Kingsbridge Opticians provides an excellent, courteous and professional service. Shane Higgins is a very competent, thorough and patient Optician who has dealt with all the varied needs of our family superbly. Can’t recommend Shane and the team strongly enough.

I have been attending Shane Higgins, Optometrist for a few years. He is Professional, friendly and excellent at his job. I highly recommend him. All the staff are very professional. Aftercare is excellent. I was informed that I had cataract in both eyes, left one worse than right. Shane referred me to a surgeon who felt that I needed urgent surgery on left eye. This was carried out within weeks, I went to see Shane one week after surgery who sorted me out with a contact lens. He is absolutely fantastic at his job! Highly recommended.

Shane has been looking after my visual health for several years. I have alway found him to be attentive, efficient and very focussed. He is also very approachable and friendly.

My most recent interaction was a follow up after recent cataract surgery. We discussed all the issues I needed to consider and, in his usual manner, he left me feeling very confident in his ability to continue to meet my needs.

I recently had a corneal abrasion that happened in work, after it happened I was taken to RVH eye casualty where I was then referred to NIPEARS at Kingsbridge. I was so thankful for the prompt service at Kingsbridge as I was in a lot of pain. Shane was extremely helpful and so lovely, he has a good personable approach to patients and made me feel reassured right away. I would highly recommend Shane at Kingsbridge.

On May 19th 2021 I experienced flashing lights in my right eye. I contacted Shane who drove to Belfast,diagnosed detatched retina and organised an immediate appointment at RVH for emergency surgery. Shane went out of his way to help me. He was very professional and I could totally recommend him.

Shane is without doubt the most patient and understanding Optician I have ever been to. Whether testing for glasses or contact lenses, he gently guides through the options making what can be a stressful situation a very positive experience and is always willing to provide support when needed. He and the team around him are professional and friendly and I have no hesitation in recommending them to anyone .

I would thoroughly recommend using Kingsbridge Opticians. I first used this service 9 years ago when my 4 year old son needed glasses. My son was under the care of Mr Shane Higgins and he was immediately put at ease with his easy manner. The care was fantastic, the treatment involved eye patching and changing lenses for a number of years until his eyes settled. My son now enjoys great vision thanks to the close monitoring over the early years. His patient care and advice has been fantastic. We still attend regular check ups.

Ive used Kingsbridge Opticians for years and their service is next to none whether it be routine check ups or emergency appointments! Shane is brilliant and the kids love having to get their eyes checked with him!

The first thing you notice in Kingsbridge is the friendliness of the staff. The opticians use high-tech equipment during your eye exam for a thorough check up. I get a vision test and a contact lens check. The opticians are so professional, and Nigel is really helpful when it comes to picking suitable frames.

I recently bought a pair of Rayban sunglasses from Kingsbridge Opticians. I had been looking for a pair for a good while and couldn’t find anything big enough. They had a great selection of sunglasses in stock but none that were big enough for me. The staff were so helpful and knowledgeable and offered to order in a frame for me try in a bigger size. It arrived within two weeks and fits perfectly. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff and I will definitely be going to Kingsbridge opticians for sight tests in the future.

I’ve been going to Kingsbridge Opticians (formerly Sweeney’s) in Donaghadee for many years. Service is second to none. I’ve dealt with Richard, Nigel and Shane and their expertise and service is always fantastic. They are also extremely patient when it comes to choosing the right frames and not always pushing the dearest brand but rather the one that suits me best.
