JD gym review.
Joining online was fairly straightforward. Re-joined after a year living away, nothing much has changed. The gym provides a good range of equipment and classes - although I do not attend any of the classes. The price is comparable with other gyms of the same type. Downsides are the invisibility of the staff (does anyone work there?), the usual problems of people not putting weights away, unloading bars etc. which could be alleviated by staff presence and the lack of any atmosphere - it is a pretty cheerless place, which is fine if like me, you just want to come in and do your workout and know what you are doing.

Although it is good to hear how easy the re-joining process was for you, we are still disappointed with the 3* rating and can only apologise that you didn't feel as though our staff presence was enough to police the returning of equipment by some of our Rotherham members.
We always aim to have members of our team available throughout the day and more so during peak times to maintain our gym floor, changing room and studio standards.

You pay all that money to only be allowed to enter the gym ONCE a day. Ridiculous! They need to change this, especially as we are now in 2024!

If you come back a second time in the same day, please press the green buzzer button near the gates and someone will let you in. The app does only grant entry once per day, but you're welcome to come back as many times as you like, we'll just need to let you in. 👍

It’s a good gym but…
It’s a good gym, quite big, has a small women’s only section which is good. But some of the equipment is out dated, ripped, tired looking and some machines have been broken for a while and un useable. Needs a good re vamp.

Staff do undertake regular maintenance checks and work hard with our equipment providers to ensure that our equipment is fixed as soon as possible, if any should be broken. We are equally as disappointed when this happens and sometimes need to wait on engineers but will have all equipment in full working order as soon as is safely possible.
Alternatively please do not hesitate in picking the brains of our Personal Trainers in Rotherham as they will no doubt have a weird/wonderful alternative for you if a piece of equipment is out of action Keeping you on track to smash your goals💪

Not only was it easy to sign up for the gym the experience I had at the gym was better than I expected as well, the staff are friendly and the place is welcoming. The facilities in the gym are well stocked and I wasn't waiting to use a piece of equipment like I was expecting to. Fully recommend this gym to anyone.

Jd gyms could improve there service that they give to members by keeping the machines repaired when they breakdown cos I've know some breakdowns take long time for repair service to keep them up and running

Our gyms have barriers at the entrance which you can open using our contactless entry app. If you are unable to gain entry for whatever reason, there is a green button near the gates. Press that and it alerts a member of staff to your presence. Someone will come over to help.

The jd gym i recently started at is spot on for the money ,the equipment is top standard, theres lots of it, and the 24 hour helps massivley.
The only thing id moan about is the showers not been open 24 hour as it would make life so much easier as i go at 4am before work but have to come home again before work.

We are a 24-hour gym in Rotherham, but due to there being less staff on duty throughout the night, areas which are not covered by CCTV are closed t for the safety of our members (i.e. the main changing rooms and saunas).
We do however leave the accessible changing room open at all times, as well as there being lockers for you to use. If you need to get changed or grab a shower during the night, that option is there for you and you'll have complete privacy in there.

I do alot of mat work in burn section…
I do alot of mat work in burn section but the small mats are very slippery and that large mats look dated and worn off but only a few are allocated but trying to exercise on bare floor leaves carpet like burns to elbows needs more non slip large floor mats...

Very spacious
