I officially cancelled my car booking on July 27th and received a formal email confirmation from Locauto. After many days of fruitlessly waiting for my money, I contacted their agent via chat on August 6th. I was absolutely shocked by their dishonesty - the agent (Lucrezia) falsely claimed that my cancellation "did not exist" in their system and tried to force me to cancel it again through their broken website. This is a deliberate delay tactic, an attempt to override my original cancellation date, and an unacceptable, unfair commercial practice.Because Locauto is unlawfully holding my hard-earned money, I was forced to cancel my long-awaited hotel reservation and holiday in Zakopane, for which I had to borrow money from my father. This company completely ruined my family's vacation plans, caused immense, ongoing mental distress, and sparked painful arguments and stress within my family. To recover my original money (2,621.27 PLN), I have already been forced to initiate a chargeback procedure through my bank. The case has been officially reported to the European Consumer Centre (ECC) and the file is prepared for submission to the Italian consumer protection authority AGCM (Autorità Garante della Concorrenza e del Mercato) to review these practices.LATEST UPDATE: After the last chat with Lucrezia, it is clear that this is a showcase of sheer impudence. Your agent finally admitted on a written chat ("YES") that she can see my original cancellation from July 27th in your system! She also confirmed that Locauto processed the refund only on August 6th. The staff were very friendly and helpful . Both at the desk and at the car park . It was a lovely car and very spacious for our needs . I tried to book direct with you but the website wasn’t very user friendly . So booked with Ryanair and there was a charge of tax for additional driver that I wasn’t expecting . I took the don’t worry package on the safe side . But did feel it was rather costly . It was convenient right near the airport terminal . But the signage both coming out of the arrival terminal section and bringing the car back could be better . Because lots of cars parked outside the airport which made it harder to see the entrance to the car return section .

The customer service was superb and the Cupra wagon they had for both of our families we excellent and I would recommend using Locauto

I rate my experience with Locauto with the lowest possible score.

At the Brindisi office, the attendant told me that the additional insurance would cost EUR 31. However, she did not clearly explain that this amount would be charged for each day of the rental, multiplied by the entire rental period, with VAT and other charges added on top.

As I do not speak or understand Italian, I trusted the information provided by the attendant. Only afterwards did I discover that I had been charged EUR 601.75 for the “Don’t Worry” package. The final cost of this insurance was higher than the amount I paid for the vehicle rental itself.

I feel that I was misled and taken advantage of because of the language barrier. I felt cheated, humiliated and made to feel like a complete idiot. It is absolutely unacceptable for a customer to receive incomplete information about an optional service involving such a substantial amount.

I am extremely dissatisfied with the way this was handled. I will never rent a vehicle from Locauto again, and I will never recommend this company to anyone.

I expect Locauto to investigate the conduct of the attendant at the Brindisi office and refund the amount charged without my properly informed consent.

The branch is very easy to find. The waiting time was reasonable. We were given a brand-new car with just 2,000 km on the clock. The on-site process was flawless and very straightforward. There were no issues when we returned the car. Everyone was very friendly. The reports are sent by email straight away. Everything was exactly as it should be – perfect.

Getting the car was easy and fast. Also returning went very smooth.
Great car and the price was according to what we expected.
Also great is that you don’t have to pay a warranty. (€ 0,01)
