Very positive house sale experience

We chose Leadenhall Law Group for the sale of our Mother's bungalow. Unsure of who to use but we certainly made the right choice. We found everybody very helpful & most importantly, very swift and efficient. Experiences with other solicitors in the past have been anything but efficient, so working with Leadenhall was a pleasant surprise. Would definitely recommend for dealing with a house sale.

It was lovely that Alpa and her…

It was lovely that Alpa and her paralegal, Delke, took on my case as Streathers were not helpful mid sale. They were both thorough and made sure there was cover if one was away. Also the Hoowla chart was helpful to see how far the process had reached. Alpa was also helpful in facilitating DocuSign when the other seller was overseas. I used Leadenhall for both selling and buying too.

Exceptional Service from Leadenhall Law Group

We engaged Leadenhall Law Group for our first property purchase and couldn’t be more impressed. Manali, in particular, was outstanding—guiding us through every step, keeping us well-informed, and responding to our queries thoroughly and promptly. A huge thanks for all their support to us in achieving this key milestone!

Responsive, kind and persistent- Definitely Recommend!

I used Leadenhall for my recent UK real estate transaction, which was the transaction that would not close (we waited over a year). But, Sajitha and Nabil were always responsive and fair, they gave me great advice and were proactive on getting me what they could and following up with unresponsive sellers. They stayed calm and carried on. They were also super helpful and kind in advising me on the UK real estate process, which is very different from what we do in the USA. I would definitely use them again if I were to purchase another property in the UK.

Friendly and efficient conveyancing solicitors

Zahra, the solicitor, and Dolly, the paralegal dealing with the sale of our flat were polite, responsive and efficient. They worked well in enticing the buyer's solicitor to hurry along and worked with us to get information and documents from our very inefficient freeholder company. The process was longer, but only because of the freeholder.
We would recommend them to everyone.

Excellent legal team on a complicated home move

We used Leadenhall to help with the sale and purchase of our properties. It was complicated as things that could go wrong, did. However, the team and in particular Rhianna Taylor and Dilara Boran were incredible. They were quick at responding and pivoting to support through each crisis. They were professional yet human! They answered our many queries without fail and made it all accessible. Out of the whole process they helped us get to the very end and our new home. Would highly recommend them and will use again.

Abysmal service

Back in July 2024 I was selling my late mother’s bungalow and was recommended Leadenhall by the estate agents.

Big mistake!

I was assigned Michael McNally as my conveyancing solicitor for the sale.

Everything went well for the first few weeks while his assistant Bronwyne was handling the communications but after she left everything went downhill from there.

The property is a retirement bungalow with a leasehold so you have to purchase a management pack for the buyer.

I paid for the platinum pack which has a two day turn around but after a few weeks of chasing Michael for an update all I heard from him was an email saying that he was chasing but had not heard anything from the management company and asked “ME” to chase.

“I” picked up the phone and called the management company and was told that they hadn’t received the payment for the pack so this was the reason that Michael had not received it.

Between “emails” with Michael and “calls” with the management company the reason for this was that Michael had sent the wrong reference with the payment.

It was at this point, September 2024, nearly a year ago that the service from Michael became even more abysmal.

The management company kindly refunded the difference between the standard pack and the platinum pack.

As of today, Wednesday 20th August 2025, I am still waiting for confirmation that the refund has been received and applied to the account.

Again “I” chased this with the management company and in November 2024 I confirmed with Micheal that the refund had actually been sent on the day I had chased with the company in the September before and that they had sent Michael an email confirming.

Shortly after this our buyer pulled out because the sale was taking too long. Admittedly, part of this was due to trying to purchase a small patio area to the side of the property, but it was not helped with the lack of communication from Michael during the process.

Over the past 11 months I've sent numerous e-mails asking for confirmation of the refund and at one point had built a chain of five emails over five weeks, I numbered the emails when sending, before getting the usual “I’ll check” email.

In July I decided that I need to try a new approach to sell my mother’s property so I released the estate agents and also sent an email to Micheal to terminate his service as well.

After three emails requesting confirmation of my request and confirmation of the account status I was left no choice but going to Leadenhall’s office to chase face to face.

I was met in reception by someone I think may be Michael, the person never introduced themself, and said that they would look at the details and confirm by the end of the day, 8th August. I did receive an email from Michael confirming receipt of the termination request and that he would speak to the accounts team on the Monday, 11th August.

After not hearing anything from Micheal by the 12th I messaged Michael to chase and got an out of office reply with a contact name for Daniela Gonzalez who I am assuming is Michael’s assistant.

As Micheal was out of the office I followed this up with Daniela but as of today, Wednesday 20th August, I have not even received any confirmation that Michael and/or Daniela have read the emails and are looking into this.

The only decent service I have received from Leadenhall in the past 11 months was from Bronwyne Faye Nicol who left the company after a few weeks the sale. I wonder why!

If this is dealt with soon to my satisfaction I don’t have any choice but to raise a complaint with the Legal Ombudsman service.

Absolutely abysmal service.

AVOID

AVOID, total incompetence from start to finish! 11 months from instruction to completion on a house that had no onward chain.

Throughout the process, we experienced significant issues that fell well below the professional standards we expected. These included:
• Delays in communication –
1. Our emails and calls often went unanswered for long periods, leaving us uncertain of progress.
2. Between instruction on the 30th September 2024 and completion on the 11th August 2025 we spoke on the phone ONCE to our assigned solicitor AMBER. Whilst we appreciate that email may be a more efficient method of communication the value of personal communication cannot, and should not be undermined.
3. Our assigned solicitor sent us an email to inform us she was leaving on her last working day with absolutely no forewarning or reason.
4. We had emails unanswered, particularly after the change in solicitor there was no acknowledgement from the new solicitor as ensured there would be in their covering letter. MICHAEL was assigned but it was clear he didn’t have time to prepare - we had to correct him on the status of the chain below being ready to proceed, and cash buyers etc. In the end we found speaking to our buyers direct more use!

• Lack of updates –
1. We frequently had to chase for information and were not kept informed of key developments.

• Errors / oversights –

1. When it was brought to your attention there were discrepancies in the land registry of a small fence width property border they were not willing to accept an alternative option offered by the opposing solicitor, nor were they able to provide a satisfactory answer as to why they would not accept it. We sought advice from numerous other solicitors who agreed that the alternative option offered ( An indemnity policy) was acceptable and could be done. They claimed they had a duty to the mortgage company providing our mortgage and completely failed to consider the duty they had to us as your clients.
2. We were sent paperwork with incorrect details that were not identified prior to sending, only when we highlighted these errors were they corrected.
3. We were sent an incorrect completion statement once before completion that again only rectified when highlighted by us.
4. Following completion it was then noticed that there had been a ‘glitch’ in the system and we had paid the incorrect stamp duty. Another completion statement arrived requesting a further 2.5k We were then bombarded with calls and emails, even contacting our family requesting this to be rectified. We found this incredibly ironic given the lack of communication we have experienced previously.

• Impact on the purchase –
1. These failures caused significant delays in the purchase of our house, we were then subject to the increased financial costs, particularly the rise in stamp duty. We also subsequently lost out original buyers as a result of these delays meaning finding new buyers only added more avoidable time.
2. Perhaps most significantly is the unnecessary stress we have experienced. During what is already one of life’s most stressful events it has only been amplified by the service we have received.

We were buying a property and there…

We were buying a property and there were lots of issues and stated to solicitor Tarik Hassan to ensure the property is time bound, and repairs carried out before exchanging the contract. He did not know what a rider contract meant. He is totally inexperience and I complained to managing director Mr Mcnelly and he never bothered to respond. Please use experience solicitor and spend few quid more to get quality service and always check out the reviews.

Leadenhall Law are efficient and reactive

Leadenhall Law are efficient and on the ball. They use a very handy online tracker which allows the client to check progress and upload backing documents. They are good at communicating. They do not provide extensive advice but did answer the questions I had.

Highly Recommend – Efficient and Trustworthy

We recently completed the sale of our property in London with Leadenhall Law Group acting as our solicitors, and the whole process was smooth from start to finish. They were fast, polite and very understanding throughout. Every email and phone call was answered promptly, and they always kept us informed at each stage. Most importantly, they delivered completion exactly within the timeframes they had promised. We felt in safe hands the entire time and would happily recommend them to anyone looking for reliable and professional solicitors.

Excellent handling of a flat purchase

Zoe and her team were excellent in the conveyancing for my flat purchase. The whole process went smoothly without any issues. The on line portal meant I could keep up to date with the process. Everyone was polite and efficient and responded to any queries I had quickly.

UNCONTACTABLE

After trying to contact this firm numerous times no one ever bothers to answer the phone! No one even bothers to answer their sales line I don't know how they can function!

I was assigned Michael McNally as my account handler for purchasing a property. I've never managed to speak to him, he has an assistant called Daniealla who is just as impossible to deal with.

I've sent numerous e-mails over the last 3 weeks the last response I had was 24/07 and previous to that after the same vigorous contact was 09/07.

I was promised an excellent service, this is far from it, I would avoid the entire firm. If I hadn't already started the process I wish I would have went elsewhere.

I'm a first time buyer, buying and empty property. The property was accepted in the middle of April and we are now edging ever closer to September and worse yet I have no idea where the house sale is as no one is contactable, this part is the most frustrating and I can see other feedback on here with exactly the same reason.

I have requested that their manager contact me in my last response today advising I wish to raise a complaint. I very much doubt I will get any response. I hope these kind of firms are regulated and that I will be able to have my complaint dealt with by a 3rd party professional. I will be able to provide me email contact and call log.

Absolutely abysmal

Exceeded my expectations!!

My experience with Nabil and Sajitha completely exceeded my expectations with regards to conveyancing. I am an experienced buyer and I was told that to complete in 8 weeks is unheard of. Nabil and Sajitha were so efficient they were ready to complete in only 6 weeks. I was kept informed almost daily, with the progress of the sale, and never had to chase to know where things were. They were extremely quick to respond to any questions I had and made the whole experience stress-free. The app/portal to view documents I had submitted/signed and the ability to upload any documents was really helpful to keep track of also. Would highly recommend their services and will be using them for the sale of my other property as well as my onward purchase.

My experience was overall satisfactory

My experience was overall satisfactory, as the solicitor instructed was competent.
What I didn't appreciate about the overall service of Leadenhall Law group was the lack of communication, where the first solicitor I instructed either got fired or resigned. It took me one month to find out that the solicitor following my case had changed; they informed me after my fourth chase. As an account manager, I personally make it a point to call my new clients when I am assigned a new account. None bothered to call me. After that hiccup, everything went smoothly. As I said, the solicitor was very good at his job, but I suppose the company's procedures should be revised.
