I was scammed by one the assistant managers, Mark. Beeby (short orange fella with sprayed on hair) who claimed to be a personal trainer. Me and my daughter paid for 20 sessions. Only got 3 and each ti... See more

Great gym for facilities but very poor hygiene
Positives - This has to be the best gym I have ever used for the amount of different machines and amount of cardio machines. Great layout and facilities on the gym floor. Open 24 hours.
Negatives- This must have the worst kept changing room/toilet area in any gym I have been to in 30 years and I have seen a few. Unfortunately this area fails to improve over several years of use. Came in late afternoon, changing room floors covered in water, empty plastic water bottles all over the place except in the bin. Toilet blocked again with paper dispenser ripped off the wall. Unfortunately this is a common occurance in this gym from some of the idiots allowed to use it.
Its not the fault of the gym but the inconsiderate users or animals that use this place. Personally if I was the owner they should be banned.
Lately all except one of the TV's in front of the treadmills no longer work. Surely this is a quick fix.

2 out of 5 stars
I've been a member of this gym for afew years and overall it's a clean, friendly environment with a great team of instructors.
The staff are approachable, and the facilities are well-maintained, which is always appreciated but more equipment is needed eg: wall balls, bands and rollers (for stretching)
That said, there are ongoing issues with the spin and burn classes that really need attention.
Classes are often cancelled last minute or led by unexpected substitute instructors without notice, which is frustrating for those of us who plan our schedules around specific sessions or instructors.
Many members have noticed that spin classes are increasingly fast-paced and overly complex, which can make them feel exclusive rather than inclusive. Not everyone wants, or can keep up with, that kind of structure.
All Classes should be welcoming to all fitness levels, not just a small group of regulars to the certain instructor on the scheduled class.
There’s been quite a bit of feedback and dissatisfaction voiced by members, but unfortunately, nothing seems to be changing. It would be great to see the return of some of the more popular instructors, or to bring in more qualified staff to reduce cancellations and ensure better class variety and consistency.
This gym has so much potential and already does many things right, but a better approach to class scheduling and accessibility would make a big difference for the broader community of members.

Some staff are rude
Some staff are rude. Only interested when they think you’re going to pay for personal 1 to 1’s. Equipment not kept to the best standard. And the new manager is just damn right rude!

Fantastic gym
Fantastic gym , easy to use , plenty of equipment and space despite busy hours . Only thing that puts me off is the strong smell coming from the mens showers . Don't want to say what It smells like in here but please bleach it or arrange a drainage contractor to eliminate the smell

Great gym but quite busy
Gym equipment is great. Has literally everything you need. Plenty of parking. However, gym itself is very busy. I normally go around 7pm and it is packed especially earlier in the week.

Cleaners are rude and arrogant. Wouldn’t recommend if you’re going alone. Prices went up with notifying and now paying extortionate price just to keep fit

No checks
Anybody can sign up and have access to the Wythenshawe JD gym as they don’t require documents for proof of age.
The site states anyone from the age of 16 is allowed to join. However, the gym has young children in, age 12, 13 and 14 wearing skimpy clothing in all the time. This is a major safeguarding issue!
