We have never sold a property before and had lots of questions about how it works. The staff were so patient with us and helped us every step of the way.

After trying to sell our home with a handful of local and national estate agents who wooed us with big valuations and promises of keen buyers in our area, we've had a great experience of selling with JW Wood in a challenging market. Julie, Jonathan and the team couldn't have been more helpful with their advice, even long before we switched to Woods, and now they're being equally proactive to help us with our next move. We will definitely use JWW when moving again in future (hopefully a long time off!) and we'll save ourselves a lot of headache by starting with them next time!

AVOID AVOID AVOID AVOID. They were dishonest and were not presenting our interests as the sellers and promoted and protected the buyer. The overall service verged on negligence and they were in violation of three of the codes of conduct that they are signatory to, and we thought about taking them to the property Ombudsman but we decided our time is too valuable to spend on them. The Durham office knew that we were so disappointed and so shocked, of how things transpired including the managing director, but not a single person picked up the phone to talk to us.

They deserve 0 stars in reality. They in fact give a bad name to real estate agents. It took us that long to digest how badly they managed the whole process over an 11 months period, and only now we feel we can put a review that reflects their unprofessionalism, dishonesty and the favoring of the buyer, while representing us and the sale of our house.

Avoid, going through the property ombudsman to address issues with this estate agent, very poor customer service, they genuinely don’t know what they are talking about, clueless at best!

An absolutely crooked student rental agent.
Beware, they claim against deposit for redecoration of rooms that are handed back in exactly the same state as received, claim for damage that was present but hidden when you move in, and change your checkout form from that you sign when checking out, when you dispute this with TDS.
Keep all documentation, take photos and video everything at check in and out, but ideally avoid the agent in the first place.

Just sold another property through the Stanley office, great service from start to finish. Chris the valuer was very knowledgeable and professional, Vicky in the office was great as always and Beverley in the after sales team was brilliant, always contactable and made the sale fliw easily.

After 15 viewings on my property without a sale I found out that JW Woods were letting the tenant I was evicting handle viewings.
Complete incompetency. Terrible service. Wasted opportunity to sell now the market is in freefall.

I found the staff at JW Wood very professional, understanding and helpful, if the member of staff wasn't available to speak to there was always a call back the same day. They were informative with updates and kept us in the loop and would always ensure viewings at the premises would go ahead if we couldn't make them personally.

Friendly,supportive staff all the way, Jenny in Durham was brilliant, contacting me regularly to keep me in the loop. A few twists and turns along the way from the buyer, which got me worried, but Jenny was calm and reassuring throughout, and we finally got over the line.

Unbelievable experience trying to secure student housing for 23/24. Was told we couldn’t get any information and had to wait for the properties to launch. Checked website every 10 minutes every day. They launched and instantly every one of the 100 plus properties already had applications on. How is that even possible? Terrible agent.

Vile buying experience when purchasing our first home. We were not treated seriously by the agent in a little Aygo.
We asked for a second viewing once our offer had been accepted and she proceeded to follow us around the house making comments about fairies and pixies. An absolute joke and shocking, bitter attitude.

Should be 0 stars! JW WOOD ARE THE WORST ESTATE AGENT i have ever professionally and personally encountered! Rude staff, poor communication, inability to deal with timely repairs, lived in a bug infested house for 6 months and now they want my deposit! AVOID

Difficult and work shy. Avoid.

I would choose 0 stars if it was an option. Difficult to deal with and always avoided maintenance requests. Was left without hot water for over a month. House was very dirty at start of tennancy (including human waste left in toilet). At end of tennancy charged ridiculous amounts for 'cleaning' which didn't need doing and were difficult to negotiate with.
