Our pickup of the car went smoothly, it was nice to have someone review the car and its features. The drop off went quickly, the gentleman there took us right away and had us out in less than 10 minutes.

All the staff was very professional and helpful and the entire rental process went very smooth.

The staff made the experience very easy and convenient. I had found myself unable to use my voucher with another company who had a policy requiring an international driver’s license. So I was in a bind. I rented with National very efficiently. The only downside was that there was high demand at the time so it was an expensive rental fee.

Everything was fine, picking up the car with Smart Check-in took about 10 minutes, and we also had a second driver. With full insurance, nothing needed to be dealt with at all. Everything went smoothly.

Car rental went smoothly.
The formalities during pickup and return were kept to a minimum, and everything was handled digitally. The cars are in good technical condition, and there’s an option to purchase additional insurance called “don’t worry.”
However, having insurance doesn’t mean we can stop being careful.
I recommend this company—everything was ok in my case.

Your company is charging me for damage that was already found on the vehicle. There was no new damage and I am being charged 400 euro by the company. The damage was listed in the initial contract. I do not agree with what Locauto is attempting to do and I am not pleased.

I tried Locauto after a different car rental company (SicilyByCar) tried to charge me excessively for using a debit card.
Locauto didn't require ANY deposit and were happy to use debit cards. Considering I had to change rental company at short notice, the price was also very good.
The collection was easy, staff were really helpful and nice, and the return drop-off took seconds.
Would reccommend.

I wholeheartedly recommend Locauto for car rentals in Bologna! I was so impressed by their professionalism. The process was simple and straightforward, with no unpleasant surprises regarding additional costs. The car I rented was immaculately clean and very well-maintained, practically new. Every thing went smoothly

Pressure, rudeness, and €700 for a windshield chip I didn’t cause

I rented a Fiat Panda from Locauto in Italy. At pickup, the car already had numerous scratches and damages, and the handover was done very quickly. We were even guided straight to the rear of the car, so our attention was never drawn to the front or the windshield.

During the rental, we noticed a small crack in the windshield even before entering the highway – meaning it was most likely already there. No stone ever hit the car, and there was no sound, no impact – nothing. I’ve had real stone hits before, and I know how loud and obvious they are.

Upon returning the car, the staff quickly found the chip and immediately asked me to sign documents without explaining anything. When I asked what it would cost, he said €630. I stopped signing and called Booking.com, since I had purchased their insurance. They told me to pay and claim later – but I refused. The staff member was rude, pushy, and barely spoke English. Most of the conversation happened through Google Translate.

Now, one day later, I received an email demanding €700, threatening to charge my card within 48 hours.

I’ve officially disputed the claim. I did not cause this damage, and the way this was handled was unprofessional and manipulative.

After reading other reviews here, I see this is not an isolated case – this seems to be part of a systematic practice.

Avoid Locauto at all costs

They helped with everything debit card no problem super convenient. Garage attendant gave me a phone mount to keep me safe and legal , a few pointers about the road . They didn't try to add any fees or extra unnecessary coverage was a great experience. Better than hertz or Budget
