I had problems with my qr code entry and had to ask gym staff to let me in. The Gym staff weren't aware of the Gymtrackr app which allows users to track their workouts and save the results from the True machines onto Strava, which is an invaluable peice of information worth sharing with all gym members. I approched a staff member about this and got strange looks!! The changing rooms need biggar benches as people need this when changing. I was also annoyed that there was no toilet roll on quite a few occasions since joining the gym. Apart from this, I like the layout of the gym and like the machines and sauna and the gym atmosphere.

No wipe-down facilities, and people sit in the sauna fully clothed - absolutely bonkers! - and the staff could not care less. Get what you pay for, eh?

BAD first impression!
Ive only just joined, Ive been in maybe 3 times.
- The SMELL in the gents changing rooms was unbearable, I joined with plans to use the Sauna, with that smell I can't bring myself to go anywhere near it.
- The dumbbells section is an absolute STATE, it's not tidied or organised in any fashion, no clear marks of where weights should go, and staff obviously make no effort to tidy it.
- The gym does not seem clean at all, I keep seeing dust and fluff in corners, and around machines.
- Only one of the stair master machines works, the second has no out of order sign on on, do staff even know its not functioning?
- Staff do not come across as approachable, or the small number of staff I have actually seen.
- All the cable machines I have used, or any machine with selectable weights, are missing almost all their stickers, so maths and guesswork are required to track workout weights.
- No cleaning stations, wipes, or anything in the gym.
On a positive note, plenty parking, and a good selection of equipment albeit does not feel very well maintained.

JD in South Glasgow, the customer service is rubbish. I was in like a few minutes ago and I have tried to scan my code and the QR code was not working so I pressed the green button to buzz for assistance and then there was this lady she just came outside straight away and tell me “Ican’t let you in I can’t help you if you need anything you need to call from nine 9 am to 4 “and I was like did you even listen to me or ask me how you can help me? she was like just look at me like she was a little bit racist. why she wouldn’t help me she could just ask me How can I help you or whatever but she didn't .She just went straight away and says like I can’t let you in .I have pay a member ship to be ignored and humiliated by jd or what? I tried to email them more than 10 times, but there was no response and I don't have access to the gym .

The gym is huge - really well equipped I’ve only been going for about a week but the quality of the kit is good and looks clean. Lots of parking too. The entry is via a QR code. The only issue is if you forget your phone you can’t get in perhaps a hybrid PIN code or QR code system might be a better idea plus not everyone owns a smart phone. I know I’m being picky but otherwise the gym is good and convenient.

Pins missing from the machines rendering them unusable, handles for machines that can be changed also missing making it hard to do an exercise correctly/impossible to do and free weights not put back correctly so very difficult to find a pair of the same weights.

Great gym but no paper towels to wipe down the equipment!! Absolutely disgusting in this day and age (even before COVID who wants to sit on a sticky bench after someone's used it drenched in sweat 😅🤢). A quick fix for the management surely - would have been 5* otherwise!

Could you provide some wipes? There is nothing to clean the machines after use and it is not enjoyable to train in each others heavy sweat .....
It is also a busy gym, having machines working would be a + ...
But that, it is a nice gym

My first experience of the JD Gym wasn't great. The first 5 machines did not work - 3 bikes and 2 cross trainers. I have been back a few more times and the same machines still don't work plus even more now! They turn on however there is no resistance when you turn it up.
I have been to 1 class so far. It started 15 minutes late because there was no one to unlock the door. The class was really good when it started though.
Overall my first impressions are bad of JD Gyms. I don't know if I was continue my membership after this month.

I joined JD only to use the sauna as I already have another gym membership.
I have been a member for over a month now and haven’t used the sauna due to the HORRENDOUS SMELL in the male changing rooms has put me off.
I do use the gym though which I like.

Very modern and clean, very limited space for the amount of members.
Not enough machines.
Changing rooms are very small.
I like the ability to use the sauna.
