Excellent services would highly recommend

I used JMP conveyancing department for the sale of my leasehold property. Kirsty Andrew went above and beyond and kept my sale moving even though the buyers solicitor was an absolute nightmare. Kirsty was very professional and extremely patient through some very trying times with the other side. The cost for JMP’s services were very reasonable and money definitely well spent. I cannot thank Kirsty enough and would highly recommend her and JMP Solicitors services. I would definitely use them again.

The service was professional from the…

The service was professional from the beginning and the initial offer was quite quick in coming through. We decided to decline this on the advice of our solicitor which we still agree was the correct decision.
Unfortunately, the independent doctor could not examine me in person due to covid restrictions and so did the consultation on the phone. He even got the wrong foot and the wrong toe during our discussion and concluded ( wrongly) that it was not a fracture, which went against what I was told personally by the doctor in a&e.
Unfortunately, he was not willing to change his mind on this ( we are convinced it was a case of him not wanting to admit he was mistaken) and so we were forced into accepting his findings and close the case because it became obvious that he was not going to admit error.
The only slight criticism I would have is that your solicitor did not inform us at any point ( until Monique took over the case) that we could ask if the original offer was still on the table otherwise we would have agreed to accept at a much earlier date. We were led to believe that we had turned it down and so could either continue to challenge the doctor or accept his findings and therefore accept a lower offer.
Anyway, all’s well that ends well and we are just thankful that they kept the original offer. Apart from the misunderstanding ( slight lack of communication), a very professional service. Thanks again.
Kind Regards
Laura (Owen).

JMP Solicitors Poor Service

JMP Solicitors provided, unprofessional, slow, incompetent and negligent conveyancing service. They were given the opportunity to respond to a formal complaint, but chose the typical response of making false claims, avoiding questions and demanding full fees.

We had 12 weeks with Slater + Gordon Lawyers doing zero work, and I mean zero work (check out the review) so our buyer made us change solicitors.

JMP Solicitors took on the instruction knowing this, they appointed Nikkita Haywood as our solicitor. This process should not have taken more than 3 months, I don’t mean the sale should have gone through, I mean the process (however it was going to end, success or failure) should not have taken over eight months.

This was an all cash transaction with only 3 parties, with the bottom of the chain a second home buyer, and top of the chain a vacant property. Working only 3 days a week meant weeks turned into months and very slow progress. I complained about the 3 day work week of our solicitor to head of department Jacqui Harley and this was the reason she took over the file. The fact it took so long was the reason the seller withdrew from the process, alas JMP Solicitors poor service caused the ultimate failure of the process.

A client should be able to trust their solicitor and believe they work in their interests.

However, JMP Solicitors accepted the seller’s solicitors (Chattertons Solicitors) lies about an agreement between parties regarding a clawback clause, and the typical solicitor claptrap about it being ‘Standard’. They should have challenged Chattertons Solicitors and negotiated on our behalf which they failed to do.

Replying to the formal complaint Ian Howard stated we were advised that this type of clause is complicated and complex. Stating 8 pages of legal jargon as ‘complicated and complex’ is not advice. They were asked to explain the clause in writing, which they have failed to do.

Ian Howard falsely claims a number of times in the response, we refused a face to face meeting to discuss the clause. We asked for the details in writing so we could use them in court if required.
Knowing solicitors like to make false claims such as clients refusing meetings or claim they did provide advice (Mr Howard), or mislead and lie (Chattertons Solicitors) any face to face meeting would have been recorded and then transcribed.

Chattertons Solicitors state this clause is ‘standard’, if so JMP Solicitors should have been able to either explain the clause or insist Chattertons explain it.

While waiting for a response to the complaint (which they insisted must take 28 days), JMP Solicitors sent two invoices demanding full payment within 7 days of invoice date. Due to the 3 day work week of the solicitor, there was a delay in posting so they arrived the same day payment was required.

JMP Solicitors can apologise for their poor service and accept they will have to negotiate their fees.

I regret the day I picked up the phone.

I regret the day I picked up the phone to call them, I regret using them. I wish I had gone with an online conveyancer. It’s like they were hired by the buyer and the estate agent. I was charged full fee even though it clearly states that you pay for expenses. According to JMP and the estate agents, I had a buyer and so I have to pay the charges. I will be writing a full review with all the facts.

Japanese knotweed

Had a Japanese Knotwerd case which was dealt with by Samantha at JMP. We were incredibly worried when we realised we had knotweed on the property, however we were reassured throughout our dealings with JMP and we received a successful outcome in order for us to get rid of the knotweed. JMP were great in keeping in contact with us, answering any of our questions and ultimately getting us the desired outcome. Would recommend them to all.

After a long process starting with Elizabeth Royal and concluded by Neil McKinley, he was able to settle my claim. The support and advice received was great and accurate. It would be good if JMP would be more in touch instead of me chasing them for updates, that was my only issue I had.
