The gym is open 24 hours , well staffed and always clean. Weights are reracked regularly by the employees. However, does get busy during peak periods.

This gym is the worst I’ve experienced. I tried to cancel within 3 days of join and you physically cannot cancel. They have a malicious retention process that forces you to keep paying unless you block payments with the bank. Avoid

Good gym with loads of kit and decent classes. Sometimes busy in the evenings but that’s expected. Staff are friendly and it feels safe even late at night. Would recommend!

The room is ridiculous hot. Like acc may as well be at the Sahara desert. Has a good range of equipment, but ridiculously hot.

No 35kg dumbells for about 3 months now. A basic set of dumbells that shouldn't take that long to replace 🤷♂️

Signed up for two people just for January as it’s £10 for the month whilst me and a friend were working that way, and have been charged £30 overall. Emailed, Messaged, called -to get this sorted. And have heard nothing back.

The gym has become extremely overcrowded making it almost impossible to access certain equipment at peak times. The number of people crammed into the gym also raises general health and safety concerns. Parking has become difficult during peak times. Additionally, there are young members vaping inside the gym which is difficult to control. There has been a noticeable decline in overall standards, while JD Gyms continues to promote for new additional members. It's a shame because the gym itself is very good

Went to boot camp taken by Ant Grace. All explained thoroughly and pushed all the way. Feel like you’ve had a good work out. 10 out of 10.

Newcastle under Lyme branch: I hear that Paul’s Saturday 8.30am class is to be no more. Considering how majority of us only attend for Paul’s classes and they’re easily the most popular classes at the gym. Money saving yet again. Zero concern for customers or their wellbeing.

Been a member for a while and almost at the point of cancelling. The atmosphere is terrible. The staff are invisible so not sure where the comments about friendly welcomes come from. They do nothing to stop people sitting on the machines
checking thier socials for 10 minutes
at a time. This is despite so many reviews making the same complaint.
There isn't enough equipment for the number of members (but I guess they only measure success in
membership sales). Even at night past 9PM you have to wait around. Don't believe the 4 and 5 star reviews this place is a commercial enterprise and they're just after your money.

The Newcastle branch is out of date, dirty and young ppl are just sitting around on the machines on there phones, seems like a dating place for young ppl, very disappointed tbf

Could I ask why Paul Shaw’s class on Saturday 24th August at 8.30 has been cancelled because it’s a bank holiday weekend?
I’m guessing that I’ll receive a reduction in membership fee as I’m still wishing to attend the class as are lots of other fellow class attendees.
I look forward to an urgent response.
Regards

Absolutely horrendous. Signed up to the Newcastle under Lyme gym and was unable to gain access to the gym for 3 days because of a known glitch in the system. Then why was I able to sign up ? Surely I should have been informed first. Staff would blank my calls and took me over 24 hrs to get them pick up the phone. Shocking.

Have been going here for years. For the last six months, the toilets have never appeared to be clean even though the sheet says they are being checked by staff regularly. There has been skidmarks which have been on the toilets for weeks. It’s very off putting but frustrating as it is such a brilliant gym in every other aspect and there have never been any issues other than this.

Re. JD Gym - Newcastle under Lyme!!
The management treat the freelance trainers who put on classes terribly….!
They show no respect to the fact that many people don’t always want to cavort around the gym doing exercises on machinery some people actually only want to do classes on the timetable…. that is what some members want and pay for too!
It’s been said that members who only do the exercise classes contribute to just 4% of the overall gyms income, the management are not particularly bothered about these people who just do exercise classes! Can I say how blinkered and narrow minded are you, it’s about choice, you will soon lose that 4% if you keep messing about with the classes and the freelancers…. there are plenty of gyms around!
Listen to people’s needs and wants and not what you think people need and want!
Show respect to the freelance trainers that come in when they can earn more elsewhere!
And while I’m complaining get some flipping cleaners in… it’s becoming disgusting especially in the main studio!
I am also sick of asking about the air conditioning, get the bleeding air conditioning on in the gym, it’s like a bleeding oven in there! Show some respect to your customers… you earn enough from us!
I have complained via email before direct to this branch but the management staff choose to ignore customers complaints, hence now the reason why I have put my complaints on trustpilot, I may actually get an acknowledgment or a response!
JD senior management team, wake up and look at this branch because it’s the management at this branch who are treating your customers with no respect and it’s becoming a bit of a joke! Sort it out!

I enjoy it but they never play music it's a gym not a morgue.....W eird enough on easter morning they play decent volume music when virtually nobody is at 5am in the morning. Yet 9/10 most early mornings a 5am they play no music at all, what's that about??? The staff got a hang over or something?

Great Personal Trainers, I had a 1-2-1 boxing sessions with Michael and he showed me techniques and made it really enjoyable. Chrissie one of the managers is a fantastic coach and always makes me feel welcome and goes above and beyond every day. Nothing is to much hard work.
