Signed up to Glasgow South last week and have tried to get in the gym twice and cannot. Member of staff said that new sign ups haven't been able to access the gym for the last 2 months because of a 'glitch' and said "Hopefully it gets fixed soon". They proceeded to let me in and when I tried to leave at about 10pm there were no staff members present to let me out so I was stuck in the gym. There were about 4 other people also 'stuck' inside. I ended up having to just slip out behind someone else leaving who's QR code did work. Absolutely ridiculous, I emailed support and they said they reset it for me but still not working. Can shove their membership, won't be going back.
Also, I tried to press the emergency help button at the exit and it rang for ages with no answer, tried to call the security number they have on the wall and no answer. god help anyone who actually needs help in an emergency.
the QR code for going in and out it’s not working at all. please fix it

The app is not working and it’s being very stressful kept waiting to get in or go out daily
Apart from that, it’s a lovely gym with everything we need to work out!

The facilities available are good and plentiful, the gym feels relatively clean and well kept.
Some of the machines and weights are damaged or broken meaning can’t have as safe a workout session as I’d like. The changing room doesn’t have enough space to change to fit the footfall through the door.

Gym has plenty of equipment with the exception of punch bags. Theres only one at my gym at crown Street. Also there is no cleaning stations to clean machines after use.

This is a review of JD Gym Glasgow South. No showers after 12 midnight (so how is it a full 24hr gym). Weights machines loose and damaged. Some with handwritten weight measurements. No anti-bacterial spray and tissue roll for wiping down machines after usage. Some staff are friendly and helpful others are not. Some different machines from other gyms. Car park is good. Showers when available are good. Changing room is ok. I will be leaving after 1 month trial period. Simple and easy fix to get this gym to a good standard.

Not worth the price point. Joined it for the sauna but it’s not the best. Showers smelled and the toilets were a state most of the time - the taps didn’t work for the first month I was there.
The cherry on top was trying to cancel. They intentionally took over 2 weeks to get back to me and as a result, I was charged another payment.

Gym is not up-to-date showers are out of order and sauna too

honestly, just joined AGAIN to give it another go. The showers AND sauna are out AGAIN for 2 weeks. Leg extension has been out of order for too long. going back to my old gym. Staff are nice enough but whoever is running it needs proper training on how to run a gym

In recent months the weight training area has become far too busy later in the day and theres a noticeable lack of respect for equipment and basic gym etiquette during these times. Weights not being put back, hogging machines, general hygiene has declined (especially in the men’s changing room/toilet), and groups working out together taking up space and blocking access to equipment. More signage enforcing proper gym etiquette would help, but more importantly, staff should be proactive in enforcing these standards. These are not issues I should have to bring to staff myself during a session - they should be proactively monitored and addressed as part of good gym management, not only dealt with when a member complains in person.

My 1st time ever to join a gym. The Zumba classes here are legit- high energy, great instructor, and I actually look forward to going.

Everything is good and nice only thing which I would appreciate is that when the sauna opens at 6am it stinks so mxuh even though no one is their I would appreciate it and you added some type of air freshener or some automatic one which could lower the smell otherwise gym is perfect and go their again

This gym is terribly laid out there is no open spaces for free weight work, the barbell area is tiny and has mainly heavy weights without consideration for anyone lifting lighter weights. No one ever puts weights away and leaves barbells fully stacked. The whole gym is really dirty. I have used other jd gyms which are so much better than this.

I’ve been a member of JD gyms for less than a week. I immediately noticed a better mindset in myself than what I had in my last gym (The Gym Group). More variety and quantity of workout equipment, included access to a sauna, ample space in both the gym and the changing rooms and JD also have specific cubicles for cold showers. Personal preference: the darker atmosphere and LED lighting, I felt other gym companies had decor that was either too bright or used distracting colours. Best gym I’ve been a member of.
