Not fit for purpose - update
My husband and I bought the Nassau bistro table and chairs made by Lifestyle Garden from a third party supplier on 13th May 2023. I purchased wood protector direct from LG on 25th May and applied two coats as directed before the table went outside. On 16th August my husband contacted the company we bought the table off as the wood had split on the top and was lifting up. They in turn contacted LG who said “ The marks and swelling on the table do seem to be superficial from the images provided. We would strongly recommend sanding the table first to clear any loose debris and then we would advise to use a wood sealer to restore the natural Golden-Brown colour of the table. After, the use of the wood protector is recommended which will allow the table to gain moisture repellent properties and will aid in water run off.”. This table was only 3 months old and had already had two coats of their own protector. We should not have to sand it down after such a short period of time, it should have been replaced. We were sent a bottle of sealer by LG. If a table is damaged in that short space of time, I would argue it’s not fit for purpose as an outdoor table and the protector that I paid £24.99 for clearly did not do it’s job. To say we are unhappy with the attitude of Lifestyle Garden is an understatement. My husband as the purchaser of the table will leave a separate review. I wouldn’t buy anything from this company again.
Since my earlier review I have received a new table from Lifestyle Garden and am happy with the outcome.

We do suggest in our written material, that all wooden products will require regular maintenance. How regularly, can depend on a number of factors, including the extremities of the weather. The appearance that you describe, sounds to be the effects of excessive moisture exposure, which will cause the paint to flake, but not to the detriment of the structure of the product. As a manufacturer striving for a sustainable approach, we would not offer a replacement table, for a product which simply needs some very light wood treatment. If your tables issues are beyond this, we would of course look further into this and re-evaluate the best course of action. Wood is a natural product and therefore, to a degree, unpredictable, but you should be able to restore the finish, with the sealer, which you note that we have sent you free of charge. Again, we are sorry to hear of your dissatisfaction and should you wish to speak with us directly, please do get in touch via our contact form and we would be more than happy to take a look, as we would not wish for you to not receive the best possible resolution, as required.

Easy to order and super fast delivery.
The ordering was great and delivery was superb, BUT when the bistro set arrived the colour of the table was different than the chairs. I have seen this set in garden centres so knew this was not right. I contacted your Company within 24 hrs and Kelly responded quickly forwarding my concerns to your customer service team.

Thank you for your review and once again apologies to hear of your issue and subsequent dismay. Apologies that we initially had to ask for images, as we use a ticketing system within our customer services department, these do not always attach, so after responding to you on the 15th, we did unfortunately have to wait for these again, in order to pass comment. I can understand the frustration caused during this time.
In regards to the colour discrepancy of the DuraOcean chair and table, this can differ from batch to batch and is the result of not adding harmful additives, into our products. Although the colours are virtually the same, it is impossible for us to guarantee that the chairs and tables will match wholly within this range. From taking a look into your correspondence history, I can see that the team clarified reluctance to offer an exchange, as we could not reassure you absolutely, that there would not still be a slight difference in the colour tone. Due to this, and owing to the fact that you had disassembled the product from the time in which the photos were taken and were now having to store the furniture within the boxes, it was deemed that the best resolution, at least in the initial stages, would be to collect the product and offer a refund in full for you.
In regards to leaving a review, again from viewing your ticket history, I can see that after you mentioned leaving a review if a resolution could not be achieved quickly, the team sought to reassure you, that irrespective of that, we would endeavour to resolve quickly for you, as for us, customer service is absolutely paramount. If the message was not construed in this manner, then we can only offer our apologies.
I can see that we are still outstanding a response to our latest message from today, in which offer of collection and refund was reiterated, alongside an alternative offer, should you wish to keep the set, but I do not believe you have seen this response yet. Rest assured, that we would not want to leave you feeling dissatisfied with your purchase and will endeavour to action the accepted resolution as quickly as possible.
Apologies once again for your experience and please do get back to us at your earliest convenience, so that we are able to resolve for you.
