Really really really dirty. Showers smells like urine, full with hairs. Tissue all over the gym area. Just dirty

Little bit disappointing when i was leaving the gym I wanted to ask a question to the man who let me out, he didnt really seem interested in my question and was too busy trying to talk to a lady who was leaving the gym....also when I came for a free day pass the man just let me in and didnt even show me round said just go on through..
I have joined however not sure for how long...
Also there are not enough attatchments i.e ropes and bars the biix is always empty and when you are using a rope you have someone asking how long are you going to be! Definitely need to invest in more attatchments.

But I am going to join another gym

When the equipment is broken it takes WEEKS if not months to be fixed! It’s ridiculous. Half the running machines are switched off too. Missing dumbbell weights in the women’s area, vending machine half empty…does anyone actually monitor this place?? I pay a subscription fee and I expect everything to work!

In the past I've enjoyed going to this gym.
However, unfortunately a few weeks ago I made the grave mistake of going to Marianna's "body combat" class (it is NOT body combat but I'll get into that).
Marianna was EXTREMELY rude, shouting at the very small group of people (myself included) to do better and shaming us if we didn't do the movement right. No guidance at all. She singled me out in the class, shouting at me repeatedly to go exactly behind her to copy her movement. She made us use equipment like bands and weights but didn't explain anything at all.
I've never been to a JD gym class where the instructor is playing a prerecorded video (Australian) of the class and then making us copy... super weird. She was not engaging at all. I've been to a good few body combat classes now, and that class was not true body combat, it was more like a body pump class but with bullying.
There's a reason why people have been leaving West Brom classes and going to Oldbury and it's because of the great instructors from West Brom slowly moving there!

No ventilation, equipment all over the place, some equipment damaged but no sign to say damaged, constantly busy, poor lighting

Machines need repair
Toilets blocked, not all taps work.
Gym team not stacking or asking to stack the weight back.

I love coming to the jd gym they have everything but I wished they had a swimming pool

The gym and facilities are great however, I would encourage better lighting inside. Repair broken equipment faster and also provide more attachments for cable machines.

Experienced the most horrific abuse at this gym today by instructor Marianna at West Bromwich location. Other instructors at the gym are very lovely and it has never been an issue before to take a mat and use a corner of the studio to do your own workout.
The room had maximum 5 other people and during her class she screamed “GET OUT OF HERE” out of shock I did not believe she was talking to me. Then she proceeds to come and stand over my body as I am lying on the floor and scream abuse that “WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING? GET OUT NOW! YOU ARE RUINING THIS CLASS FOR EVERYONE”
I immediately apologised to her and everyone in the room as normally this is not a problem. I also asked other people in the room if I disturbed them and ALL of them said no it is fine for them as the room is fairly large and the class contained a handful of people.
I asked Marianne that as I am not disturbing anyone can I continue with the glute bridges I am doing and she proceeds to keep screaming at me aggressively walking back and forth and said “you are disturbing people because now I will not continue the class until you leave” so basically prior to this incident no one had a problem me being there but purposely she would stop the class to now bully me and make it everyone else’s problem. I said directly “it’s so sad you treat someone this way, when the purpose of a gym is for all kind of people to work out and now you are stopping me”
I left and the 2 friends I was with at the gym saw the incident from outside and could not believe an instructor would treat anyone this way. Maybe it’s racial profiling as I am Asian. I don’t know. But as mentioned the other instructors in the gym are all very nice and this incident which appears to be a misunderstanding could have been simply corrected by asking me nicely to leave and not from the start screaming GET OUT!
I know the instructors need to keep their class figures up and when they go down a certain amount their class is cancelled. And by today’s turnout she is probably on thin ice already.
But this behaviour is disgusting and by the looks of everyone in the room - she was the one who disturbed everyone and she really showed herself to be an ugly person inside and out and I can’t imagine anyone would want to go to her for any fitness support or advice.
I will be letting everyone I know about this incident as it is not okay to treat ANYONE this way EVER.
Great Gym - HORRIBLE INSTRUCTOR named Marianna!

It is not a good gym. You can only access the gym once a day. After that, someone has to let you in. This is very annoying. They also tell you can cancel membership whenever you like but make the process unnecessarily long. Even after you cancel, they will try continue your membership. I do not recommend this gym.
