I rented a property through JW & Co and had a very poor experience. The home developed severe mould, which affected both my partner’s and my health. I reported the problem several times and provided photos, but it took months before anyone responded, and the issue was never properly resolved.

We ultimately had to move out for our own wellbeing and lost our deposit in the process. The whole situation was handled with little urgency or concern, and communication throughout was unhelpful. Based on my experience, I wouldn’t recommend JW & Co to anyone looking for a professionally managed or safe rental property.

Lauren and Samuel provided such a brilliant service managing my let property. I've used two other letting agents in the area over the last 12 years and they are by far and above the best! Brilliant communication, rental income on time, happy tenants (who work in estate agency), and efficient communication with Fine&Country when I came to sell August 2024. Thank you to the whole team.

Horrible experience with their London Colney branch. They treat tenants like garbage and only work in favour of the greedy landlords.
We have lived there for almost 5 years and made huge improvements to the place (most of the times out of our pockets as the landlords always refused to pay for any works).
Despite having left the property in much better conditions than it was originally, the landlord refused to pay us back part of the deposit and both the landlord and the estate agents even denied they gave us permission to carry out some of the improvement works (even though we had an email from them confirming the go ahead with those works).
They complained about us refreshing the paint in the property and the bad smell they claimed came from the carpets they believed it was due to the fact we had cats but which was actually due to the drainage in the kitchen and lack of ventilation in the property for weeks after we left.
When we rented the property, part of the furniture was missing, the gas fireplace was not even working (even though it was supposed to, according to the property's advert).
When we moved in, we agreed wuth the estate agents to purchase the missing piece of furniture and the cost of it was deducted from our renewal fees. When we left the property, the landlords claimed it was our responsibility to get rid of that piece of furniture even though they paid for it, claiming the property was supposed to be completely emptied when our tenancy ended. Our intention was therefore to collect it and donate it to a local charity shop so that others could benefit from it as it was still in very good condition, but, as the landlords denied us access to the property after leaving, that prevented us from doing so. The landlords decided therefore to charge us over £100 to get rid of it by scrapping it instead.
Please avoid if you can or make sure any agreements made is in writing in order to avoid any negative comebacks from them or the landlords.

Excellent agent - highly recommend. Viewings were conducted professionally, informatively and in a friendly, non pushy manner. Danielle was patient and friendly and lovely to deal with.

We also sold through JW, primarliy working with Tim. I won't talk about other agents, but Tim was definitely a superstar. He was always comunicative and available for calls and emails. He was orgnaised when it came closer to exchange and kept everyone in the chain moving forward. He is clearly very experienced, which is what you need for such a complcated and stressful process.

Please use JW&Co - your future self will thank you!

We were happy with the service we received up to the point of actually viewing the property.
15 mins into our viewing the agent left us to let the next family viewing into the property. She then left us shortly after to start showing them round instead! I have had many viewings over the years (both buying and selling) but never experience that treatment before.
As we left I saw the sheet she had, listing the viewings for the day which she had accidentally left in the hallway. It appears we were only booked in for 15 mins, whereas everyone else had the standard 30 mins.
Given it was a large house that was never going to work - had we been told in advance (or when we arrived even) we could have decided to either rearrange or to speed up the viewing. But there was no mention. When I challenged her as to why we only had 15 mins there was NO apology and she tried to fob me off.
We had loved the property online and went with the intention of making an offer but based on that experience we do not wish to deal with this agent so won’t be taking it any further.

Ruth was absolutely amazing she ensured the sale progressed at a good pace and followed up on any issues faced in the conveyancing process her local knowledge was outstanding and she was an absolute pleasure to work with could not have had a better experience with JW&Co

Best estate agents I have ever used . Very professional and knowledgeable team in the London Colney office, especially Jack Cotton who was outstanding . Would highly recommend them to anyone who is buying or selling a property .

Tim and Danielle in the Bushey Heath office were absolutely fantastic throughout the entire process.
A sales day was arranged where we had 30 back to back viewings that resulted in a number of offers achieving a sold price that we were extremely happy with.

We were looking at a buying a property in Park Street, St Albans through JW&Co. Danielle Saville was our point of contact there.
She was wonderful but only till the exchange took place. All the promises made by her to make sure things were adhered to and see the deal right through till the end were not kept. She put her hands up and very conveniently asked us to make the calls and follow up on our own, stating she no longer has time for them. There were also a few lapses in communication from her end which made the dealing a bit tricky. Makes me wonder if that is the work culture of the company or is it just her being a disappointment.
Never will we want to deal with them again. Not been a pleasant experience. Customer service needs working on.
