I don’t usually come in the evening as it’s always too busy and I can never get on any machines but I came this evening. I was walking around for ages looking for a member of staff, I don’t really see many staff on the gym floor, I needed some assistance on how to use some of the machines but I would like to say a massive thank you to the young boy with tattoos down his arm (ginger) as he seemed like he was busy but he made time to show and explain to me how some of the machines worked. He’s always smiling and seems happy to help. And the changing rooms looked spotless. Thank you again! Could do with the changing rooms opening later though.

Saunas and better equipment are needed ASAP after finding out other JD gyms have better equipment and saunas. It’s not the staffs fault but the company ITSELF.
Staff are extremely friendly and helpful with any questions you may have. Great atmosphere

My very first time at this gym was last weekend, a couple of days after I signed up online. I must be spoilt as I was hoping someone could show me around and explain where's what. That clearly wasn't possible as there was only one member of staff at the gym at that very moment and she was busy doing something else at the gym entrance.
My second time was yesterday when I finally got to bring myself to the gym after a long day at work hoping to have a spin class at 19.00hrs. I got there around 18.45hrs and I entered the spin studio while the group that had the class at 18.00 were leaving. Among them, there was also the spin instructor who was supposed to hold the 19.00hrs class as well.
In the meantime, other 4 girls joined me at the spin studio and only around 19.10 we came to realise that there wouldn't be any spin class.
The instructor that held the previous one simply didn't turn up, no one felt the need to come to the spin studio and inform us about it and perhaps explain what the situation is.
I went and spoke the the manager (?) of the gym who had no valid reason/alternative for this. Also, he had no valid explanation why this class was on the gym's online timetable when they knew from the very start that it wouldn't be held.
I've been going spinning for the past ten years and at the different gyms/in different countries.
Something like this has NEVER happend to me.
In one of my previous gyms in Sheffield, it happened that I was the only person who showed up at the spin class: as an alternative to having a spin class, I got offered a personal training session FOC.
Extremely poor customer service, no care whatsoever about the customer experience/satisfaction
Please avoid if you can and give your money to someone who actually cares

The gym is spacious and great as there is always a machine ready to use, even if your specific one is taken, you can always find one that’s free that will work the same muscle group. I would say that, gym etiquette here is terrible. Unlike pure gym, people here leave weights scattered on the floor and don’t return them where they found them. Other than that I am able to zone in and enjoy my session there.

Would've been good to have an introductory show around by a member of staff on 1st visit (could've been arranged by appointment)
Any chance of some large digital clocks? I appreciate we have smartphones but it would be more useful to not only plan the workout but also for timing rest periods between sets/exercises?
Nice big layout, although very random.
Maybe colour coordinate the machines so you know which machines you should target depending on what muscle group you want to exercise. So a more visible colour key or small sign indicating what muscle a machine is focusing on?
Is there only 1 water station?
What happens if this breaks?
In summer this is going to be critical.
Plenty of parking spaces, good amount of equipment, 24/7 opening is great.
There is a free-weight/machine zone which is always in the semi-dark which I'm used to now, although it's hard to see what weight the plates are when you're loading up a piece of equipment.
Showers are OK even if they're not adjustable.
Finding a safe working locker is a bit of a challenge, so you have to find the ones you trust not to jam and not be broken into.
Overall I like this gym, and the big space is great.

Really enjoyed going to this gym, love how they have ladies gym but I think they should add the hyperextension machine to it.

Hardly any plates and all scattered all over the place
Dumbbells all over the place with some missing
It was dirty

The first day me and my daughter went to jd gym at lowfield sheffield to see if we would like it there. The manager came to us and showed us every part of the gym and explained everything.
He is so knowledgeable and we were very impressed. We spent some time trying things out, then we signed up and have been twice since and we love it.!!!

JD gym Sheffield, has certainly exceeded my expectations. I am really impressed with the size of the areas for exercises, choice and number of machines and free weight, cleanliness and extremely friendly and helpful staff! After being member of a strong competitor gym in the area for years and years this change has definitely brought a very positive experience to me. The app also works perfectly. Nothing really at this stage that I would recommend as an improvement; all fantastic!

Josh, one of your staff members was extremely helpful when I brought a friend to try out the gym he assisted her in getting her details down and offered to show her around the gym if she felt uncomfortable with it being her first time

Great set of equipments. Even has punching bags which was lacking in most other gyms in the city centre. Plenty of space to move around. Decent price.
The only improvement needed is some Body Assessment machine like what they have in The Gym and also more functionality within the app (unable to see current number of members in gym)

Dear JD Gyms Team,
I am writing to express my disappointment with the recent charge of £40 on my account, which I believe is incorrect and unjustified.
I had previously sent an email requesting the pause of my membership, which I assumed was processed accordingly. To my surprise, I have now been charged £40, which I have no intention of paying.
I would like to bring to your attention that the process of pausing a membership should be straightforward and user-friendly, especially in today's technology-driven world. I believe that your gym could benefit from incorporating a simple and efficient option for members to pause their membership through your mobile app.
I kindly request that you investigate this matter and immediately overturn the charge of £40 on my account. As a loyal customer, I expect prompt and efficient service, and I am disappointed with the inconvenience caused by this situation.
I look forward to your prompt and favorable response to this matter.
Thank you for your time and attention.
Best regards,
Mac
