I’ve bought and paid for a membership less than a week ago at JD gym but it doesn’t work apparently there’s a problem with my debit card but they’ve taken money out of my account so I don’t see how there can be a problem there solution was I have to knock on the door everytime I enter the gym since my account doesn’t work even though I have paid
Staff were helpful, and knowledgeable. However, with nothing to wipe down equipment or any hand sanitizer (unless I missed it, but I did three laps around the gym and couldn’t find any) I found it a very dirty place to train.
I also found some of the clientele challenging to be around. I am interested in general fitness, not just weight lifting, and it seemed to me that most members were there specifically to weight train. I understand this is a hard thing to manage from a company point of view, as you had plenty of CV equipment, but it is one of the main reasons I felt uncomfortable in the gym.
A more “inclusive” environment could be cultivated.
Great gym, nice environment, new equipment, fair pricing, friendly staff. I highly recommend it :)

I would recommend you don't go here and seek a different gym, the cancellation process is deliberately complicated and they waited weeks after i filled out their cancellation form to inform me i hadn't filled in my address and birthdate and therefore couldn't cancel even with the other information i provided, i still had to pay even though i haven't been back all because of their silly 14 day cancelation window.

Can't fault it really.
I went to look around the Rugby gym a few years back and didnt get a great vibe (excessively loud music and lots of 'roid heads').
I signed up a few weeks and it has been great. Music is at a reasonable level (albeit usually god awful drill music), staff are helpful, and gym-goers are all pretty friendly.
I've yet to find a machine out of action, there is a huge selection of free weights and cardo machines, and the variance of machines is superb. Everything is clean and well maintained, and locker rooms are a good size.
Cons:
- Can get quite busy (even at 6am), although usually doesn't cause an issue given the large range of equipment.
- Parking is a free for all, with the entrance often narrowed by lazy parkers.
- Small niggle, but the showers staying on for more than 15 seconds at a time would be good. Makes showering a right faff.
Monthly rolling contract is a game changer too. I genuinely believe they get loads more sign ups by doing this, as people are more willing to give it a try.

Great gym , wide range of machines to use and nice layout of the gym , different areas for different machines ect. Always well ventilated and music at a good level. However , there are no disinfectant spray bottles or paper towels anywhere to spray down equipment after use and there aren’t many staff about

Lots of gym equipment but only having 2 assessable toilets/showers after 10 is a bit rubbish, literally cant shower, i have a 20 mile drive home so would be nice to have a shower after a work out especially with more an more people coming later on at night

Jd gyms rugby is very good because they have up to date equipment with an amazing range of equipment with a wide range of dumbbells for you to choose from depending on your strength

I tried to cancel my membership due to relocation and no longer being able to access the gym as it is more than 3 hours away from where I live. I was asked to send multiple cancellation emails and tickets, just to never get an answer back more than 3 weeks later and I have been charged for a month which I cannot even exercise. This is a joke and should not be possible.

I have been a member since x4L, since it becoming a JD Gym the staff are really helpful and friendly go above and beyond. Rochelle has worked very hard and the staff making it a great atmosphere and a place to come and train. Great classes Spin and Monday night with Callum always come out feeling like a good workout had been had, and they make it fun for all levels of people's fitness.
A couple of things that JD higher management need to consider.. spin bikes due to class usage they do have wear and tear and can up to have 5 plus bikes out. This then means members have to wait for these to be repaired which can take weeks.
Studio downstairs is a hazard on the floor once it gets warm and yes the Aircon is on, it is the type of flooring that has been laid. Accident waiting to happen.
One thing is could you think about getting a privacy screen, last year there was a incident in the spin room to which they passed away. Myself and other gym staff had to make shift with Matt's a privacy screen while members where being evacuated. I found it very undignified while the ambulance staff had to do CPR out in the gym as no room in the spin area. Also if anyone else has a accident or issues privacy is the best thing, As we all know phones and social media are a big thing.
But all in all love the place and Staff well done Rugby Team. 👏
Everything is good only outside scanner would.not read my qr when trying to access after 10pm. Had to turn away as I wouldn't getting in and never been shared any pin code to enter.

The gym itself looks pretty nice with a decent variety of equipment and stations. The gym floor was quite well kept when I went. It also suits me being open 24 hours. There is no sauna, however.
What mainly lets it down is that the shower facilities for unstaffed hours have not been thought through properly as they only open the two accessible shower rooms which do not have any dry area or bench where you can put your belongings such as bags, clothes, shoes, towel. The shower part is also slightly raised to be the highest point in the room which I find an odd design as it means that any surplus water flows down to where your belongings might be or even seep out into the gym. The moisture present also quickly mixes with any sediment present from shoes walking on the vinyl floor to just use the toilet, which makes having to step on it barefoot unpleasant. The quickest, easiest and best remedy would be to keep open the main changing rooms during unstaffed hours like Simply Gym Coventry do which I much prefer. Another solution would be to add a bench with a shoe rack underneath (so shoes don't get wet) to each shower room where you sit and can place your belongings on. This showering experience was the most unpleasant part of the gym.
Also it would be great if there was a supply of antibacterial cleaning supplies made available for during unstaffed hours. There was a hand sanitiser present which was good but it nearly needs replenishing.
But otherwise looks a pretty decent gym, in my opinion. They just need to rethink the unstaffed hours shower facilities.

Nice gym plenty of choice, only downside so far is lack of attachments for cables and could do with some old on the cable pulleys! Gets busy but with plenty of choice you can get a good workout

Would really like to see a whipe down area as not everyone takes a towel to clean up after themselves, and would really like the changing rooms to stay open 24/7 same as the gym, other than that brilliant gym with loads of equipment 👍

Plenty of equipment to use helpful staff if in need of advice or help the only issue I’ve had so far was on Sunday night where majority of stair master and treadmills were off due to powernap signs on them but apart from that my experience so far has been amazing I’m living being back in the gym can’t wait to start some classes to broaden my experience
