Believe all the bad reviews you see and stay away from this company! If I could rate 0 stars I would.
We signed a contract on 28/1/25 for a front porch door and screens. As of today 14/6/25 we still have not had any installation.
Every install date we were given no one has shown up and we've had awful communication as we had to email them to see what was happening or we would get an email on the day with an excuse!
After getting tired of waiting we told Paul the MD to cancel the order and refund our money, he then phoned me and begged for another chance. We reluctantly agreed and guess what no install, and an email at 10am with another excuse!
Paul is now ghosting us and won't answer calls or emails so we have been left with no choice but to go to small claims court to get our money back!
It's a terrible company with poor management and it makes me wonder what their actual work is like if this is how the company is managed.
Stay away, don't use!
Don't waste your time with Knightswood
Don't waste your time with Knightswood! Stay well clear of them.
We had a knock at the door and I decided to give them a go as I wanted a new porch door and front fitting, I was assured by Pal the sales guy that the reviews were fake and they were a great company. So great in fact that Pal has now left.
We put the order in on 28/01/25 and as of today 02/06/25 (17wks) we still have not had the install. On the contrat it says 2-8wks for installation.
First install date there was a problem with the manufacture of the door, second install date the manufacturer was behind on orders and the third was that the boss was in hospital?! As he wasn't doing the install i don't see the relevance and its all just excuses! Every time the install date comes we get an email on the day with an excuse. Poor communication, poor way of doing business, in fact poor all round.
Luckily we only paid a small deposit which we are now going to have to get back. So I'm going to have to use my day off to contact citizens advice and trading standards!
Believe all the bad reviews you see about this company and don't bother trying to give them the benefit of the doubt as you'll end up regretting it as we do now!
Difficult to contact, could improve their processes.
I'll start by saying the work completed seems fine, no problems so far. However the work wasn't actually completed by knightswood, they hired contractors to do it for them so I can't attribute a job well done to knightswood.
My current issue is with all of the waste from the work which is currently dumped down the side of my house and across my neighbours property and has been for a couple of weeks. The contractors advised it is up to knightswood to dispose of the waste. I can see on my order form that waste disposal is included in what I paid for. They were calling me twice a day to get me to pay and now I don't hear a peep off them since they received the money. They haven't replied to my calls or emails asking when they will collect the waste.
It's ironic because we tried to cancel the service with them the day after we booked it because I saw all of these bad reviews on trust pilot. They promised us the bad reviews are fake and they're being targeted by a competitor, we decided to give them a chance as they also pointed us to another review website which had good reviews. They also refunded our deposit so we could have the work done without spending a penny and pay in full once we were happy with the job. I should have witheld the money until they collected the rubbish.
I also should have spotted a red flag when Paul turned up on our doorstep a week before the work was due. We'd had no communication from them for over 3 months. We'd started to wonder if they had decided not to bother as they hadn't taken any money from us. But one day he just turned up, wanting to take additional photos, no call or email in advance, which is extremely inconvenient for those who work full time.
At this point, I'm attempting to recall the payment and will also look to get in touch with Citizens Advice and Trading Standards if they don't get back to me.
For anyone considering choosing them, I would advise to think carefully before you make a decision.
Edit 12/04/25:
Since posting the review the company has gotten in touch. Paul has accepted the feedback (although I wouldn't say this is entirely his fault as no one picked up my numerous voicemails to the office number), explained there were additional issues from his side and the waste was collected within 24 hours. Amended my review from 1 star to 3 based on the speediness of resolving the issue.
Good service
Replacement of fascia,soffit and guttering.
Arrived on time, started work immediately. Courteous. Finished work by the end of the day (as I'd hoped for) .
I am very pleased by the appearance and standard of the work.
Guttering, Facias and Soffits
The two fitters were very well mannered and respectful of my property and consulted me after they had completed each step of the job.
The company rang and advised me of when the materials were being delivered and also when the fitters were on their way to me. I was also spoken with after completion to see if I was happy with the work. I am very happy with the job that has been done and it has greatly improved the appearance of my home. I would be happy to recommend them.

The only problem we had was due to the recent weather we had to wait little over a week from the original date for the work to be carried out. The work itself I could falt it. The two lads worked hard and were very polite. And they cleaned all the waste that was left and swept all the drive off. And the guy Pall came and inspected the work to make sure it was at a high standard. Excellent job. Forget all the negative reviews it's probably other contractors trying to get work. Mr L Clarke.
Knightswood were great
Knightswood themselves were great! Their suppliers/factory for making the door were awful. (They have assured me they have a new supplier) They didn't make the door on time so had to postpone, then they messed up the measurements so had to reorder the door. I would use knightswood again.
Great Service
I was so thrilled with the service and the team worked with us on costing and availability. When they came to fit the door the team were very respectful and did the job very quickly and cleared the mess behind them. Overall I can not fault them and thank them for the the work they have done.
Took Advantage of Elderly/Vulnerable Relatives
Review written on behalf of Mr & Mrs Johnson.
***Udated 21/10/24***
Reputable roof company, who will br overhauling the substandard work done, have since advised Knightswood fitter removed the flue to lay rubber, which they are unqualified to do and breaches Gas Safe Regulations.
Knightswood Home Improvement, who trade as Stonfield West Ltd, have left two elderly and vulnerable individuals fearful and in a constant state of panic since work was agreed to replace a garage roof around May this year.
They had been approached by the firm, who knocked on their door uninvited, claiming to be doing work in the area. After a brief conversation and a deposit being paid, the couple were convinced their perfectly fit-for-purpose roof needed an overhaul, a roof which has had no leaks or issues for the last 70+ years.
Work begun and my Uncle a retiree at 94 a master carpenter by trade, raised concerns on the first day. Owing to the fact that the incorrect number of firring strips had been ordered, more firring strips had to be ordered by Paul, the manager. Further concerns were raised with the fitting of the furring strips as they drain away were being positioned towards the property rather than away. In addition to the draining being piped internally rather than externally, a fact we only found out later after having two reputable roofing companies complete damning reports.
Being very trusting, my Uncle allowed the fitter to continue, and, in hindsight, wished he'd ordered all work to stop immediately had he known the level of poor workmanship he was going to endure, having paid over £3,000 for substandard labour with materials.
He raised concerns with the company shortly thereafter, having managed to inspect the work with neighbours who were just as dismayed. Knightswood Home Improvements/Stonefield Ltd then refused to attend, which left us with no choice but to contact the CAB and Trading Standards to understand any redress available.
Under guidance we again contacted the company in writing and via email requesting they attend to address the poor workmanship, this was ignored and we followed up with a letter including an email to the effect that should they not respond, our next step would be to raise a civil case via the Small Claims Court, which they too have ignored.
During the recent downpours, the pooling water has begun to gush into the garage uncontrollably, leaving the vulnerable couple fearful the roof could collapse; again, a request was made to the company to attend under warranty, and this was refused.
As a result, we've sought the assistance of a reputable company in the area, who, after being shocked, appalled and disgusted by the poor state of the roof work completed by Knightswood, has agreed to complete an overhaul at considerable cost.
Latest Update: Having raised concerns on Trustpilot, a review which was removed then deleted by us, we decided to leave another review, to which Knightswood queried via Trustpilot and requested we submit proofs as they didn't seem to be aware of any works completed for my elderly relatives, we duly provided the order forms/receipts and contract. Knightswood acknowledged this by email but claims it was blurred, to which we requested the original email trail as it contained the request to attend under the warranty and threat before court action. We had requested all communication to be made directly to one individual via email. Knightswood/Stonefield then took it upon themselves to call my mobile while at work claiming to be asking for an 'Ella' shortly after I had submitted proofs. I've raised my concerns with the police
as all phone calls are logged for an indefinite period, so they cannot claim to have not attempted to contact me under false pretences.
This whole debacle is reminiscent of episodes we would watch on Rogue Traders with cowboy tradespeople taking advantage of elderly/vulnerable customers, never would I imagine a family member becoming a victim.
We've also raised our concerns with Trustpilot regarding the spate of suspicious positive feedback, in addition to raising safeguarding concerns with the police should Knightswood Home Improvement/Stonefield West Ltd (or their representatives) attempt to contact Mr & Mrs Johnson without prior agreement.
We've certainly learnt a lesson the hard way; we can only suggest you use your diligence when selecting a tradesperson, do your research and be wary of any company not accredited who don't have a website or trading address that's not a solicitor office.
Ask for recommendations from friends/family who've had work done, or put up an advert on your FB and beware of companies like Knightswood Home Improvements/Stonefield West Ltd
Great roof job
The roofer did a great job and the company were clear about what I had to pay and when they would perform the job so I am very pleased and would have no hesitation of recommending the company to others and I would use their services again.
Despicable Rogue Traders

Avoid at all costs - wouldn't know what the words trustworthy, honest, reputable, professional, reliable was if it hit them in the face.
Young man by the name of Connor knocked our door, offering to straighten our gutters for £25, in my old age I didn't fancy the climb and mentioned he'd just completed some work in the street already.
A few minutes must have passed before he came knocking, to say it looked like the roof lining was flaying in the wind and he could pin it down for £10. I foolishly agreed. The job list quickly grew and next was the fascia which was loose, then the gutters needed clearing. It was job after job, to which I politely declined and had the gut feeling I was dealing with an unscrupulous company.
This proved correct after an hour of being on the property he tried to bill me for £850 worth of work, if it wasn't for my neighbour, who sent him packing and warned him if he ever turned into the street again, he'd get a good hiding.
I did feel sorry for him as it looked like he had been given a few wraps around the head by Paul and Daniel, who sat in their run down van smoking, while the young lad tried to fleece us.
My neighbour then went up the ladder to inspect the work to find cigarette butts and a snickers rapper, the young lad hadn't done any work.
I found their details on Companies House (Stonefield West Ltd) and will be reporting the matter to Trading Standards and the police.
Avoid, avoid, avoid! Are the positive reviews fake?
Would avoid Knightswood Home Improvements at all costs! Currently seeking legal advice in relation to work they poorly carried out and have refused to correct.
They appear to solicit most of their work via door knocking and pressuring elderly residents into parting with money for poorly completed jobs.
These ethics are clearly what have led to a variety of other poor reviews (that I wish I’d read beforehand) and lead me to question whether the positive reviews are genuine.

Put down a deposit in January, and was promised full refund if Finance was not accepted
It was not and to this day I am still chasing the refund, after several emails, calls and texts I have now been blocked!
No doubt I'll ever see that 600odd again!
Con artists!

Very pleased with the workmanship and product. And the fitters exceptional. Would recommend the company any time.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS
I placed an order in Jan 24 and payed a deposit. I had to cancel the order which I did within 14 days and sent the form back by recorded delivery, so I knew it had been delivered. I had a visit from the sales man to ask why we had cancelled and this was explained.
Despite emails, messages left and 75 phone calls I still have not received my deposit back. When I have spoken to someone they promise to call back and they dont, messages left for a return call dont work either.

I found Knightswood home improvements online. Gave them a call with regards to some windows I wanted. They were very quick and efficient from start to finish, the work was pure quality and I couldn't have asked for a better service. I will be using Paul and the team again and would recommend Knightswood to anyone who is looking for home improvements. You will get good qty, brilliant service and a great job done. Worry free. A*
