The changing rooms stank of urine
No bars on the benches

I went to the spin class the lady holding the class was great but most of the bikes in the studio don’t work.
This was my first time at the gym not the best first impression. I know it’s a budget gym but still people are paying their membership so things should be working properly or remove them

Still a bit to improve
I would like a pin code as well as a barcode.
I went to the gym today Saturday, and the men's toilets were still locked. I couldn't believe it. They open the men's at 8am apparently.

Sauna again switched off at 7:00pm
Sauna again switched off at 7:00pm, this was on a Friday and it clearly states on the sign that it is on until 10:00pm Monday-Friday, spoke to a young lad on the desk and was met with arrogance and lies about how the sauna switches itself off every 6 hours to save energy, was told I could always ask a member of staff to switch it back on, I explained this was pointless as I've had to come out of the sauna, get showered and changed to come to the desk, his response was "it is what it is",the reality is the staff switch it off early so they can get away early, JD gyms are happy to up the monthly fee to £30 but not provide a half decent service, also the changing rooms and showers are dirty

This gym needs a desperate refurb
This gym needs a refurb. The equipment is broken only 2 rowing machines work. The dust is ridiculous on the walls. It hasn’t been cleaned in such a long time. It needs fumigating.

Went there cramped at 5pm fair enough moved on , clean toilets and mirrors big space , lots of equipment and track with fake grass 10/10 however the equipment was pretty hard to use when you have to wait mins for 1 pec deck while there are numerous of treadmills! However multiple lay pull downs and machine rows there so ok however the preachers aren’t do most useful and on the pec deck the seat is so bad and it doesn’t move like think abt the short people , im not short though but equality ofcourse so what they could be doing better maybe a limit to how long u shlould be on one machine and have timers for them so people dont doomscroll on benches aswell they do have a large amount of bench only one t bar row so not so good and the calisthenics area is so underdeveloped especially rings i know barely any people do them but just incase should have been considered

Plenty of space and variety of equipment.
Some of the machines need fixing. Parts missing from the cable machines. And the ropes need replacing on the cable machines too.
Just needs a little attention to detail. Saying that, you can still get a good workout in.

Very good gym
First time in a JD Gym, I have to say I found my time training here while I was working away great, low lighting, huge space, all the equipment you could ever need, friendly and helpful staff

Overall it's a good gym
Overall it's a good gym. I've been here since day 1, and unfortunately, the equipment looks like it's been here since day 1 too. Some cable equipment is missing the weight stickers making it difficult to track, the cables are often really slack (which is mostly due to people not respecting equipment) but they don't seem to get any repair until broken.
The women's changing rooms also only have 1 working hot tap which has been this way at least 12 plus months now, at one point only the cold tap was working.
There's also now a distinct lack of rope attachments as of last week, could only see 1 in the whole place.
Think staff/management really need to focus on the upkeep of the place to make it a great gym again, because it can be.
I hope you turn the heating on or up in the colder months this year post 10pm. Trying to workout in January it was colder in the gym than the snow outside.

Good gym but lacks cleaning stations and changing rooms aren't open 24hr
Gym in general is very good and there's a good selection of equipment.
My two recommendations are cleaning stations with paper roll and sanitiser like in other gyms because even though they get cleaned daily, sometimes you go to use an equipment after someone and it can have sweat all over it. My second recommendation is opening changing rooms earlier than 6am. It's a 24 hour gym and it can be frustrating to night shift workers or people who train early to have no changing rooms or showers just because they were shut at 10pm for cleaning and remains shut for next 8 hours.

However, i think a clean station needs to be installed. Even if it is just wipes . It doesn't make sense to leave machine unclean for another person to use.

From a Student’s Perspective
First, the monthly gym fee has increased significantly, which is a problem for the students. Second, the overcrowding has reduced the availability of fresh air. Third, the sauna and shower are very dirty and have a bad smell, which causes difficulty breathing.

Brilliant gym
Brilliant gym, great atmosphere, good equipment, very convenient for me as I live very close and it’s open 24/7.
My only criticism is you could do with some more machines/work stations, especially for leg workouts, you only have one station for leg extensions.
Apart from that great 👍🏼
