Generally an unpleasant gym to train at. The cleanliness is rough and the whole place is untidy. Plates are difficult to locate and staff/ users etiquette is indicative of poor culture nurturing. Lo... See more

I enjoy JD Gyms, I have been training here since it was Xercise for Less. There is a variety of equipment and plenty of space. However, I have noticed the class schedule has been reduced.

Experience can be improved. Timely update for class schedule. Sometimes it’s being updated an hour ago which brings uncertainty. In case class is cancelled, must be updated on app. A red colou... See more

Plenty of great equipment, great atmosphere, staff and other gym goers are very friendly.

Good variety of machines. Very friendly staff, always available to help with any questions. The only down is that the ladies gym could be a bit bigger and the location only allowing
free parking for 3 hours which makes sometimes difficult to go to some of the scheduled classes.

Very poor experience this morning, local gym being refurbished in Llansamlet Swansea, was given code to use Parc Tawe and it took 20mins for the app to scan code to enter and then ten minutes to enter the secondary doors, then when finally entering the premises after 30mins only to find out that toilets are not open until 8am. Very poor experience and not happy. Cancelling my membership as of today and joining another gym. Just wish it was simple “ it was last week” not easy very difficult experience. Just to add to the experience there were no staff couldn’t find anyone to ask and show you around the gym. And as mentioned toilets and changing room locked until 8am, one guy said he went to the toilet or going to go outside if he can’t get into the toilet. I had to go home. I wish simply gym was still there awesome gym that was.

I only use from 00:00-06:00. The shower facilities for the out of hours period has been broken since I started and is constantly running water down the drain, weight clips for the end of bars have lost the rubber protection and can be painful to apply, I recommend barbell collar clamps which are easier to apply. also, the stickers on the weight stacks have gone so there is no indication what weight I am lifting, also gone are the stickers on most machines that tell you what they are used for and how to use them and the squat platforms have moved as they are not bolted down so the mirror is off angle when doing deadlifts or squats, and the weights plates are left all over the place. the number of dumbbells is good as is the number of benches, although another open hex bar would be good for the squat area. the Air con is brilliant. Some variation in the music would be nice too.

Overall gym was fine , but I noticed one bench was never being used so decided to try it , it was unusable for someone of say 5ft - 6'10 " the bar rests where realy way to low and the top one was way to high , absolutely nobody could use it
I know dwarves and giants have to be catered for but not having two flat benches in a very busy gym is crazy please put another in , you must have room , been training since 13 I'm know 54

Gym is well presented and trainers are friendly. Bit dark in some areas however.
Issue Is before entering showers, smells like urine. Due to showers being after toilet area. Also no sauna like other jd gyms..

Can't believe I emailed head office on the 16th July and as yet have not even had a reply, how rude!!
I messaged to say no soap in ladies toilets and no wipes or spray in the spin room.Poor aircon in the studio.
Health and Safety at Work Act states that you have a Duty of Care to both staff and clients, there is no evidence of this! A shocking way to run a gym.
The staff such as Pete and Sean in spin and Karen in Zumba are amazing, dedicated members of staff!
They also need to update their system so you know if classes are cancelled.
Come on JD you are archaic!

Gym is incredibly busy, especially at peak times, making it difficult to get free weights or get on equipment, I would say it feels that the gym doesn't have sufficient capacity.
It's also very uncared for. Equipment is old, knackered and of low quality, perhaps to try and avoid theft? Certainly a budget feeling experience at best.

Nice gym and cheaper than the others I’ve found, particularly if they’re 24 hours. My only recommendation for improvement would be QR codes on the machines that link to videos where you can find out how to use the specific models of the offered equipment.

The aircon upstairs in the cardio section in Swansea has been off for over 2 weeks and it's very difficult to exercise when it's so hot, makes you feel like fainting and when you ask the staff about it they almost like laughing in your face, as if your not the customer paying monthly to use the facilities..such bad attitude and customer service

My first class was just what I needed - tougher than the Council ones but doable. Unfortunately I wasn't told that the Saturday class was much harder and I found some of the exercises impossible. I'll stick to weekdays in future - should be just right.

Used the £10 offer to try out the gym for a month however they cancelled my membership completely after I cancelled the direct debit (so I don't pay for future months). In the email I received it said I could access the gym until the next payment date, however when I turned up I wasn't able to get in using the code and my account had been deleted from the app as I had cancelled payment for the next month (paid for the current month though didn't I?). It takes 30 days to cancel the direct debit through them, essentially meaning you have to pay for 2 months at minimum despite their claims of being a no ties, no contract, no commitment gym.
The gym was clean but had damaged equipment. It's a shame about the scummy business practices.

The equipment is a bit worn a dated . I was a member of the Gym group but parking was hard . So I changed over to JD . The chest fly machines only have very squeaky metal attachments. The rope attachments are so worn they are on the last few fibres. Most of the weight numbers are worn out on the machines so you have to guess what weight you are lifting.
