Brilliant gym
Brilliant gym! I recently started here and it’s brilliant so far. Only reason I give it 4 stars is because when I go at 12am my partner always finds urine on the toilets or on the cubicle floor. Overall will be keeping my membership here ❤️

No longer a good gym
I’ve been coming to this gym for over 5 years since before it became JD and was exercise4less. Since JD has taken over it’s just gone down hill, they’re a terrible company only bothered about getting as much money as they can from their customers. The price has just increased more and more yet half the equipment is always loose and dropping to bits, you don’t get any sort of benefits like a free day pass every month for a friend like most other gyms, they even tried to charge me £10 for my friend to come and try the gym out even though I’ve been a member since before it opened. No loyalties, will be cancelling my membership.

Didn't appreciate the lack of induction / zero human contact. There are also way too many people even at later hours... And you cannot book classes, so with this number of people attending, seems like it's a lottery. Not great...

Hi there Matteo. Thanks for taking the time to leave this review. We’re afraid it's true, our gyms are very popular and can become busy especially at peak times and as you mention into the night it can remain relatively busy, especially where we have a higher student population.
To make the most of the space where possible, though, we are always looking to expand and improve our facilities to improve the member experience.
Even though inductions are not compulsory we absolutely do offer them though, so If you would like an induction, please get in touch with your gym directly and a member of the team can help arrange this for you. You can email the manager on leedskirkstallroad@jdgyms.co.uk or speak to a member of staff next time you are in.
In terms of a class booking system, we like to keep life nice and easy so all the hard work can be done in the class itself! All we ask is that you arrive 5-10 minutes early prior to the class starting so there is time to set up and the instructor to prepare for your workout. Having a first come, first serve system saves the instructor time on sorting through registers/cancellations/over bookings and more time on giving you a great workout!

Good gym but some improvements can be made.
Been at this gym a couple weeks now. Honestly ain’t a bad gym just not ran very well. Members are friendly and so are staff but the upkeep in the gym is not the best compared to other gyms I have been to. A lot of machines are missing blots securing seats or chest supports, weights are scattered about everywhere and the dumbbells are so misplaced I spend more time finding them then I do actually working out. Not due to staff mainly members respect for the gym but staff should be enforcing the rules to make the gym a better place for everybody.

its good but woman’s section is not good
it’s a good gym but as a woman i feel like there should be more equipment in the woman’s section and a little bigger! i was so shocked at how small it is! i thought my old gym had a small woman’s section but this one was much smaller and hardly any equipment! no cable machine or stair master!!!

Top gym and great staff...
Joining was a dream the member of staff at Leeds Kirsktall (I forget his name!) but who helped me join with my staff discount on Saturday morning was exceptional, sorted me out immediately showed me round made me feel welcome, 10/10 from him.
Also the gym is big, good equipment and well looked after. Coming from a Pure Gym where members and PTs leave weights out and act like they own the place it's been a real levelling up.
Since joining the app QR code hasn't worked once which is annoying and gives me a little anxiety that if I arrive and there's no staff I won't be able to access the gyms I need to. No staff faults, just the app

First time at this gym. Easy to sign up. Staff really helpful and manager assisted with staff membership. Lots of equipment and staff on hand to advise if needed.

The gym centre need cleaning showers…
The gym centre need cleaning showers are not clean and inside the gym equipment needs cleaning too ..there are no tissue or pepper to clean them when start use them all member are used it Nedd some spray and antibacterial...etc

Toilet cleanliness
I would say 9/10 times when I use the gym toilet facilities, the seats are covered in urine along with the floor surrounding them. They either need to find the members who find it so hard to control their own flow of urine or make sure it’s cleaned often enough that this isn’t the case.

Disappointing
The gym is too crowded and I believe that it does not have the capacity to welcome so many people at the same time. On the other hand, compared to the past, I find the gym extremely dirty, especially the bathroom.
I would have loved if using a towel was obligatory and if it was not as cold as it is. If I want to take a shower after my gym session, I will probably end up ill as the temperature in the changing room is not pleasant.
