Myself and my daughter love Jenny’s Zumba and yoga classes. Jenny is so friendly and full of energy and she makes the classes so enjoyable. Looking forward to her Pilates classes too.

Facilities are fantastic
Facilities are fantastic, it's all clean no broken machines and great air con system. All the classes are really good, high intensity and provide a great workout. Very satisfied

Upon attending the Newport gym for the…
Upon attending the Newport gym for the first time I had issues scanning my qr code to get into the gym! Being that it was 11pm ish there was no staff there for assistance and the security number I couldn’t get through to. After a lot of attempts I finally got in but other than that it was a great experience as a first time gym goer. Everyone attending was friendly and outgoing and there was a lot there to do with plenty of plates and free weights available!

Had my first visit today
Had my first visit today. Joined to get fitter and lose some weight. Was a great experience the gym has multiple apparatus for differing types of fitness required. Used treadmill and bike but did not go mad for first time. Natalie was very helpful when I needed advice many thanks to her. Shall be visiting on a regular basis. Showers available and lockers to. Felt comfortable in new surroundings.

Overcrowded, overcharged
Very busy gym and quickly realised wouldn't work. When we tried to cancel they charged us for an extra month.

Good quality gym equipment and lots of it
I was previously a member of the Everlast gym in Cardiff. The Newport gym has lots more, good quality equipment and punch bags, which is a must for me. Great that it’s open 24/7 now.
Only downside is say is that the staff are a bit stand offish compared to the staff at the Everlast gym.

Few days into new membership
Few days into new membership. More plate loaded machines definitely needed. Would be more beneficial than the amount of bar benches currently in gym. Gym is very busy, luckily I can avoid peak times. Dumbbells are never put back in correct place. But that just reflects the clientele using the facilities. Lastly the wifi is really bad. Cannot use due to extremely low speed. Will review again at end of the month

equipment easy to use. alot of space and it being 24 is great as I don't have to use it while busy.

dissatisfaction
My experience has not been very pleasant, every day when entering and leaving the gym, an employee has to open the door for me because my QR code does not validate. and they also don't know the problem that is happening.

Not enough equipment always a wait to…
Not enough equipment always a wait to get on stuff and waiting for handles or bars as they only have 2 sets of each when you go on the cable driven machines. Can’t believe they only have 2 toilets 🚽 in the men’s toilets what’s that about. Car park always full too.

They do not let you cancel! Avoid!!
You do not choose when you want to cancel your membership, you have to send them a form which they state is 'not proof of cancellation ' but they will get back to you between '21' days. I have been waiting several days already AND THEN once they cancel the membership you're changed for 30 days... Over two months charge.

CANCELLING MEMBERSHIP
Ok, a bit of context to my experience of cancelling my Gym membership. As I'm leaving the area I need to cancel my membership. Gym wise (Newport) I really enjoyed the Gym and can't fault the experience there. However, when it comes to cancelling the membership I feel I have been given the runaround. I cancelled on 20 Mar, JD gyms sent me an email saying they would process and cancel within 3 weeks. Payment then end March, fair enough. End of April no comms from JD. They then took payment at end of April. I therefore cancelled my DD and asked for a refund from JD. No answer from JD on the ticket I raised. A couple of days after cancelling my DD I got an email from JD saying they've noticed I've cancelled my DD and will take that as I no longer wish to continue my membership!! Good Gym/facilities but please sort out what should be an easy cancelling process. Still waiting for my extra months membership fee which JD took.......

Hello!
Thanks for leaving us some feedback, we appreciate it.
We are a 24-hour gym in Newport, but due to there being less staff on duty throughout the night, areas which are not covered by CCTV are closed t for the safety of our members (i.e. the main changing rooms and saunas).
We do however leave the accessible changing room open at all times, as well as there being lockers for you to use. If you need to get changed or grab a shower during the night, that option is there for you and you'll have complete privacy in there.

Staff are great and friendly
Staff are great and friendly. The gym is very busy though and while it is fairley well equipped it can be difficult to use the equipment you want at peak times. There is also a severe lack of cleaning equipment around the gym to clean the machines after use, there used to be a single roll of blue paper and one spray clean but they have now disappeared.
