Excellent gadget, I have had them for my cats but recently tucked one into my father's wallet, as he has dementia and I do not want him wandering off!

Products and services have been exceptional. I have three cats, all with tags. One roams the neighborhood so I worry about him more, especially at night. I've used the Loc8tor system hundreds of times to track him down and bring him home. Great peace of mind!

Received the locator without troubles and it works perfectly.

This product is wonderfull allowing you to locate keys with directional information and audio. I work with the blind and this type of feedback is great. I would give it 5 stars if it would have a better battery system.

My only issue is the batteries there is no way of testing them or knowing when they are going flat. I have still not been able to locate things as the batteries flat. To take them out is difficult a low battery indicator would be fabulous, or a rough idea of how long they last and reminder sticker for calendar.

My original Loc8tor was lost in the mail and when notified, management despatched a replacement immediately by express mail - and I live in Australia...!!!. It is said that good service is so rare it is memorable, and not only do I recommend the device itself (which has helped my aged father locate his constantly mislaid keys) the back-up support is the best.

Of its kind, this is the best tracker I have tried. The directional handset works very reliably.

Product was shipped very fast and I received it in the prescribed period. Product is good for locating lost items. Batteries had to be repositioned though to make it work. Just a little suggestion. For RC Planes, look is not important as the device is placed inside the plane. So the shell may not be necessary for RC use. The tags could be placed in heat shrink tubing which will reduce its weight and also reduce its volume.

Very easy to use, effective and definitely recommended

After comparing all kinds of different trackers on the Internet, and contacting Loc8tor, we got 2 tags for our indoor to outdoor cats (babies!) to give us more confidence in letting them go outside. Great size for cats and nice and light too. Fit collars perfectly. Trialled them with the locator device but thankfully not had anyone go missing yet! Company were easy to deal with and the system is great value for money. Only thing is we are having to replace one of the batteries just 1 month in as is dud already. But the up side is that the device beeps to tell you that the battery is dead.

If you are at all hesitant about ordering this product, please take a moment to read my review. Not only does it work as described, but the customer service is beyond anything I could have imagined. I did have a couple of issues (my fault) and I sent an email to the company in the UK. They reached out to me by email immediately and then wonders upon wonders by a phone call after requesting my home number here in Canada. They asked me to send my loc8tor back to them which I did and they examined my device, found out the problem (I had bought the wrong battery) and returned it with the correct size battery, a spare and two additional tag protectors. A couple of months later, my device quit working. After another email, more phone calls etc. I received a brand new Loc8tor which works perfectly. The company did this all at their expense. I have two cats which are mainly confined to our yard, but once In awhile,being cats, they escape. The Loc8tor locates them easily and I have such peace of mind. You won't be sorry if you order this.

I returned a faulty receiver to the company via the post.

Foolishly I did not pay for recorded delivery.

The company claims never to have received my package.

The company was not prepared to do anything further to help.

I would be interesting to hear if anyone else has had similar experience.

While; I Liked the product and it's performance, some 6 years of service has reviled some unacceptable issues with service, and the new modal is defiantly a downgrade from the original Loc8tor 8 Plus. (1). The new unit locates only 4 tags. I liked the original View, numerical and directional display. The lights are less useful. (2). Service is non existent. Loc8tor doesn't even respond to questions, let alone address them. (3). Tags can not be unregistered if the receiver, fails for any reason, therefore all current tags become useless and must be replaced, if you need a new receiver. No repair is available for failed receivers, You just suck it up and buy a new one. Of course it is the new model and UN-compatible with your old tags.
I will look for someone who has a customer friendly and reliable system. Loc8tor has potential, however, as it is, I say say don't buy from them.

I'm attempting to purchase Loc8tor but the checkout is not secure according to Google. This troubles me!

We have been using Loc8or devices on all 5 of our cats for about 4-5 years now. I cannot praise this little device enough. I have continually had inner conflict trying to decide if I should try to keep my cats indoors, because it is safer, when they seem so much happier and leaner when they go out during the day. Loc8tor devices are the answer.

With 5 cats, we usually have 1 or 2 per week who aren't home by dark. This used to create a sense of panic within my whole family, and we'd search for hours for the missing cat. But now we just grab the Loc8tor and head outside, knowing we will find them quickly. We have so many stories of how this device has helped us locate them. Sometimes we find our cat right in our own front yard, but they are ignoring our calls! Bratty kitties! With the Loc8tor, we can reach down into a bush in complete darkness, and pull out our kitty with the red light blinking on their collar. Once, our cat got locked in our neighbor's garage. The strongest signal I got from the device was from our living room, through the stone fireplace, through the brick chimney, and through the side of the neighbor's house...unbelievable! When we rang the neighbors doorbell, they said "We thought we heard something in the garage, but couldn't find anything each time we looked!" Kitty was safely in our arms in minutes.

Very often, our missing cat is just a few houses away, and when they hear the clicking sound that their collar makes when we turn the device on, the cats usually come running! They run home because we make it a point to give them food immediately (along with lots of praise) every time they come in after using the Loc8tor. Even in the worst case scenario, the device was helpful. One warm Spring night, one cat was on the other side of our neighbor's fence late at night, and refused to come. Rather than jumping the neighbor's fence, we made the mistake of letting her stay out for the night, and she was eaten by a coyote. We found her collar on someone's front lawn the next morning a few blocks from our house. We rang their doorbell, and they admitted that they saw her get attacked and carried off by a coyote. While we were heartbroken, at least we found the answer quickly and did not spend days/weeks searching the neighborhood. At least we had a sense of closure. We learned our lesson, and will never let our kitties stay outside during the night. We'll also never have a cat without a Loc8tor on her collar.

My biggest suggestion to all who purchase this device, is to carefully note when you replace the batteries, and mark your calendar when you should repeat this. It should be done every 6-8 months at the latest. It is also good to test each of their collars monthly. The biggest disappointment is when a cat runs away and the batteries on the collar are dead, and you are back to searching on foot for the little beast! Also, beware that if the device gets soaked in water, as happened when our cat's collar got pulled off by a tree branch before a rain storm, the device may need to be replaced entirely.

I paid in full for a loc8tor product and delivery ($116), but the product was never delivered to me. It is currently 44 days since I placed the order and paid for the product - delivery was promised within 10-21 days. Despite several emails to them, they have not responded since 11 March 2015, with an evasive response that the product enetered South Africa but they cannot guarantee any tracking (and hence delivery!) of the product to me. They also tried to shift responsiblilty of delivering the goods to me by suggesting that I should track the product from my side.

This is unacceptable poor service and according to ActionFraud (UK’s national fraud and internet crime reporting centre) the act of buyers receiving goods late, or not at all is considered fraudulent shopping! The Consumer Contracts Regulations clearly states that if the goods you ordered are lost during delivery, the trader is responsible for them. If the trader can't find the goods, you can ask for your money back or a replacement. They have not offered to resend the product or refund me. Loc8tor simply avoids any communication and takes no responsibility for their sales!!!!

I purchased a Loc8tor and had problems finding my outdoor cat with it as the batteries in the handheld seemed to have to be new in order to work properly. I accidentally knocked the handset off my 'fridge where it was hanging in the magnetic holder provided and it cracked open. Apparently it cannot be repaired and the best Loc8tor could offer me was a 10% discount on buying another one which I can't afford. They had no suggestions as to who else might be able to repair the device. This has turned out to be a very expensive waste of money.

This is great - works exactly as it's supposed to. I've started letting our (always indoor) cat outside in the mornings because I have peace of mind knowing that when it's time to come back, I can find him in minutes, no matter how small or dark his hiding place.
