford gym a week ago and already looking for another gym.
Too much cardio, too few weights stations, too crowded and tried at different times during the day!
Avoid.
