Generally an unpleasant gym to train at. The cleanliness is rough and the whole place is untidy. Plates are difficult to locate and staff/ users etiquette is indicative of poor culture nurturing. Lo... See more

I enjoy JD Gyms, I have been training here since it was Xercise for Less. There is a variety of equipment and plenty of space. However, I have noticed the class schedule has been reduced.

Tried twice to just get an introduction, first time the fire alarm went off so the guy told me he couldn’t do it because he had to fill out a report. Second time turned up to the booked class and the guy didn’t know anything about and wasn’t trained to do it anyway. Cancelled my subscription due to poor customer service.

Well, the equipment in the gym is pretty good; no issues there. Men's Toilet They are smelly; they need improvement. Changing rooms need to be cleaned regularly. People don’t put their own clothes and shoes in the lockers, and the changing rooms are smelling. The staff should regularly monitoring and tidy up changing rooms and toilets. Place a falling-apart bucket on the floor because clings are leaking. Parts of the wall come off. The whole gym needs urgent improvement.

The equipment is great but it is so overcrowded you can never get to do what you came to do.
I have been unable to use the fly machine at all this year and couldn’t even do bench press tonight.
If you are going to take on this many members you need to double the size of the gym imo.
Very frustrating.

Nice clean modern gym. Would prefer more room for extra squat racks and deadlifting as they tend to get busy.
Good dumbbells and plenty of benches available. Would recommend to anyone to try it out.

Good gym- lots of machines.
Music way TOO loud and drum and bass.

Helpful, polite, and friendly staff. Easy to sign up, pocket friendly price(comparison to other gyms), several equipments to use depending on your interests and needs.

Great staff who are very helpful & available to guide & support. Good range of equipment.
There should be a water station on the upper floor to refill water bottles. One on each side of the ground floor as it spans a huge area.
There needs to be hand sanitiser & anti bacterial spray & blue roll to wipe down handles of equipment after use. Both on upper & lower floor.
Users can sanitise their hands when entering & leaving the site. So by the front entrance would be great!

The treadmill in ladies gym is not working. It seems rowing machine has some problem too. Before I took a break from gym, same treadmill was not working. I wonder why it is not maintained?

I have been a member of the Swansea JD Gym for the last two years and have enjoyed my experience. However I think staff need to seriously reconsider how they talk to members. My friends and I have been approached and aggressively ‘told off’ for moving around the gym with a small sports bag (which carries water and equipment) and that our membership will be cancelled. Despite this never being an issue before and never having been told that this is not allowed. We have also been rudely approached for having not returned weights on our machine. To clarify, we always return equipment used, however at the time our machine had weights left on previously which we did not use and were honestly not strong enough to move as we did not place it there originally. I know that the same man has made other girls feel uncomfortable during workouts and has constantly stared and walked into the women’s only section on various occasions.

The app QR code doesn't load on my android so i have to ask to be let in and out
The new layout in llansamlet swansea is OK. I do miss the ladies room . I like the fact all equipment is facing the front as looking at a wall wasn't very inspiring.
I like the ropes and the area for floor exercises.
What I am not keen on is the bright white lighting shining right down as I suffer with migraines, it's not the best lighting so I have to close my eyes at times when I am using certain machines. If this could be re jigged with some softer lighting or at least have them facing away from the face it was help. One other negative, there is nowhere to put your bags etc in the private cubicle in changing rooms except the wet floor ! I used to loved using the sauna , shower and change . If they put the cubicles back the way they were I would use again . It is a big part of my training to go to the gym and have the sauna to look forward to.
Seems like things have gone backward not forward
I also dislike having to use a qr code to get in and out seems like all money was used for the jail like feel of getting in .

Good range of equipment. Equipment is dirty and covered in sweat. There should be cleaning sprays and tissues available around the gym for people to wipe down the equipment.

Really nice gym with some amazing instructors. Nice layout. Great lighting and air-conditioning. The doors are annoying because the QR scanner often takes a while to work. Sometimes the app says there is a class on and it doesn't run. I only go to the gym for the classes so it's very disappointing when they don't run. The spin bikes could do with being updated and more classes offered outside of 9-5 mon-fri so people who work office hours can attend a good variety of classes outside of work
