I contacted Leaders Letting & Estate…

I contacted Leaders Letting & Estate Agents in Long Eaton, Nottingham to arrange valuations for my uncle’s properties, and I was really impressed with the level of customer service from the very first phone call.
The reason for the valuations was because of a difficult family situation, so it was really important that everything was handled in a straightforward and stress free way, which is exactly what happened.
I spoke with Mina first, who took the time to listen and go through the details needed, especially since there were multiple properties involved. She was professional, patient, and very thorough when collecting the initial information, which made the process feel organised right from the start.
Later I needed to change one of the valuation dates because the tenants at one property couldn’t make the original appointment. I spoke with Ursula, who said she would contact the tenants to sort it out. What really stood out was the efficiency, by the time I phoned the tenants myself to let them know, Ursula had already spoken to them and arranged everything, I was genuinely surprised by how quickly it was handled.
The valuation was carried out by Kim, who was friendly, patient, and professional. She was happy to go through everything with my uncle making sure he understood the information being discussed. Compared with other agents who visited, Kim seemed to be the most prepared and had information available that the others didn’t. Kim methodically presented everything clearly and explained things without making my uncle feel rushed or pressured. My uncle was very pleased with the way in which she came across, he felt she was a true professional and was very happy with the service provided.
The reports arrived quickly in both PDF format as promised, and in a more detailed presentation format via a link provided in the email. They were the only agent to provide the information in this way with that extra level of detail.
Overall, it was an excellent service. Nothing felt like too much trouble, and everyone I dealt with was helpful, efficient, and professional throughout.
It is easy to see why the competition in Long Eaton is so hotly contended when you have teams like this to compete against.

Professional, proactive, and supportive from day one

Leaders (Long Eaton branch) recently took over management of my flat after a very poor experience with my previous agent. From the moment Jack got involved, the communication has been clear, professional, and proactive. He personally collected the keys, inspected the property with me, and immediately started resolving the problems left behind.

What impressed me most was that Leaders went above and beyond from the very start. They reviewed my old contract and invoices, even before they were officially managing the property, simply to help me understand my options. That level of effort and support is rare.

I now feel reassured that my property is being properly looked after. I would highly recommend Leaders to other landlords who want an agent that actually delivers on service.

Great to see it took over a year for…

Great to see it took over a year for leaders to reply to my last review. What a fantastic response 😆 sadly can’t put screenshots in here 🧐 Just says a lot about there lack of customer service and support when you have a grievance with them. 🤷‍♂️
Rented with them for 4 years and told to pay a clean up cost 3 weeks after I left. Basically covering the cost of the painters and decorators mess.

Excellent service,by far the best estate agents I've used

From the moment i called them till the time they got me a house the service was top standard, quick and efficient and went the extra mile for me,they look after you like it's personal to them as well, would have given a ten star rating if i could, would like to personally mention Lucy for her patience with me calling her for the big and little questions pretty much 10 times a day and always going out of her way to help ( and always came back with the answers )thank you leaders for getting me the property i hoped for

Wouldn't recommend

Staff do come across nice enough as few other reviews show but unfortunately the service is not good and they just blame there managers and there managers manager. I was told everything was fine and I was moving in given a move in date, called me to confirm told me some of the appliances where being gifted to me, signed me up to there rewards program and all contracts signed so I went out ordered items I needed paid deposit on van then I get a call and landlord doesn't want me. When I thought it was way past that stage

now I'm having to fight to get my money back with a charge back with my bank when I spoke to Lewis he said this was best way as his managers manager said can't be refunded even though I pointed out this will just charge them extra £90 in bank fees when my credit card company pulls it back and offered to not leave a bad review and lets just walk away from bad situation both partys back where they started and i even offered to rent another house off them andto move my money towards that was told they have nothing available at the moment. Wouldn't recommend unfortunately and don't think you have the house with them until the keys in your hand also look at other bad reviews on here get a true picture of what you getting into

Incompetent, borderline malicious

One of the worst estate agents I've ever dealt with. The two primary issues were outright lies in the listing for the property, and unreasonable claims against our deposit after the tenancy ended.

The property was advertised as having an ensuite to master bedroom, and a gas stove. Both of these were outright fabrications, but by the time we physically viewed the property we had no time left to secure other options. The listing of the property following the end of our tenancy repeated these lies as well! Showing they learned nothing at all.

After moving out, they attempted to claim hundreds of pounds from us for features such as dirty carpets, which were filthy on move-in. Thankfully this was detailed in the inventory very clearly. However they refused to listen to any reasoning from us and we were forced to go via the tenancy deposit scheme after months of Leaders saying "the claim still stands" rather than listening to anything we said. It was absolutely infuriating, they showed no ability to discuss or reason at all. The TDS resolution service found in our favour on almost every count, but the ordeal meant it was nearly 6 months before we finally had our deposit back.

I'm familiar with the staggering incompetence displayed by estate agents throughout the country, but the Leaders branch in Long Eaton reached new depths and were essentially malicious in their lies and fraud, I would recommend everyone avoid them.

Disgusted with what they think is acceptable

Everything was fine and moving swiftly along up until the viewing when we turned up at the house and the police was there looking for the previous occupant, they took the agent to one side and had a word with her. She came back smiling and helpful, we proceeded to enter the property to the smell of damp and a picture of Al Capone on the wall (so we can only imagine what the police was wanting with the previous occupant) the whole house was not in a good condition black mould was present throughout upstairs. When we got back home I rang the shop to tell them what had happened and they replied with yes the agent has notified us which he then said we are aware that the previous occupant is a bit dodgy but is no longer in the area. I was shocked and disgusted that they knew he was into criminal activity and was willing to let us put our 5yr old son at risk in that house not knowing who else could come looking for the last occupant. The mould on its own was bad enough, I’m amazed they actually thought it’s ok for a child to be around that! As I said earlier I find it absolutely disgusting that they think it’s ok for a child to be in that house with the mould and god knows you looking for the last tenant. Needless to say we will not be using leaders they say the tenants safety is their number one priority I find that very hard to believe!

Friendly but professional service

Friendly but professional service. Most things managed online which makes things easy. Quick and easy to speak to relevant staff that know what they are doing. Can't fault their customer service at all, pleasantly surprised.

Terrible company that does not care

Had a terrible experience with Leaders managing our move. The people we spoke to, while friendly, did not seem interested in doing their jobs well. Any questions we had took multiple calls to answer and we had to constantly chase the agents for information. We sent documents to the email address they gave us which were not picked up, and delayed our application. The available date of the house was changed to 5 days later without telling us, meaning we had planned our moving days and have had to scramble to change them. When we had a viewing at the house the agent forgot (!) and turned up 35 minutes late after I had called them. And to top it all off the house that we eventually got to view did not match the description of the house we had applied for - the most obvious difference being the lack of an en suite which had heavily influenced our decision to go for the house. By the time we found out it was a completely different house it was too late to change plans so we asked for a rent reduction as compensation. This was on Thursday evening and as yet (Tuesday morning) we have had no resolution and no apology from the company.
Tomorrow was our planned move in date and at the moment we have no certainty that we willl have a house ready to move into even by the weekend.
Avoid using Leaders if you possibly can, it's not worth this stress.

EDIT- it has been a week since Leaders responded to this review saying they would get in touch and as yet I have heard nothing from them. Still no apology or acknowlegement of fault. This company does not care at all.
