I have been away from jd for almost 9 months, and was disappointed to see that there is still NO new equipment in the studio. This was promised when I completed a review 12 months ago! Half the weight plates are broken and there us not enough quantity for everyone who wishes to attend pump classes!! Get this sorted please!!! We keep being told 'they are on order ' we'll they've 'been on order' for about 18 months!!!!

Really nice gym, great vibe and style. Particularly like the grass zone (don't know the technical term 😁)
Womens only area could be bigger
I recently joined this gym and my initial impressions were favourable - clean, spacious with friendly staff. While these still remain positive points about the gym, I have some negative experiences to share after getting to know the gym better
1.-There is no booking system for classes and this has created animosity between members competing for equipment.
2 - the spin bikes are outdated and frequently in need of repair. The air con in the spin studio is non existent
3 - the studio floor is a concrete floor and not suitable for high impact classes.
4 - many of the weight machines are old and worn with holes and cracks in the seats and, in some cases held together with gaffer tape.
5 - in the recent cold snap it was extremely cold in the gym with no heating. It felt like working out in the Arctic.
6 - the changing rooms are very small and cold. I don’t think I have had a hot shower in the 4 months since becoming a member. They have been Luke warm at best.
There has been a huge influx of new members and therefore a sizeable increase in monthly profits. It would be nice to see some of this money reinvested to address some of these issues

This gym is very spacious and staff working there are kind and helpful. I love all the classes, but there could be more weights for body pump and bikes for spin, as both classes are very popular.
The down side of this gym is temperature control (or lack of it). During colder days it was way too cold inside to workout efficiently. I've heard from other members that the gym is way too hot during sumer.
I hope that will get sorted soon, otherwise I'll have to look for another gym

There’s always people around to help you with the equipment if it’s needed & show you how to use the equipment correctly & safely, also on hand to offer advice when needed, it’s such a welcoming place to go to keep active & get fit

Staff is very much helpful and the equipment is easily accessible the place is neat and tidy
Gym members are welcoming
Baffles me how people can give this gym positive reviews. Always packed, you can never get on any equipment. People always disturb your workout asking how many sets you have left causing you to rush you workout. People say go before 3pm, but people work throughout the day for a living and most people who don’t work 9-5 decide to go in the evening times anyway which is unfair
Easy to join up
Easy to book classes
Enough equipment so your not waiting

Personal trainers seem to be under the impression that they have priority over equipment use .

The equipment and area is lovely and clean. Plenty of everything so no need to wait for a turn.

Great gym and instructors however there aren’t enough body conditioning/hiit workout classes on the timetable mid morning or at night ,there’s too many spin classes.
Went here back when it was exercise 4 less but back when it went to jd they doubled the price and the only incentive seemed to be the hair dryers were now free, being a bald, middle aged (but not old enough to be the old man who casually uses it to dry his nadgers whilst stood on a bench holding a conversation all gyms seem to have) man it wasn't much use so went to I motion.
When I motion sent out an email to say they were shut I panicked about losing da gainz and signed up with the first month being a tenner, I motion implied they would be open again shortly so thought I could just cancel and go back, they didn't re open so I've stopped here.
Good parts:
Plenty of Bars, weights, Benches and racks although you do sometimes have to play hide and seek for collars.
Some functional kit medicine balls/slam balls/climbing rope etc.
Old imotion manager managing it.
Equipments put away.
No young Rotherham united players who don't want to be there and whos training program seemed to consist of getting all the equipment out then walking away.
Not so good bits:
Other members aren't very spacially aware they will come for plates/collars mid set through the bars trajectory path.
Some days it feels like what a night out in Wickersley would be if it was a gym with people who just seem there to pose.
Changing rooms have a sign about taking selfie in the mirrors and changing room mirrors are quite often surrounded by young lads thinking they are arnold and Franco in pumping iron going through their compulsory poses.
The rubber at the side of the lifting platforms are a bit tired so you have to chase the bar around after every rep as it rolls deadlifting (although it's only really noticeable over 200kg).
Could do with heavier sandbags (50kg +) and a rope for arm over arm pulling of the prowler.
It does what it says on tin, it's convenient for my way home from work and I'll probably stop for a few years.
I recently joined JD after I-Motion closed. I’m really enjoying the gym and Matt has been able to add lots of new classes to keep us motivated. It’s got a great atmosphere.
Joined JD Rotherham due to IMotion closing … I was bit apprehensive however it was a good decision… JD Rotherham is well equipped spotlessly clean … Friendly staff good instructors including some employed from IMotion so it a Win Win I am pleased to say … Thank You …

The studio is massive so lots of room to spread out and do your class comfortably. Friendly helpful staff. Had a great class this morning.
I have only recently joined, but look forward to trying other classes on offer.
