The gym is open 24 hours , well staffed and always clean. Weights are reracked regularly by the employees. However, does get busy during peak periods.

The gym is always very welcoming. Some big egos but they generally keep themselves to themselves.
I do not feel uncomfortable when training here and I feel comfortable doing my thing.
The personal trainers are very helpful particularly Emilia. She helps me to find the machines to use for what I want to achieve. She pushes me to perform but not so much that I get fed up. I have noticed a difference in my health since starting at the gym. Thank you Em! 5 stars.

Great first experience entering the gym with my Son, I was greeted by Chrissie one of the managers and she most definitely knows her stuff. I felt welcome instantly, she showed me around the gym and to the things which I really wanted to use. The gym is much bigger on the inside than it appears so I initially felt a little intimidated but Chrissie put me at ease. The gym looked clean and tidy

Great gym with plenty of equipment and facilities to use. Members need to be accountable as well when providing poor reviews about kit or lack of facilities. The gym environment is an investment in ourselves and if you want to improve you have to speak to the trainers and educated yourself on what the best exercises are to fulfil are goals.
On my visit I spoke with Chrissie the assistant manager. She was full of energy and enthusiasm towards making the gym a positive experience for everyone. She was engaging with members when dealing with myself and generally a pleasure to be around.
I often train here and I have seen Chrissie training herself in the gym and teaching classes. I feel that this is a great approach to life in the gym environment. Chrissie is clearly passionate about her job and about improving herself and her own goals which then sets a great standard to other staff members and members on their own fitness journey.
Chrissie has always been approachable and seemed busy with job related tasks, trying to make the gym the best it can for members and potential new members wanting to join.

Good equipment..but o so cold especially in changing rooms.it was1degree during this cold spell.everyone complaining but it's falling on deaf ears.its so cold it's unhealthy
I’ve been using this gym since it’s opened. The classes change constantly, and the management cancels many popular courses. It’s a recurring trend, so it’s impossible to plan. Despite excellent trainers working there, there is an apparent lack of management, and it seems changes happen to favour some staff members with disregard for what members want. Also, the gym is too busy and understaffed, so using the equipment is the challenge during busy hours.
Great gym. Yes it gets ridiculously busy at times but if you are lucky enough not to be constrained to early evenings there are plenty of times when you can get through your session quickly. The sauna is a great feature but is often turned off, hence the missing star. Can be a bit annoying.
Gym too busy
Online staff dosent sort your account if anything is wrong

Its a very sad day for me but i feel compeled to write this. I love the manager in there.
I'm a 54 year old gentleman, and with the exception of the Pandemic. I've been training daily since 2011 at "Puregym" I suffer with Explosive Anger Disorder. ADHD, and PTSD. Training helps massively and I love the gym environment. It teally helps me when I help others. When the new JD gym opened in July 2022 I was excited and having outgrew Puregym I signed up along with a number of other Puregym Members. The first six months I was in heaven. New kit, happy people, and staff sharing loads of love for one another. Then after Christmas JD dropped the price for students and dropped the age limit to 16. JD doesn't care about senior members. Its just a bums on seats policy. This is okay but it needs to be managed. You get large groups of upto 6, sometimes more lads on a piece a kit. They just mess about and cause trouble. Let's be honest their only there for the girl's, which they make feel uncomfortable. I've seen countless mirrors smashed in the free weights area. Rubish everywhere in the cubicles, soap dispensers smashed off the wall on a semi regular basis, and today of days STEALING. I mean its never a good combination. Large groups of lads pumped up testosterone levels, full of dangerous pre workout, creatine, and energy drinks, add lots of young girls into that, and BOOM. The Perfect Storm. In the 11 year's at Puregym I've never used a locker, I've left my phone, equipment and headphones unattended many times. NEVER has anything ever been stolen, especially from my bag.
JD you may have 8000+ members in this new gym now, and you shan't miss my membership fee. But Trust me when I say. I aren't gonna be the only one leaving. A Number of us older guys all have a story to share about this awful environment.
It's the most toxic place I've been in since the Falklands Conflict.
"Don't make the mistake I did. Puregym is a far better, far safer, more secure environment.
JD Gym. Somone is gonna get hurt in there 100% ✌🏼
I'm out

From about 4.30 to 6.30pm it’s packed and hard to get on much of the equipment. What is becoming increasingly annoying is other members continually coming up and asking “how many sets have you got left” when they are really saying will you get off I want to get on. It’s more of a trait with the younger age group. I don’t do sets. I have a physically demanding job and I leave it to my body to tell me when to stop. They don’t seem to understand this so they hang around waiting which can be quite intimidating. The other increasing annoyance are members who ask if they can “jump in” rather than do something else until equipment becomes available. Recently a guy asked to do this and then completely changed all the settings and then spent minutes on his phone! I come to the gym to work out not engage in arguments.
There can often be large groups of lads (and girls) congregating around machines with nobody actually using the equipment. It’s starting to resemble a youth club at times.
There is very little published around the gym about gym etiquette and it’s something that’s becoming quite a problem.
It does say not to bring bags into the gym floor which is ignored and I’ve taken less stuff on holiday. I’m yet to see a staff member take anyone to task over it or about anyone dropping (or throwing) weights down. A 30kg dumbbell narrowly missed my foot only last week. Maybe we should be issued with protective footwear?
The last gripe was a PT obviously doing a lesson at peak time and had effectively blocked 2 machines off as they went from one and back to the other. I get they are trying to earn a living but it’s simply not practical when there isn’t enough equipment.

My favourite gym experience I’ve ever had in the UK, and I’ve even been a member of some of the most elite chains in London. HOWEVER. My 4 star is not 5 star, simply because of one very, very useful piece of equipment being missing, and that is a manual treadmill. I do circuit training and they are absolutely fantastic to do in between circuits to seriously up conditioning. For that reason, a manual treadmill would go really nicely near to the Eleiko racks/function training areas. Otherwise, everything else is perfect 👌🏼
