Approximately three months ago, we experienced a rodent infestation, which I reported immediately. Despite notifying them, I received no response and was ultimately forced to engage an external contractor to resolve the issue. They assured me that I would be reimbursed for the costs I incurred; however, I have still not received repayment, nor have any of my follow-up emails been acknowledged.
Additionally, we experienced a boiler breakdown and were left without heating for four weeks, during which time the conditions were extremely uncomfortable. Their delayed response demonstrated a clear lack of concern for the wellbeing of their tenants.

Our experience with the sales team was unfortunately very negative. From the beginning, things didn’t feel well organised. The agent who handled our viewing seemed inexperienced and didn’t manage the appointment properly, to the point where the tenants didn’t even know we were coming. Throughout the purchase, updates were vague, important questions often went unanswered, and transparency was lacking.
Buying a home should feel structured and supported — but instead, we found the process confusing and frustrating. I would advise caution if you’re thinking of buying through Leaders.
I was genuinely shocked at how difficult Leaders Lettings made the process. We were constantly told “no” to routine requests, and documents that should have been provided instantly took weeks of chasing. They even withheld the rent ledger without a valid reason, which held up the transaction.
It felt as though they were putting obstacles in the way at every stage rather than helping resolve anything. For a company that manages properties every day, the level of communication and cooperation was incredibly poor. I cannot recommend their lettings team.

I am leaving this review specifically for the sales team at Leaders, based on my experience purchasing a tenanted flat they were marketing.
Unfortunately, the level of service from the sales side was extremely disappointing from the very beginning. The first viewing was poorly organised and unprofessional: we were not shown the entire property (including the ensuite where serious issues were later discovered), key defects were not pointed out, and the tenants themselves appeared surprised by the visit despite the agent assuring us they had been informed. The handling of the viewing set the tone for the rest of the process.
Communication throughout was inconsistent and often unclear. At one point we were told that a competing buyer had suddenly appeared at the exact moment we submitted our offer — after the property had already been on the market for around a year. While I obviously cannot prove whether this was accurate, it certainly felt very convenient and did not inspire confidence in the transparency of the process.
As the purchase progressed, the sales team were rarely proactive and did little to facilitate the transaction or support communication between parties. Several times my solicitor and I struggled to obtain basic information that should have been straightforward to provide. I often had to chase for clarity or updates that should have been part of standard sales progression.
Overall, the experience with the Leaders sales department has been frustrating, poorly managed, and lacking the professionalism I expected when buying a property. In my view, they contributed to unnecessary delays, confusion, and stress for everyone involved. Based on my experience, I could not recommend their sales service.

Poor service. They never answered the phone but it just gets diverted to HO. Preferred communications seem to be a text. In a business full of non professionals they seem to excel!

The best part of this purchase was being able to have access to the service of mortgage advisors at no extra cost. Morgan Thompson was absolutely extraordinary in his diligent follow-up and availability over the period of the purchase.
The second best was to have access to building insurance through Sian and her colleague.
I was also very happy to get the moving in service as a complimentary service

All the Lettings team at the Colchester branch are very helpful, always courteous and polite. Nothing is ever too much trouble for them. I particularly want to single out Julie Preston, Robert Perry and the Chloes, I know there are two in Lettings - thank you to you all. They keep me in the loop throughout the process of finding tenants and throughout the tenancy, if the tenants have any issues such as locking themselves out of the property. If there are any maintenance issues, I am informed by phone if urgent or by email and they are always dealt with promptly. It matters to me that the tenants are comfortable at all times. I do not hesitate in recommending them.

I gave Leaders my flat to put on the rental market. Chloe at the Colchester branch was tasked with letting out the property. She found a tenant quite quickly and communicated when she was showing the flat.

Extremely disappointed with the service at Leaders - Colchester branch. Would not recommend them to anyone.
I was never given keys to the front door of the building when they informed my multiple times they would give it to me. It's been three months since I moved into the flat and I still have no keys to the front door of the building. Now they are telling me that they don't have keys to the front door and I need to ask my neighbours for their keys so that I could make a copy. They want me to ask keys from neighbours who I have never met. Would you be giving your keys to a neighbour you've never met??
On top of all of this, their communication is awful. They do not even have the decency to reply to emails. I had to go into the office itself to get an update on the keys because they would not reply to my emails.
Would not recommend leaders at all. I myself would not even think about using leaders again.

Leaders are an absolute disgrace and thieves. Tuesday 27/08 was my last day, I was sent a check out report on 28/08 which clearly showed a black plastic bag left at the property. I contacted Leaders on 29/08 by phone (as seen in the screenshot) and was told by Rob the ‘property manager’ the cleaners had not been in yet and they would give me a call. I specifically stressed I wanted the bag back as it had items of my girlfriend that were valuable and had been gifts during our relationship and are of significant meaning. I was ignored by email but on the phone They said that they will get the cleaner to contact me about it and that the cleaner would be going in on Friday. Nobody contacted me that day so I called the office again- I was told Rob would call me back (he didn’t.) Yesterday Monday 02/09 I called the office again and Rob said the cleaner hadn’t gone in yet and would be going later that day. (Again nobody called). Today (Tuesday 03/09) I called the office and asked for the cleaners number. The cleaner then told me that they couldn’t find it and that 9 different people had been in over the last few days (this isn’t what the property manager told me). I called Rob straight after and he simply said ‘they must have disposed of it. It should have been taken. There’s nothing we can do.’ Here’s something leaders can do 1) don’t tell people wrong information 2) don’t disregard requests from people who have been tenants from them and let them know immediately that the bag was of significance and they could come to collect it. 3) show some respect instead of trying to fob me off all week and then act like it was out of their control the entire time. I will be taking this shambles of a company to small claims court.
