Latin Routes Reviews 

We spent a fantastic few weeks touring Costa Rica and experiencing all of the wonderful diverse parts of the country. Charlie helped to plan the trip and suggested the hotels and lodges that we stayed in. We would highly recommend Latin Routes for their knowledge and excellent customer care.

My wife and I had a five-week self-drive tour through Chile and Argentina, which due to the geography of the countries was a complex mix of rental 4x4s and internal flights. Latin Routes created a superb schedule based on our initial vague thoughts. Their staff were always helpful, flexible, and responsive. It was not unusual to get a call in the evening from Latin Routes responding to my queries - this kind of responsiveness was unexpected but made life so much simpler.
The trip worked faultlessly in practice. Hotels were excellent, and SouthBound, their on-the-ground partner in South America was always on hand if we had queries.
I normally arrange all the detail and bookings for our trips myself, but after this I am questioning whether this is sensible. Certainly for South America it will be back to Latin Routes for all future trips.

She arranged for 6 different hotels and transportation in between together with various tours and trips in the parks and rainforest
These all went without a hitch.
The guides and drivers were friendly and knowledgeable and most have a fair command of English which was helpful as our Spanish is not great.

My holiday was 7/1/23 - 22/1/23. A week across Costa Rica and a week on the Star Clipper along the Pacific coast of Costa Rica and Panama. For this 2 week holiday with Latin Routes, the whole experience was good. I had a number of questions before travelling and a small issue with my bill - but this was all sorted immediately. Any questions were answered straight away or they would get back to me very quickly with an answer.
On arriving in Costa Rica all my transfers were confirmed on arrival with the first pick up. I changed a few of the timings with no problem. The hotels were all beautiful and and the Star Clipper experience Great.
Beautiful country and lovely people, all welcoming and helpful and clearly very proud of their country. Weather changed in different areas but beautifully warm.
I would recommend Latin Routes to family and friends and hope to travel with them again some time in the future.

I decided to take a trip to Costa Rica at very short notice. Charlie from Latin Routes did an excellent job of organising my trip for me , which wasn't straight forward as I was meeting up with family half way through! He worked hard to facilitate the trip for me in a very short space of time ( I might add that a couple of other tour companies dismissed my enquiries out of hand as being too short notice). This being the busiest part of the holiday season I was impressed with the accomodation he managed to secure for the trip. Likewise the transfer arrangements were all effieciently organised and executed. All in all a very positive experience and I would certainly use Latin Routes again.

We travelled with Latin Routes in September on the 'Journey to Rio' trip and had a fantastic time! Marcelo our guide was informative, interesting and humorous and the extra local guides in Buenos Aires and Iguazu were both good too. The Latin Routes App was really brilliant and gave us ideas of things to do in our free time. The only thing we would have changed is the day we travelled from Buenos Aires to Iguazu which started with leaving our hotel at 4am without breakfast, flying to Iguazu and travelling straight to the Falls, again with no food and no chance to buy any. We eventually got something to eat at 5 in the afternoon! Apart from that we would highly recommend this trip - thanks Latin Routes!

Brilliant organisation great itinerary and complety reliable agents on the ground in Peru

A very thorough package, professionally delivered. Everything happen as expected and on time. Alex was my main contact - very helpful and competent. My first contact at Buenos Aires was Margarita and she is wonderful, being available through WhatsApp if I need any advice. The Hotels were excellent and the transfers were a high quality. I would use this company again without a second thought, they deserve their awards.

A BIG thank you to Latin Routes and your South American associates for our fantastic 4 weeks tour. Making it work following the COVID rollover from 2020 was – and is - very much appreciated. We can only say that the holiday was pretty much faultless. All of the hotels were great - and even more so all of the guides (& drivers where applicable) were all excellent. Just to mention one hotel ‘in dispatches’ the Mine Hotel Boutique in Buenos Aries was exceptional – great attention to detail with very friendly and helpful staff. All others came a very close 2nd. The My Routes Travel App we found exceptionally useful. On a latter note - rolling with our Puerto Natales to El Calafate transit change was also very much appreciated. A great holiday.

Where to begin Latin ROUTE organized our journey from start to finish,from pick up points ,hotels, EXCURSIONS, great knowledge of the country and pointing out high lights, Made sure we arrived at our destination safe and sound and was kept a watchful eye on us which was a group of 7.Sorted out if we had any problems which quite often was ordering food or drink.The guides were brilliant ours were Marcelo and Anne made us feel quite safe .Would travel with this company again no problem.

From start to finish Latin Routes have been excellent. We simply gave them our available dates, said what we'd like to try and fit in and they organised everything. Our transits were simple, all our guides and drivers were friendly, knowledgeable and had perfect time keeping. Our guide for the Inca trail was exceptional, and everything went like clockwork. They were always available for any pre-trip queries, and we had a 24 hour contact whilst in Peru. I would certainly travel with them again, and would recommend their services.

Reading the other reviews I’m pleased to say that I 100% agree, Latin Routes are a 5 star tour operator. We used them for our 3 week custom trip to Peru.

Booked 2 months before the pandemic we eventually got to Peru last month, over 2 years late. From being supportive of our decisions to delay to being responsive and on top of emerging issues in the months before the trip, to helping change the flights back from the Amazon when we got stranded in Lima due to aircraft technical issues Latin Routes service has been excellent.

Supported by fantastic and attentive local agents Coltur, Yupi, and Rainforest Adventures all of whom provided outstanding service and knowledgable guides.

Ricardo listened to our ideas of where we wanted to visit in Costa Rica and created an itinerary that included all these, excursions and linked them with a great flight plan, that avoided excessively long transfers. We were able to see lots of amazing Costa Rica, stay in fabulous hotels and have mostly private transfers all within our budget, we would definitely recommend Latin Routes.

What an amazing 2 weeks Latin Routes arranged for us in Peru. 6 different hotels, countless transfers and tours and all exceptionally well organised. We never had to chase anyone: guides, taxis, buses etc turned up bang on time as promised with tickets in hand. We are already in discussion with Latin Routes about next year's trip.

Our 3 week trip to Chile was incredible. From Star Gazing, and fascinating trips to the Geysers and Salt Lakes in the Atacama Desert on the Tropic of Capricorn to Horse Riding at Torres del Paine and Puerto Natales 51 degrees south, painted houses in Valparaiso, Vina Matetic in the Casablanca valley we loved every minute of it. Not to mention our self drive on the Austral Highway from Balmaceda to Puerto Varras through the Lake District and our stay in a cabin at Caleta Gonzalo is not to be missed.

The Chileans are so friendly and helpful. Our guides were exceptionally knowledgeable and totally fluent. Our drivers were always on time and drove carefully. We felt very safe in Chile and add you can drink the water in most places!

The planning and execution of the itinerary from the Latin Routes team, Sean & Jess was superb. Their support with everything in the UK and on the ground in Chile, including Covid travel document requirements was outstanding. Like many, our trip was planned before Covid struck and all thanks to Seema's reassurance we stuck with Latin Routes and are so glad we didn't cancel and didn't miss a trip of a lifetime. We have fabulous memories to treasure and stunning photos to remind us how wonderful Chile is.

We used your company to go to South America in 2019. Westgate travel sourced your company Latin Routes for us. We were so impressed with the service that we decided to go with you again. Your partners that you used in Costa Rica - Travel Excellence were very good. In particular our guide Francesco and our driver Carlos. They both went out of their way to make our trip special. Nothing was too much trouble.
We enjoyed all the hotels, but in particular The Parador in Manuel Antonio, where it exceeded our expectations. And a big thank you to the member of your team that suggested we upgrade to the Vista Suite - which was the icing in the cake - excellent.

The Latin Routes’ package to Costa Rica March 2022 was well organised from start to finish (including our extra days at the Parador Hotel in Manuel Antonio which was lovely). Pick-ups and transfers were on time and the hotel descriptions were accurate and honest. Our guide Francesco was so knowledgeable and our driver Carlos - they were brilliant, and we certainly felt we discovered so much about their beautiful country through their enthusiasm and good humour! A highly recommended tour.

I have just had 2 and a half weeks visiting Argentina and Brazil. The itinerary was put together perfectly by Charlie. Buenos Aires was a fabulous city to stroll around and the restaurants were superb. We then flew up to iguazu falls for a couple of nights and had a great guide. Went on to The Pantanal and saw the most incredible wildlife and had a fantastic guide ! My husband just loved fishing on the wetlands and on the lake. Our last few days were spent relaxing in Buzios which is a couple of hours drive from Rio but so worth the drive as it was so relaxing and we loved strolling around the shops bars and fantastic little restaurants of this beautiful resort. We felt so safe and secure here, we were told that everyone has more or less been vaccinated now, masks were pretty much the same as in the UK. Some chose to wear them some didn't. The world is opening up and if you get chance go to South America it's fantastic, we loved it! We'll be back .... Thanks again ! Kay @palmtreestravel

Costa Rica - small group tour

An excellent trip - lots of things to see - wonderful forests ,birds ,animals, lizards ,kaymans etc - most of which were expertly pointed out by our guides (inc driver) as otherwise we might not have seen them to say the least.
Accomodation was fine as was the food though would not have wanted to live on basic Costa Rican recipes for too long !
Would recommend the trip and will definitely go with Latin Routes again - this was the third time with them and they have not disappointed on any of them

My wife and I recently returned from a 3 week tour of Chile organised by Latin Routes. Our itinerary saw us travel down almost the length of Chile, which enabled us to visit many places of interest such as the Atacama Desert, the Lake District, including Chiloe Island, and Patagonia to name a few. All the arrangement throughout the 3 weeks ran like clockwork. The excursions were well run by English speaking guides. All pick-ups, to and from the various airports that we traveled to/from were punctual. The hotels, particularly Lago Grey in Torres del Paine National Park, which was superb, were a very high standard. A couple of days, towards the end of our tour took us to the Casablanca Valley where we stayed at a lovely boutique hotel in the vineyard heartlands.This provided us with the opportunity to visit various vineyards, where the lovely wine that we had been drinking throughout our holiday, were produced. Special mention goes to Ricardo at Latin Routes, who was responsible for putting together the itinerary. It is thanks to him, and Latin Routes' in-country' partners that we have memories, as well as hundreds of photographs of a fantastic holiday. I would not hesitate recommending Latin Routes.
